I appreciated the friendly staff, the quick wash, cut, and blow dry, and Tina did a great job on my hair. Prices are also reasonable. I specifically decided NOT to go to Salon Chou Chou because the prices were fairly outrageous for a simple cut, and the customer service was lacking when I called to get some info. I have been going to Leah for over 3 years now and I can tell you: She is the Best! I went to her…read moreat a time when I wanted to go all natural and stop perming my hair. Before finding her, I did a lot of research and had consultations with numerous stylists but once I met Leah I know she would be the one to help. She was very professional and knowledgeable of hair care. Most of all, she introduced me to Brazilian Blowouts. Now, she is the only person who touches my hair, from a keratin/split end treatment to a simple trim. My hair has improved tremendously and she is always giving me new tips and routines for healthier hair. She will always be my go-to!

When I tried to book an…read moreappointment, she responded and said that she was looking for a place for me, then didn't respond for two weeks! I emailed her again after a week and got no response, then finally called to book an appointment. Otherwise, I would never have heard from her, even though I had already paid for the service. She was curt and rude on the phone, in fact I heard her swear and when I asked what was wrong, she complained about an open window (strange!) At my appointment, I waited for at least 25 minutes after the start of my appointment before she ever greeted me (by the wrong name). While she shampooed my hair, she got distracted by the phone and other things and left me sitting in the sink with a head of shampoo for more than 10 minutes. While this happened, another stylist came in with a dog that is apparently there all of the time. She reached over my head and I thought she was resuming my shampoo, but she was just getting water for the dog. Leah did a mediocre job with my hair, but her attitude and the borderline unsanitary conditions made me feel unwelcome. I tried to be friendly and chat with her to pass the time (mine was a 30 minute service that took more than an hour and twenty minutes due to all of her distractions) but Leah made it clear that she did not care whether or not I returned. I tried to address my concerns via her email review system, and she responded without apology, telling me to get another coupon and go somewhere else I would have considered going back but frankly her attitude and all of her distractions make it clear that this place is not at all worth the $250 full price service. I believe that if you are going to look down on customers who make purchases from online services like Lifebooker and treat them like their time is worth less than full-paying customers, then you have no business offering Lifebooker services. I'm disappointed in Leah's lack of professionalism and personality, and frankly, I could have gone anywhere else to have the same service done, and Leah left me wishing I had.

This is my fourth and final time visiting Cozy Nails. I got a gel manicure on January 21 from…read moreMonica. The next morning, I noticed one nail was chipped, and another was painted over my skin, which made the polish lift. So, I went back to the salon the next day and asked Monica if she could fix those two nails. I wasn't upset because I know stuff happens, and I just wanted my nails fixed. Unfortunately, Monica was really rude. She seemed annoyed and said it was my fault because my nails were weak and I didn't want to get powder nails. I told her that I had gotten a gel manicure there before without any issues. She blamed it on the color I chose. While she was fixing my nails, she was rough with the file, and instead of repainting, she just filed one corner and changed the shape of that nail. Then she put on a coat of clear polish but painted over my skin again. I left this place feeling embarrassed that Monica reacted like this, specially in front of another client.

It is a small place so make a call beforehand for a heads up. Monica and her sister are great people, the vibe/ambiance is spot on, complimented by a clean space ! Light pop music going on in the background, so it is cozy and chill. Pricing is fair, tipping is done in cash preferably (Monica accepts Zelle), they speak Spanish and some English. Monica took care of me, and I walked out of there overjoyed. I enjoy a simple look (clearly) and she delivered that, great color too!! Got some compliments myself haha. In and out in about an hour. I will be a returning customer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family.

Located inside the popular Sola (multi)-studios salon on Hamilton Ave, in White Plains, Ana…read morebranched out on her own after working at a nail salon with an unreasonable boss in Ardsley. Now, she's her own boss (applause) within the bigger Sola umbrella who give opportunities to independent technicians in the beauty world where she has her own pricing, schedule and space. Going to just any nail salon isn't in my book (though I visit another one if my girl Ana is busy and need a mani+pedi ASAP). I've been Ana's follower going on 5 years since Ardsley because she comes with experience. Plus there's something about neatly uniformed cuticles and immaculately glossy top coats that I simply can't replicated at home. And my girl Ana does just that. I keep my nails short and choose minimalist+soft colors like Essie's 'Mademoiselle' or 'Ballerina Slippers' or 'Sugar Daddy'. She does a deliciously luxe job on pedis by the way. You can bring your tools or use hers (she has a sanitizing station). All the studios at Sola are enough for one person at a time. So the need to call and schedule with Ana is a must. Her studio feels cozy, attention to detail is all here and if you wanna chat for shits and giggles, you can do that too. Ana has carved a wonderful niche for her. And whether you're after a low maintenance coat of polish, bullet-proof talons or have your heart set on an indulgent foot treatment, Ana won't disappoint. And no, you won't leave thinking about all the ways your manicurist could have filed your nails better...
