Luckily we called around and found this establishment was ahead of the program. This hidden gem saved the day as my godson's were leaving the state today. The facility was clean and the lifeguards seemed knowledgeable though not the friendliest. Neither was the front desk lady. One female lifeguard was friendly though. I understand rules for safety but one rule still has me baffled. My godson was using one of their floating devices in the lap pool and he was told only swimmers doing laps can use them. Not like anyone was doing laps and I didn't see any harm using it. The price was great as well. For my children ages 5, 8, and 10 was $12.00 for an all day pass. .

Here you'll find about a half dozen ellipticals, a half dozen treadmills, a few stationary bikes, a stair climber, free weights, bench presses, and a few other machines. Basically, your standard gym fair. Aside from the DIY fitness aspect of the Wave, it also offers the residents of the Breakers fitness classes throughout the week. I used to attend the yoga classes but found them to be pretty basic. If you're a beginner, they are great! I haven't been able to attend many other classes because they're scheduled during the work day, but there are many options like Tai Chi and Zumba. P90X has been offered throughout the year, as well as other more personalized training sessions with coaches. (The last two examples do cost extra money!) As with any gym, the Wave can get pretty hectic after work. So, like a crazy person, I prefer to get my miles in during the wee hours of the morning. It's been a rare occasion that I haven't been able to use the machines I'd like to use at those odd ball hours. I like the Wave! Overall I've been pleased with the facility and the fitness class offerings. If you live at the Breakers, certainly take advantage of this place!

A lovely little stream meanders across the property and lots of tall trees provide shady spots for picnics in the grass. But my favorite thing about Cook Park is the swimming pool! Is there anything better than lounging by the pool on a hot summer day? The pool area is a nice size and has plenty of comfortable grass and shade. I recommend bringing a cooler (no alcohol or glass containers, of course) and snacks and making a day of it. See you there!

There is a port-a-potty in the parking lot as well as a clean restroom in the Recreation Center. I only noticed one trash can and it was noticeably full of bottle and beer cans along all 18 holes with regular trash. The course is wide open with a few small trees. Quite a few little streams and small lakes to dip into. This was my first disc course that I have reviewed in the Denver area so I'm not sure how to compare. I am also just an average and semi-avid disc golfer. Check out the pictures I took for the best feel.

This large park hosts many features such as a tons of green space partially covered with large trees and picnic benches. This park also has a Rec Center that has a pool and other sports courts. It conveniently is located at the corner of E Dartmouth Ave and S Colorado Blvd in the University Hills neighborhood of Southeast Denver. Eisenhower Park is named for first lady Mamie Doud Eisenhower, whose family migrated from Iowa to Denver for the health of Mamie's sister. This is a very nice park to visit when in the area.
