My child got moved to other classrooms a lot. Her classroom only had 1 teacher so if the teacher ever had to miss they just moved all the kids over. When they did that I couldn't see her on the monitors. I think the teachers were getting kids confused because they would mark they changed my daughter's diaper, and I would come check on her & her home diaper would still be on. ( daycare diapers had her name written on them as required, so I could also tell if she had been changed or not.) sometimes she would go 5 hours or so without a real diaper change. Even though it was marked in the app that they had changed her. They would mark that they fed her 8 oz & then my 4 oz breastmilk bottles would still be in the fridge. So I think they were giving her someone else's milk. Also I could walk in & they would ask me which child was mine. So that definitely worried me. You don't have to be buzzed in( you do have a code) but if someone was in front of you, anyone could slip in while someone else was walking in the school & the teachers didn't know who the kid was much less what the parents looked like. They had pictures of the babies in their own classroom, but since they had to always move them to the older room their pictures weren't in there. Since there was only 1 teacher that meant babies were left crying while she held one baby, or changed a diaper or fed any of them. I'm pretty sure it was the cafeteria staff that would come relieve the teacher for her lunch break. They were all nice people but extremely under staffed, with a high turnover over rate. We left really shortly after we started and found an amazing daycare where there are 4 teachers for about 10 babies. Even the toddlers class has 3-4 teachers all the way until they are two. And we pay less now. The new school has better cameras & more security. Unlimited log ins at our new school. The infants have their own "playground" and go outside everyday weather permitting. it's covered so you don't have to worry about the sun as much. **** update. I didn't post my first or last name on yelp. So that makes sense that you couldn't pull my name off of any database. I also believe it was my spouse that registered our child. However, my child did attend this school. I struggled to post this because I truly thought the staff was nice. But as a parent I would want to know the experience we had. The school was just severely understaffed & everyone was new. Teachers walked out in the middle of the day & quit it got so bad. Those things can be fixed. I worked at home and we are extremely cautious with covid. My daughter got covid the first week starting at this center and found out later on that the staff told other parents that my daughter "gave it to everyone" even though the teacher had just gone on vacation and tested positive but wasn't showing symptoms... whatever. So needless to say we started off on a bad foot but unfortunately there was no light at the end of the tunnel. My daughter had extreme blistering diaper rash in their care. I would get it cleared up over the weekend and it was clockwork by Tuesday she had it again. When you put your 1 year old in their car seat and they scream at the top of their lungs because their butt is literally raw it's infuriating. I would say something in the morning when dropping her off, I would call during the day, I would email and NOTHING changed until I threatened to pull her from their care. She is at a new center and has NEVER had diaper rash since being in the new facilities care. They have an app that i thought would be fantastic....how great to receive photos of your child all day and get updated on how they are doing. Wrong! I would get an update of what she ate that day and sometimes they would also send a picture of her eating. Well, the photo never matched what it said she was eating which was extremely concerning. I understand that when a toddler starts daycare they are going to get sick a lot. But in the 5 months of us being in their care my daughter was always sick. Parents weren't notified if kids in the class were sick. My daughter threw up in her crib one night and had a horrible stomach bug (which then our entire house got) but after she was better and I brought her back the lady at the front said "oh she got it too".... I was in shock. Our new facility lets us know if any kid in the entire school gets sick and what it is-parents are notified in the app and on the front door of the center. The learning experience only notified us when it was covid. If it wasn't covid, good luck and be prepared to use a lot of your work sick time. A couple of reasons I think my daughter may have been sick all of the time could have been because I would send her to school with her cup LABELED because I do what I'm supposed to and they send her out with another child's cup. I get it kids may drink out of another kids cup but it didn't only happen once, it happened all of the time. She came home in other kids clothes(I had 3 changes of clothes there) , with other kids sheets(they had 2 extra sheets) - which is also extremely frustrating when you do label everything and then you don't get your stuff back because it went home with another kid but they don't know who. The kicker and what made me pull her from their care was for the 2nd time I picked her up and she smelt like poop when I was putting her in her car seat. The minute I got home I changed her and she had a clean diaper but she had poop in her pants. Mind you she had 3 changes of clothes as backup.... So you are telling me my poor baby has been in poopy clothes for who knows how long. She has been sitting on toys, chairs, the floor....her poo particles were on everything. NO WONDER she was always sick. I called immediately when I saw and the teacher said she didn't notice. This was the second time it had happened and the next day I emailed them letting them know she wouldn't be returning. As a new mom you don't know what to expect and what is "acceptable". I didn't know if I was overreacting so I asked friends and none of them could believe the standard of the learning experiences care. The reason we chose this center was because of the tour Ms. Jessica gave us- she made us feel at home and you could really see the passion she had. Unfortunately Ms. Jessica isn't the one watching your children. If you say anything to Ms. Courtney good luck on that information being relayed to the people that need to know about it. Oh and good luck on getting your emails returned- that was always like pulling teeth. I highly recommend you keep looking for care elsewhere!

Their lack of communication between the morning and afternoon teacher, and ultimately to me the parent, was horrific. I was told repeatedly by his afternoon teachers they didn't know what had happened when their was a cut or bruise. I'm sure the cuts and bruises were all innocent enough, but I also know what other daycare standards are and Greystone House Montessori proved to be far below par in comparison. I would be extremely cautious before starting your child here. I'm usually not one to leave a review but since this is a place where people leave their most precious assets on a daily basis I felt it was necessary. The following were my concerns and experience with Greystone House Montessori: - Week 1 and 2: I found a few small scratches on my son and I wasn't told about them. -Week 3: Monday he came home with a few more scratches. I wasn't told about them. I contemplated bringing them up the next day, not because they were big, but because he kept getting scratched and I wasn't being told. This made me think his teachers hadn't seen them, and if they hadn't seen them, were they paying enough attention to him? Tuesday as I picked my son up and began walking out I saw a scratch that went from the middle of his chest to his armpit. I hadn't been told about it. I walked back and asked what happened to him. I was told they didn't know and he hadn't cried all day. His teacher said she did notice it after his nap but thought it looked old. His chest was bright red where the scratch was. Wednesday I picked my son up and noticed he had 2 small but deep cuts behind his ear. Again, I wasn't told about them. I walked back in and found the assistant director. I told her what had been happening and showed her my sons scratches. She said she wasn't sure why I didn't get an incident report for the cuts behind his ear and that she would find out what was happening. Thursday I was called and informed that after speaking with his morning teacher my son and 2 other students really liked to play together. They assume the scratches were happening during play time and would talk to the parents to remind them to keep their kids nails short. They also said they would work with the kids about gentle hands. Friday as I got to daycare his teacher was cleaning 2 cuts on his face that were bleeding. When I asked what happened she said she didn't know he hadn't cried. I did get an accident report. The assistant director also called to check in. Week 4 -Towards the end of the week I got off early and got to the daycare just as my son sat down to eat his afternoon snack. I sat next to him to let him finish. His teachers (2 in the classroom) were handing out food and watching the children. Most of which were sitting at their tables, 2 children were still sleeping on their cots. A little girl in front of me put too much food in her mouth and began to gag until she threw up. His teachers hadn't noticed so I told them. They both took her to the attached bathroom leaving the other children unattended. One came back a minute or so later. As my son finished his snack and we began to leave, I noticed one of the sleeping boys get up and walk to the outside door to play on the playground. He pushed the door open and stood their holding the door. I waited a minute to see if his teachers had noticed. They hadn't. The final week, I picked my son up on Wednesday and as I was putting him in the car I noticed a small bruise on his head and a band-Aid on his elbow. I wasn't told about either. I went back to ask what had happened and again was told she didn't know but she had noticed the bruise on his head. The assistant director called and told me while playing outside my son fell but his morning teacher didn't think he fell hard enough to leave a bruise. That was the final straw for me. Any head injury, big or small, mark or not, should be reported to the parent even if it is just verbally upon leaving. The staff seem to be lacking basic safety training and communication skills both with each other and the parents.

I was told that my son was being "targeted." That alone should alarm anyone considering this place. The issues start with management. Multiple teachers told me that the director gossips about staff, creates a toxic environment, and spoke poorly about me to other employees--also warning them to treat my child differently because we monitored the cameras. That is unacceptable behavior from someone in charge of children. There is also clear favoritism. Certain staff members are allowed to operate without accountability, while others--and certain children--are treated very differently. I personally witnessed a teacher aggressively handling my child during nap time on camera. Although that teacher was fired, the facility refused to provide the video footage when requested, especially after I made it clear I was considering going to the police. That refusal is extremely suspicious. Staffing is another major issue. I was told directly by teachers that they are overworked, unsupported, and often left in ratios close to one teacher for 14+ children, with "float" staff who do little to help. That alone creates an unsafe environment. One teacher, referred to as "T," already has a negative Yelp review--and my experience matched it. She took my child out of camera view without my knowledge, and when I raised concerns, they were dismissed. Later, she told me directly that she "will be taking my child to get water if she wants" and made it clear she did not care about my boundaries, even stating she "knows my child better than other teachers." I had never even had a proper conversation with her. At the same time, I was dealing with behavioral concerns with my 2-year-old, which we are actively addressing with professionals. I was told an additional teacher would be assigned to support him--that never happened. The plan was ignored, another incident occurred, and I was called to pick him up early, only to be told they were "short staffed." I was also informed that other children displaying the same behavior were not handled or documented the same way, particularly one child connected to a staff member. That is blatant inconsistency and favoritism. Meanwhile, the director told staff members I was "dramatic" and that I was "freaking out over nothing," despite raising concerns about my child being physically mishandled, left in a soiled diaper long enough to cause severe rash, and forcibly grabbed by his shirt to sit down. These are not minor concerns--they are serious. I made repeated efforts to work with this facility, but it became clear that addressing the issues was not the priority. Since leaving this facility, my child has shown significant improvement and has been in much better spirits, which leads me to believe this specific daycare environment was negatively affecting his emotional well-being. I am relieved to be done with this place, but I am deeply concerned for any child still in their care. Please think carefully before trusting this facility with your child.

From the start, I had major concerns. The first red flag was the director, Jenn. She was extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and outright rude. She barely conducted an interview, simply asked for my personal information to run a background check, then handed me a large, messy stack of paperwork with errors throughout. Nothing was stapled or organized. When I returned for training the following week, I met Michelle, the Curriculum Director. She was hostile and dismissive. She talked for two hours without offering any meaningful guidance, then sent me on a long break. Afterward, Jenn told me Michelle had complained that I "didn't ask enough questions" and that I "should smile more" because I came off as uninviting despite the fact that Michelle didn't create a welcoming space in the first place. Besides, the only time I remember Michelle smiling was at one of her own jokes. After that, I was placed in a classroom with a teacher named Miss Cindy, who was the only kind and helpful person I encountered. In just 30 minutes, she taught me more about how the center runs than I learned during the entire training. Unfortunately, Jenn then moved me to the infant room, even after I made it clear I had no experience with infants. I'm 18 years old and the youngest children I've worked with before were 3 years old. I had never changed a diaper or cared for a baby, and it felt completely irresponsible for Jenn to place me in that position. The staff member (6'3, plus size, freckles, lightskin with glasses)I was paired with in the infant room initially seemed helpful but quickly began to take advantage of me, assigning all the diaper changes and giving vague instructions without any real guidance. She also failed to sanitize toys or maintain cleanliness, I ended up cleaning everything myself after she left. The center is severely understaffed due to how poorly employees are treated. People are quitting weekly, which only adds more stress and disorganization. At the end of the day, I expressed to Jenn that I wasn't comfortable working in the infant room due to my lack of experience. She ignored my concerns and insisted I stay in that room for the week, which felt incredibly irresponsible and unsafe. As someone who cares about children, I would never want someone inexperienced looking after my own child, and yet that's exactly what they were doing. To sum it up: Jenn is unprofessional and barely leaves her office unless it's to complain.
