I brought my 12 year old daughter for a morning zip line, and we had a very good time. We had a 10:00 reservation on a Thursday and were the only ones signed up at the time, so it was basically a private tour. Our two guides (Sam and Zach) were great. We did a 5 zip line tour, which only took about an hour and a half. The best zip lines were the ones over the lake. All in all, the staff was friendly, helpful, and fun. The zips were pretty long and scenic. I guess my only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it is relatively expensive (and time consuming) for 5 30-second rides. But maybe that's just the nature of zip line tours. I'm glad I wasn't there when they had a bigger group. read more

My husband and I decided to go ziplining for our wedding anniversary. We chose eXplore because of the beautiful scenery of Brown County. It was a pretty quick drive from Indy, even in rush hour traffic on a Friday. It was easy to find and we got there about 30 minutes early so we checked in and walked around the property. The owner told us how to find the lake and said a group would be zipping over it very soon. He was very friendly and helpful. We got to the lake just in time to see 4 people zooming over it! It was the same tour we chose so I got pretty excited after seeing them. We went back to the gear building and got suited up quickly. Our group consisted of 3 guides and 4 participants (Us + another 2). The guides were friendly and the two ladies zipping with us were pretty hilarious. I was happy that we had a fairly small group. We got to the top of the hill and they told us the rules and tips. It didn't take a very long time and we were off to the first line. We did the Explorer Tour which was 5 zips, 2 suspension bridges and a rapel down at the end. The zips were lots of fun and we started getting more brave and creative by the end. (My husband did the "nestea plunge" or "trust fall" off of the last platform. We were cracking up the entire trip and cheering each other on when someone would get nervous. I was a little freaked out by the suspension bridges but for the second one I tried walking with my arms out for part of it. The guides were really good about local restaurant suggestions, even telling her favorite menu items. We had a ton of fun. I will totally recommend this place to friends and I hope to take my son someday soon. read more

My grandson and I went for one last getaway for his summer vacation and my birthday. We opted to split our time and money between the zip-lines and a buggy tour. The zip-lines were very fun and we would do them again. My only complaint about the zip-lining is that it was over way to fast. The buggy tour was a great disappointment and a costly one at that. The website shows buggies and that was not what we were given for the tour. What we took on the tour was nothing more than a glorified 4WD golf cart or gator, as my grandson had put it as he voice his disappointment as well. I also felt as if the guides were taking it easy on me due to my age.......but I was told otherwise when I ask them if that was the case, I am still not convinced of that.(lol) So to say the least I would NOT pay the high cost for a buggy tour or a glorified 4WD golf cart/gator tour. Had I known they no longer had the buggies as shown on their website, I would have spent the money and done all the zip-lines!!!!!! But I do have to say all the guides were very polite, had a good sense of humor and went to great measures for our safety!!!! We had run out of film when it came to the "not" buggy tour, but one of the guides, Bryan, offered to take pictures with his phone and email them to me. They were awesome pictures and I greatly appreciated his kind gesture. Just an FYI, the guides will take pictures during the zip-lining. There was two groups and we were told the $15.00 cost would be split between the groups, being told my share being $7.50. When I arrived back to pay for the pictures I was told it was $15.00 and I would receive all the pictures even the other groups along with me and grandson's pictures. So again, incorrect information given along our experience. I would give the Zip-lines; 5 stars On the other hand the Buggy tour; 1 star Staff; 5 (Plus stars) First impression of the grounds; 3 stars Safety measures; 10 I would recommend Explore Brown County to others to experience the fun of the zip-lines!!!!! My husband officiated a wedding here at the barn, so we didn't really check out the other attractions they have to offer, but we saw several, happy groups of zipliners and other outdoor adventurers. The barnnfacility is really nice - filled with antiques and rustic decor. read more

I took my son here with his friends for paintball. It was their first time and it was great. Their instructor, Matt, made sure they were well informed and safe. The weather was terrible, but Matt made sure they had fun. He joined in and played with them the whole time so they could have even teams- very impressive. Everyone at Explore Brown County was helpful and nice every step of the way. The paintball areas were extensive and the equipment worked great. Many thanks and we will be back again. read more

Went on the screamer tour with two friends. We were weighed (there are weight limits), suited up, and then got on a truck with others on the tour. Our guide was Nathan and he did a great job explaining the process once we got to our starting point. I would definitely do it again, or even go for the longer excursion next time!!! read more

Wonderful and friendly staff! I went with a group of about 40+ college students, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. While we were there, there was a freak snowfall in October. Despite this, they still let us continue on, and we all had a truly one of a kind experience as we Ziplined through the beautiful snow covered trees! HIGHLY recommend! read more

The zips were awesome and the views were outstanding but what really makes this trip over the top is the staff. These folks are the best! Combining such a great adventure with the most awesome people on the planet how can you not have fun? Still skeptical? We made this a girlfriends outing of 6 with only 1 who had previously zip lined. Needless to say, our guides, Nat and Cass were awesome, very calming with the newbies and everyone had an excellent time! Our group would definitely go again. We were just thrilled with the entire experience. My husband, 14 year old daughter and I took the canopy tour in Mid October. The views were amazing - and the bonding experience a delight. We are still telling folks about it two weeks later. I personally think the human experience can make or break any experience and all I can say is WOW to that aspect. Joy and Drew were like family! They were the sweetest and friendliest guides imaginable. Even when they had to crawl out and "recover" my daughter and I on the first run they were all smiles. I'd strongly encourage this experience for all ages and groups... but this made for a great family experience! On the first run of the canopy tour -- don't forget to grab the red rope! My wife and I took our sons down to camp and the boys played paintball. They have the best paintball facilities any of us have ever seen. We had a great time learning how to ride the ATVs. As beginners, we were not sure what to expect but Gary did a great job explaining to us the technical moves and then we were able to execute them. Never thought we would be jumping logs and handling the ATVs like we did. A great 2 hour tour through some challenging hills. Would recommend to anyone interested in riding ATVs. We plan to bring some friends and make a zip line, ATV and golf weekend. read more

I had never gone zip lining before going here and I'm definitely going back. We worried that we wouldn't be able to zip since it was raining but they said we could go anyway and that they zip in rain or snow! Even though we got wet, it was still awesome. I now regret doing the sneak peek because it was too short and I didn't know I would have so much fun. They offer a Super Hero tour where you can zipline in super hero position and another where you can shoot at targets with a paintball gun! Our tour guides were great and made us feel very comfortable. We did wish that the quality of the pictures were a little better but figured it wasn't so great due to the rain. Great experience! We took family visiting from Chicago. We only regretted not doing a longer tour, we did the screamer tour which included two zips. We felt very safe, the staff was friendly and even as we walked up someone greeted us outside and directed us where to go. We definitely plan on going again. read more

I did the Zip lining tour with a group of friends and it was fun. Matt and Bill were our guides and they were great. However, Janelle was unpleasant to be around. She was condescending and rude. Also, got a rash on my chin from the gross, stinky helmet. Probably will not return because of that. read more
