Tara has a way about her that makes you feel at ease, taken care of, and like you've known her for decades. She brings such a strong level of expertise as she has witnessed hundreds of births and been a doula for over 16 years. This is ultimately why I chose to hire Tara out of the many doulas that came recommended by my provider. Again, best decision ever. Since this was my first pregnancy, there was so much unknown for both myself and my husband. My plan was to have an unmedicated birth. However, I was not prepared for how hard that would be. My labor lasted about 20 hours and I can not even think about what I would have done without Tara. Once Tara arrived at my home she immediately started putting me in different positions during my contractions, a couple hours into active labor she knew my baby was in a challenging position and needed to make a rotation. This was intense, but Tara knew exactly what to do and when we needed to leave for the hospital. I could cry thinking about the incredible support she gave me during the most challenging/painful hours of my life. Because of Tara my baby ultimately did make that rotation and I delivered her without an epidural. I also had great support from my midwives and my husband. I can only imagine anyone who doesn't feel completely supported by their midwife/OB would need Tara even more! After my baby was born Tara stayed with me and helped me breastfeed. This led to a successful latch and easier breastfeeding journey for me and my baby. Again, I do not think this would have been possible without Tara. A few days after my birth Tara came over again and helped me further with breastfeeding and overall baby care. I felt such a closeness to her and I have so much gratitude for her support. I trust her completely and hope and pray that she can support any future births I have.

Our friends recommended RRDS after having used them for their two kids two separate times. Our experience was fantastic. Originally, we had only planned to use them for 6-8 weeks postpartum, but we ended up using them for about 4 months. Our initial doulas were Tracy and Stephenie, and we absolutely loved their help, expertise, and kindness. They helped me immensely during my c-section recovery, taught us so much about newborns, and ended up being such a great resource throughout our entire time with them. As time went on, Tracy and Stephenie stepped back a bit due to other commitments to new families, and we were introduced to several other doulas for the remainder of our relationship with RRDS. Everyone was great and communicative, and we really felt like we were in good hands with each of them. There were a few hiccups along the way, but Rebecca and the doulas handled it all with grace and understanding. We have already talked about using RRDS again with our next baby.

My husband and I are new residents to California and I am currently pregnant with our first child. We have no family in the area. I had a phone consult scheduled with the owner, Ms. Michele, on January 5th, 2026. She called me on time and we both mutually agreed to move forward with the on-boarding process for doula services for my pregnancy. She requested that I call my insurance company and gather the information for her in an email. I did this, and sent her an email the following night, on January 6th. I didn't hear anything from her, so I sent a text message to both her work and personal cell phone number on January 9th. No response. At this point, I am 37 weeks, and anxious to move things along for doula services. The weekend and Monday goes by, and I still have not received a reply. I decide, as a last attempt, to call her. I called both her work and personal cell phone and left a voicemail on each line on Tuesday, January 13th. Nothing. Shame on the owner, Ms. Michele, for stating that she will move the process forward and said she will have a doula for me for my birth. She lied. She disclosed to me during our consult that she is a mother herself and had over twenty years of experience working as a L&D nurse. This provided me great relief and happiness, only for it to be crushed when she never replied to my messages. How can someone with this sort of background make a promise and then not follow through? Ms. Michele should be ashamed of herself not only on a professional level, but also on a personal level. This seems to be a wider issue with the Doula profession as I was ghosted by another local Sacramento doula company as well as the Volunteer Doula Coordinator at Mercy Hospital of Folsom. I believe doulas are a valuable asset to a woman's birth experience, however, I will not be wasting my time anymore trying to arrange one for my pregnancy.

Now that I've experienced it, the ability to have an in-home option for a massage, especially being 35 weeks pregnant, is invaluable to me! Kaelyn was very caring and hit a lot of spots for me that I didn't even realize was giving me discomfort. Couldn't thank her more for that! Here is our Birth Story and experience with Cambridge Midwifery My husband and I found out we were pregnant with our 3rd child while living out of state. We knew already we would be moving at some point during my pregnancy back to Sacramento CA because of work, but didn't know if I would only be a few months or closer to 8 months pregnant. When I called and talked to Christie for the first time it was like I was talking to my sister or like a very close friend. She was so friendly, warm, and understanding of our situation. Right away she wanted to help us and support us in our pregnancy and the moving process. I knew before hanging up the phone that I had found the perfect midwife to go with us on this journey. Christie really takes the time to get to know all her mamas on a personal level. Before meeting in person she was already 100% devoted to providing the best care for me during this pregnancy. We called and texted back and forth for over a month while we were still living out of state and in the moving process. Finally we were back in CA and I started my prenatal appointments with Christie. Every appointment she showed how much she cared about taking care of you and your baby. She would answer any questions my husband and I had and she is extremely knowledgeable about over all health and pregnancy and taking a very natural approach, and never rushing through appointments. She wants you and your baby to be happy and healthy throughout pregnancy and birth. Each home visit was so much fun. My two other daughters ages 1 and 3 loved helping her and asking questions. My 3 year old has a special draw towards midwifery care and Christie noticed that and went out of her way to talk to her and explain what she was doing during my appointments and would let my daughter help with it all. My husband and I loved this because it brought the family together to love and support my growing belly and our 3 year old learned so much and continues to talk about becoming a midwife when she is big. Now onto labor, it slowly built up the few weeks leading up to delivery and no matter what time it was Christie was there answering my calls and text when I was unsure about something going on. June 31st when my labor started Christie came over and checked on me and the baby and everything was well, she then came back that night and did a second check and then left to let us sleep and get ready for delivery soon. That night/morning at 12am I woke up and things where getting real. We called Christie and she was quick to answer and on her way to us. When she arrived her and my husband got the birth tub set up and all the supplies ready. When she was setting up she was so quiet and comforting allowing me to continue laboring with out interruption, but giving me the peace of mind knowing she was there to help if needed. When she came over to me to get me into the tub and she placed her hand on my back it was a feeling of warmth, comfort, and so supportive. It gave me reassurance that my body and baby know what to do and to let it natural bring him into the world. During contractions Christie and my husband stayed right there next to the tub the whole time rubbing my back and hips helping and supporting me with their words of encouragement and reminding me to breathe low and deep and to go with the contractions to bring him down low to come out. This made my birth very empowering, more relaxing, and had such a trusting, caring, and loving feel from everyone. We were so happy and pleased with Cambridge Midwifery. When we are expecting again we will not hesitate to call her again to have her walk through the next journey of life with us. She is truly amazing at what she does! After touring the hospital I realized that paying out of pocket to have a home birth would be well worth the investment. After calling around and doing some research online I interviewed a few midwives and decided that Dania was the one for me. Upon stepping foot into her office and talking with her I was immediately impressed and put at ease. She is extremely professional, warm and competent. I personally think that Dania was built to be a midwife. She is very well balanced in all the areas that are important for a successful home birth. -Patience, experience, professionalism, up-to-date knowledge and warmth- Every time an issue came up during my pregnancy her advice was invaluable and my issues (backaches, low energy) were resolved with 1-3 days. During the labor and delivery process I was at ease knowing that Dania was there to guide me and her timing with preparing my birthing room/supplies was impeccable. When we met with her before our son's birth, she took the words out of my mouth which gave me peace of mind and built my trust in her incredibly quickly. Fast forward to labor. I went into early labor on a Thursday afternoon and gave birth early on a Friday morning. She arrived promptly and immediately helped put my partner and me at ease so I could continue to labor at home and progressed to 9cm upon arrival at the hospital. She worked so well with my partner. She provided ongoing comfort measures, reassuring affirmations, and helpful suggestions to keep my confidence up and keep labor progressing at home. This allowed my partner to be my cheerleader which is exactly what I needed him to be as my number one supporter. Throughout the process Chloe amplified my wishes and needs allowing me to have the most empowering birth I could have wished for. I truly believe that Chloe was the difference between a repeat C-section and a VBAC for me. She was determined to help baby and me into positions that allowed gravity to help since my first labor was deemed "failure to progress" after 3 days of labor and 10cm dilated. Her suggestions not only helped this labor progress quickly but made me feel in charge of this birth. I still chat with Chloe during this postpartum period to ask questions and because she's just that awesome. It's been almost a year since I delivered my first baby and I still keep in touch with Chloe, she…read morehas the most kind and calming spirit and it's because of her that I had the most amazing birth experience. I had planned to have a typical doctor-led birth at a hospital with an epidural and Chloe walked me and my husband through what to expect at the hospital and I felt a lot of comfort knowing that I'd have her as an advocate to be sure I wasn't pressured into doing anything that I didn't want to do by hospital staff. Knowing that Chloe also works at Midtown Nurse Midwives, my husband and I asked her what our birth plan experience might look like should we choose that route and we instantly knew that the birth center birth was what we wanted. Now, you might be thinking, if the birth center has doulas, why would I need to hire one? Yes, you need to hire a doula! Chloe came to my house and supported me and my husband through early labor, which I feel like was the worst part for me! She did what she could to keep me comfortable, keep me hydrated, but most importantly - to help my labor progress. My labor lasted about 35 hours in total and when she wasn't with me, she was on the phone coaching my husband on what to do. In the end, I wound up getting the unmedicated birth that I wanted and know there is no way I would have gotten through it without Chloe. She is truly amazing! Chloe also checked in on my new little family a day or so after my babe was born and brought us the most delicious lentil dal, which lasted us several meals. And she dehydrated and encapsulated my placenta, which was very convenient with her attending my birth, she was able to take it straight from the birth center and then deliver with my postpartum visit. I think of her dearly when I reflect on my birth experience, she helped bring our daughter into this world and that is so special to share with someone. If we ever decide to have another babe, I will most definitely hire Chloe again, she is truly amazing! From the bottom of my heart, thank you Chloe, we love you!!!
