BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! Never in my life, have I experienced such terrible service and disrespect. I asked how much for wax my foot.. first she thought I asked for my lower leg. She quoted 35. I corrected her and said , " no, my foot. She quoted me 10. As she began to put wax on my toes. She then changed her mind and tries to charge me an extra 10 dollars to include the dorsal part of the foot. She went on to explain that she charges 7 dollars for the lip alone . I never in my life have paid 20 to wax my feet. I explained to her that I asked her the price PRIOR for a reason. If the price was above what I usually pay, I would never have agreed to it. I'll pay 15 not 20. She insults me and tells me she never had a client negotiate prices. They just accept it. Well lady. They probably just accept it cause they don't want a 1/2 fast job. Told her to just finish the toes and paid her, her overly priced 10 bucks wax job for my 5 hairs on my toes .
Made and appt. for 10:30, two days ago. Arrived at 10:35, but the store was locked and nobody was inside. Went back to my car to call (got voicemail.) Glad I waited for a few minutes, because 2 employees arrived another 5 minutes later. Pedicure by Julie was perfectly adequate. Nothing bad or spectacular. Mani by Kathy who was REALLY aggressive about me looking through her dip colors, even though I brought my own with me, and I showed her. Sat me in a pedi chair, and left another set of dip colors on the chair for me to look through. Again I said, "no thanks," as I wanted to use my own. (It's heat sensitive and changes colors. Also, I usually do my own, but didn't have the time which is why I came to a nail salon. And if any break or chip I can fix them myself, but need to have the same color on hand.) Glad I bought my own color, because when I get home, I'm going to need to file the topcoat off of this, add another layer of dip, and put a new topcoat on. Taking photos of specific issues with your nails is always really really difficult, because you're trying to take pictures of things that are very, very small. I know it doesn't look like much in the pictures, but in person it's NOT awesome. The topcoat is wavy and pocked. Three of my nails were filed on an angle, even though they were prepped for shape and length prior to my appointment. When I called to make the appointment, I asked for pricing. I was told $50 for a dip manicure and $25 for a pedicure. Had them do callus removal (used a pumice sponge) which was an additional $5, please see photo. Keep in mind this is an hour AFTER my pedicure. So when I asked Kathy what I owed her, she said $100. I couldn't figure out how she got there... she thought I had a gel pedicure, which is an additional $10. (But 50+25+5+10=90. Not 100.) We straightened out the gel issue, which should've made it $80, but she still said 90. That's when I found out that they charged $10 to remove the dip manicure that I walked in with. I've never been charged to remove previous dip manicure. (Removal meant sticking both hands into a bowl full of acetone for 30 minutes. I haven't had a manicure removed that way in YEARS.) When I called for pricing, why wouldn't she have told me that it was $50 for the manicure, plus $10 to remove? And I know that many people have commented about what a careful job they do there. So I wasn't expecting to be in and out quickly, but I was there for just short of three hours... and I think it's pretty obvious that I won't be back. Update: at 9pm, same day, I broke my first nail...
kathy did an amazing job on my custom design gel x nails! i wanted to get something for my bday as a taurus and favorite color green. since my nails are wide, it took a while to find the perfect nail shapes for me but kathy took her time to make sure everything looked good and fit well. come here to receive quality and personalized services!
4 words: best nail salon ever This nail salon is definitely recommended. I've seen a few comments stating that they walk in but they end up getting turned down or having to wait for 2 hours. Let me tell you why. This nail salon is not like your typical nail salon. Kathy really takes her time to make sure that she delivers a satisfying and beautiful result. Aside from nail salon services, I also get my eyelash extension from Kathy. Again. Highly recommended. She takes her time to make sure that the end product is so beautiful.
An overdue 5-star review for my favorite nail salon and nail artist, Kathy. I go here religiously and nowhere else because of the quality and professionalism Exotic Nails holds highly. No longer do I have to worry about getting overfilled nails that don't compliment my skin tone, an infection from a cut, or feeling rushed and unwelcome from getting my nails done. Kathy is amazing and makes me feel like I'm home every time. She is careful in her craft and articulate, and always produces results that exceeds my expectations. I absolutely love every manicure full set I have ever gotten from her. My nails grow slowly and are extremely sensitive and brittle, but Kathy treats them gently and shapes them as well as strengthens them for proper growth. I usually get a Gel X set which is perfect for anyone who finds acrylics too harsh or strong on their nail beds. She's the one who suggested them for me and I can never go back to acrylics now! Kathy keeps the salon clean and tidy, and always uses a fresh sanitized set of utensils per session. I appreciate cleanliness because I've gotten infections from other places that neglected sanitizing. Also I always set an appointment for my nails which should be more common practice for small businesses post-CoVid. I love communicating with her what I would like for my nails because she adjusts it to be better than what I planned. She is incredibly patient and kind- A true master at what she does! She's really one in a million when it comes to nail salons in this area.
Total rip off. To say the least. Stay away. Nails lifted in a week and I was charged $152 for gelx set and French tip pedicure. She said the "design" was $25-30 more that's why it was so much. I wouldn't call it a design it's more like a French tip with a line. I felt robbed after 2 nails popped of 6 days later.

Kathy was amazing! I called very last minute to see if she could squeeze me in today, she was so sweet on the phone and told me to come in today. The ambience is so relaxing. She was very easy to talk to and I really enjoyed our conversations. She listened to me, I showed her what I wanted and she knew exactly what to do. I am very happy with my nails. She took her time and worked really well, she spoke to me about what colors would look best. Now I feel confident for the event I will be attending. I would 100% recommend and will be a returning customer. read more

I decided to come back to Exotic Nails again, but this time I made sure to ask for KATHY. She seemed a lot more skilled at doing nails than the other ladies there and it really shows. I also liked that she was more gentle when working on my nails, because the other lady thinned out my nails so much that I was super traumatized from the experience. I asked Kathy for a complicated multi-colored ombre design and she totally did it the way I wanted! The whole process probably took over 2 hours and I ended up having to pay about 40 dollars (not the usual 25) because it was a complicated design. I was still happy with the results and I cannot stop looking at my nails! So I know....if I ever come back here, ask for Kathy only! As I mentioned in my previous review, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. They get really annoyed at walk-in customers because it is often really busy. These ladies are booked back to back. I have seem them turn away customers so yeah....it definitely does not hurt to call and make an appointment to avoid being turned away. read more

Just got a gel x set with Kathy. So so in love! She has such an eye for attention to detail and really perfected the polish painting and shape. Not only that, but she squeezed me in at the very end of the day, even though I bet she was exhausted. I really respect and appreciate her work ethic and I will definitely be back! read more

Two stars for being nice to me. My nails were done Thursday June 18 & nail polish is cracking like crazy. Already lost some nail polish, and there is black lines running through the polish because it's already chipping off/breaking. I think it was $70 with tip for gel mani pedi. $70!!!!!! And my nails only lasted LEAS THAN 3 days!!! It looked good the first day and then went down from there. Ugh so frustrating..... lady was so nice I feel bad but never going back. All the reviews are strictly for Kathy. I guess request Kathy if coming here. I did not get mine done by Kathy. read more

Called at 5:30 for a mani/pedi appt and Kathy told me to come on in. I walked out with the cutest nails, great pedi and :P wax. Ready for my weekend trip. Almost got my set of lashes too if it wasn't so late (I stayed way past closing on a weekday). She would've done them but I had to leave that for another day. She's so meticulous and so detail-oriented with everything she does! I'm going to continue coming here for all my beauty needs. Thank you Kathy. You're a lifesaver. read more

I've been going to this place for over 23 years , I was living in Diamond Bar. I moved to Eastvale, and I don't mind driving all the way to West Covina to get my nails and pedicure for I know they do the job very good and I'm very comfortable with them, Tina and Kathy. read more

Okay, I can't get over how much of an amazing job Kathy did! LOVE LOVE LOVE I found this nail shop on here, I got tired of paying so much money for nails I never really care for. I have been to shops all over La Puente and West Covina and i have to say this is going to be my go to now. Such great quality at an reasonable price! I called to make an appt and she said to come right in. It took her about 2 hours to do my nails, because she is a perfectionist. My shape was all the same, no air bubbles, no cuts on my cuticles. I did not feel rushed at all, was actually able to relax while getting my nails done. Kathy is so sweet and friendly, i will definitely be back tomorrow to get my lashes done. read more

So ...went here with my mom and they took us as walk ins. It was about a 20min wait and the lady's were super friendly. I will say they love to advertise their business quite a lot but I expect nothing more or less from people running their own business. Was really good service. Prices were weird only because a mani by itself is $25 but a mani and pedi $20. But again not complaining. Only bad thing is quality of the gel nail polish because usually it would last at least two weeks. But mine didn't even last one week. Now it could be a mix of cheap gel polish and my job requiring lots of hands work/labor. But the gel polish brand was some off brand I've never heard of. Other than that you get what you pay for so yup! read more

I walked in today at 11:45am. There were two people already getting their nails done but no one else was waiting. IT WAS EMPTY. I asked how much the gel manicure was and a lady told me $25. I said "okay I'd like one" she looked back at the lady in the picture who was doing someones nails and she nodded "no." The lady in front of me shrugged her shoulders and the one in back who had nodded said "sorry you need appointment, we don't have time." I said "oh ok thank u" and took a picture to note just how busy they were. I don't know of a single nail salon that doesnt take walk ins when the place is nearly empty. Girl, its a nail salon not a doctors office! Guess what guys, EXPERT NAIL & SPA is 5 minutes down Amar, they take walk ins with a SMILE , they close at 8pm and they charge $19 for an amazing gel mani read more

If I could give a 10 star review I would. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to. Not only are they kind but understanding to what you want and go the extra mile to deliver exactly that. I have never that gel x before and wanted a set and got more than I asked for for a very affordable rate. My set took her 2 hours and for the whole time she spoke to me caringly. Never once was I nicked or burnt like the usual nail appointments I had been to. She even went through her own personal gel colors to find one I liked when nothing on the swatches I liked. She sat their painting hearts on every finger of mine with care to get it right. And at the end of it she wouldn't even take my tip when she had earned it 1000%. She said to just come see her again as she enjoyed speaking with me. read more

All 5 of my sister's come here but I've always gone to whatever nail place was closer to my house I went yesterday and now I know why my sister's come here they are amazing they take their time and do such a great job my nails and toes came out so perfect and beautiful I received so many compliments my acrylic nails look so natural people thought they were my real nails I will now be coming here only this is truly the best nail place to go!
