We walked around the block a bit, but could not find a spot that really caught out eye. After a quick Google search around where we were, we ended up chosing this place because we loved the name. The interior of the restaurant definitely screams "Instagram-worthy" but it felt on brand. I mean, it's a restaurant that features avocados! Well, I ordered a bun burger (the "buns" are actually avocado halves) and it was definitely a very creative and delicious choice. It definitely was not as ~basic~ as an avocado toast. In fact, I was pleasantly shocked at how full I was after the meal. Only thing that I will critique were the "nachos" that came on the side. When I hear "nachos," I think of a pretty heavily loaded plate of chips and loads of toppings... or is that because I'm just thinking of Americanized nachos? I was laughing at the singular beans that were neatly placed on top of the small globs of sour cream (see picture). Overall, I'm very glad that we stumbled upon this place. The first day, we waited about 30 mins for lunch sandwiches, and they forgot the drink (even after we reminded them twice). Then finally we got it to-go at the end, but we couldn't remove it from the tab because we had already prepaid. It also started raining as a bunch of us were dining outside. They did not open the umbrellas or help relocate us to tables inside, we were on our own to scavenge for other seats in the middle of eating. Nevertheless, the food was still so good, we came back again. The second day, my iced latte just tasted like milk. I told the waitress they might've forgotten the espresso shot or could they remake it or add another shot, and she said I'd have to pay for another and that's how it always comes. Super rude and not the customer service we're used to in the US. We had spent $60 on breakfast and they wouldn't fix our drink?! Then, both bathrooms were out of toilette paper and they didn't seem to care or say thank you when I let them know. Just rude service but delicious food. After getting settled in with a connection I decided to sample one of their signature coffee drinks, a mocha with a chantilly cream topping and real chunks of Belgian chocolate at the bottom. I didn't know I needed it, but once I had it damn was I grateful. It was the perfect pick-me-up for the sour attitude I was experiencing after dealing with such bad customer service, and the gals here helped relieve some of that too. They were the open place close by for me so i was happy with what i got. We got moroccon tea, almond croissant, tomato & mozzarella panini, and freshly pressed orange juice.
