Oxygen sensor hitting frame

I reached out to exhaust works through yelp and Gina contacted me and provided some available times. It took a little time to schedule as I have limited availability myself but once I brought the car in, it was well worth the wait. Dan worked on my 2009 C6. Note that Stevens creek Chevrolet replaced the catalytic converters on a recall as part of some other work that was required and was the worst experience I ever had with car repairs. To make a long story short, they installed a faulty converter and damaged the oxygen sensor along a slew of other issues which I reported to GM. Dan at exhaust works corrected the faulty catalytic converter, he repositioned the oxygen sensor and the welding quality and overall quality of repair was outstanding. I had brought in a new GM oxygen sensor but was the incorrect part so as Dan was about to install, realized it wouldn't work. It was around 415 and I had to leave asap to pick up my son at daycare. Dan made a call to find an oxygen sensor, jumped in his own car and sped off to get the correct sensor, returned shortly and installed and got the car going minutes after his return. I have never seen service like this and it just made my day! When I received the bill, he even undercharged me for the time he put in. Dan is a perfectionist. Forgot to mention that the dealer bent the stud on the converter and damaged the threads as well and Dan corrected it all. I went to smog station after a short drive to reset and car passed and picked up my son before daycare closed. I am so happy to have my Vette back. Lesson learned, find a smaller local shop and if you are lucky enough to find someone like Dan that takes care of your car like it is his own, do it! Avoid service advisors that add no value and work on commissions. These days the staff at most dealerships are kids with zero experience. Thanks Dan and Gina, you restored my faith in honest repair shops. If I can rate 5+, I would!

Dan worked on my Lamborghini tirelessly for days to make the exhaust look perfect. He spent hours to make sure the tips are aligned and welds are perfect. He found unexpected work as parts are taken off, but never complained. He just put in the extra work to make custom parts and solved problems in his own time. This guy takes pride in his workmanship, if you need quality work, this is the place in the Bay Area.

I unfortunately have to update my review after taking my car to another muffler shop and they shared some information on how this shop installed my exhaust. I'm now out $8,000 because of the install that Todd did due to welding (which wasn't suppose to happen and I wasn't aware that it was welded on) and in addition to this, he tightened a clamp that he purchased (which was meant for trucks) to the car and the clamps he used damaged my $1,500 midpipe. I got quoted roughly $2,000 (1,500 for the midpipe and $500 for the install/fix) because my $6,000 exhaust has to be fixed from the welding job he did. Super unhappy with all the news I received and I wouldn't recommend taking a euro car to this shop for any exhaust work. Find a better shop that specializes in euros. To Todd's credit, he did tell me that he was having issues with the install and I told him if he could figure it out to do it but I shouldn't have done that. Regardless I wish I had went somewhere else because I'm SOL at this point if I ever decide to sell the exhaust/midpipe.

As another reviewer wrote, "Dan is the Man!" He truly is an artist with his craft. I had a "wicked works" muffler and tip placed onto my Corolla and Dan was meticulous and very detailed oriented with placement of the new exhaust. I was completely satisfied with his efforts and the pipe is absolutely beautiful!

All respect to Dan the Man! :-D

If you're looking for great service and an honest appraisal of what you need look no further! I can't thank Dan enough for all the work he did verifying that I DID NOT NEED to have work I REQUESTED-even though he simply could have. Instead, having over 40 years in the industry, he could tell by looking that whatever what setting off my CEL for misfires wasn't the catalytic convertor... that he just went and picked up at my request-at the end of day-on a FRIDAY-when he could have just said, " Sorry, come back on Monday." He did a LOT of work and checked all the way back to confirm no obstructions-and charged me a pittance. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to have him work on my tired old car. Incredible to find integrity hasn't left all of CA! THANK YOU DAN! -Jonny

Was referred to Todd by another mechanic due to a rattling exhaust, but soo glad I found this shop. Todd was super helpful and friendly. I enjoy the vibe of the shop and Todd style. He's been in the business for decades. - quick turnarounds -affordable pricing -quality work -very accommodating Ended up getting a custom exhaust for my e30. Will definitely come back for more service.

Why would I come back? To get denied for another service? I am totally taken back today with this situation. I really hope you put this into consideration for your company. Especially if your Yelp staff is encouraging your customers to book their appts online for a "discount". They told me what would be involved and that they would not be able to work on it without it costing a fortune. A less than honest shop might've tried to soak me for a repair job that ends up costing more than expected. I know, because others have tried that. These guys gave me an honest appraisal, and I remembered that when choosing a shop to work on my wife's car. We had just bought a 2006 BMW 330 ci, and like clockwork, just after the 30-day warranty expired, we had problems. It had just rained torrentially for three straight days and unbeknownst to us, the drainage ports in the trunk were completely clogged, allowing water to build up and penetrate to the electrical system. We noticed the dash lights, indicators, and steering wheel controls did not work. We brought it to Toole's with the hope that it was something easily diagnosed and fixed. It wasn't. To keep an already long story from getting much longer, I will just say that it was a 4-day-long diagnosis as the problem component(s) were not easily found, even with advanced diagnostic equipment. They sought out expert advice from other professionals who specialize in BMWs. The problem component was found and replaced. I originally agreed to three hours of labor, but since it went as long as it did, I happily agreed to an extra hour. So essentially, they stuck to the agreement plus a reasonable additional amount. I tried to add on a tip but they wouldn't accept it. We bought them pizzas instead. I recommend this shop because they're honest, friendly professionals who seem to really want to help out their customers while running a respectable business.

I was a little frustrated because they told me the problem was fixed. I immediately brought the back, had it re-diagnosed, and was later told there is another issue which would cost $700 (after a bit of a discount), and there could be more after that. It's an older car, but with relatively low mileage for its age (20 year old Lexus sedan with 105k miles). At least this time I was told there are potentially other underlying issues, which could be cost prohibitive. After this second round of repairs, I was told they'd have to partially take apart the engine because "it could be..." I didn't want to continue this process if they weren't even sure what the problem is and I would have to pay them more so they could "maybe find" what is causing the check engine light. They seemed to be more diligent this second time, and took a little more care to see if the check engine light issue was fully resolved. Good on them for their second effort. I wish they could have done a more thorough check the first time instead of it seeming so exploratory. Maybe that's how the problem had to be discovered, but it felt like it was more process of elimination than a targeted solution. I can disconnect and reconnect my battery and get the same results of the check engine light off for a few days. I took the car back now $2400 lighter in the pocket, unclear if the two parts they replaced may have still been functioning, and with my check engine light still on. I feel it was a misdiagnosis of the problem initially. If they properly diagnosed the problem, my decision making would have been different. Instead, I feel as if I got strung along for two payments if I wanted to have my car back that I still can't register.
