Do you service/repair Bowflex M5 trainers? I have a 2 yr old machine that is stuck at the highest intensity level. I'm certain I can get new parts for free, just need install work.

Good afternoon Lamanda, Unfortunately we do not work on the Bowflex trainers. Sorry we could not be of assistance.… Read more

My 18-year-old Landice treadmill finally died on me. So as I was in the market for a new treadmill…read more I'd actually purchased my old treadmill from Fitness Unlimited "back in the day". And while I did shop around online and visited a few other stores, I also decided to stop in to fitness Unlimited to see what they had. While the store has an overall modest footprint, they have an pretty decent selection of treadmill, elliptical, stationary bikes, rowers, etc. Mr. Andy, the store manager, couldn't have been more professional, friendly, and helpful. He took the time to explain to me the various aspects of different treadmills and ellipticals. I was curious about the rowers, but ultimately decided against those. Ultimately, Mr. Andy offered what I thought was a good deal on a high-quality treadmill. He also arranged a convenient time for the treadmill to be delivered and installed. I should also note that the gentleman who delivered install the treadmill were fantastic. They got my old treadmill down from the third floor, and installed the new one (back up to the third-floor), in less than 45 minutes. It was extremely impressive. So, I would recommend Fitness unlimited, and Mr. Eddie, without reservation. I would absolutely recommend you at least visit there before making a purchase elsewhere, as I suspect you would find pretty comparable prices. And certainly outstanding service.

Also, my cobbled-together collection of dumbbells was starting to take over my living room. So I did some research and settled on PowerBlock adjustable dumbbells as the solution, and proceeded to check out a few stores in Houston that carried them. The sales guy at the first store only showed me the lightest model they carry which, at the rate I'm going, I felt that I would outgrow in about a year or less. He then proceeded to tell me that most women don't want to get too bulky so I should probably stick with the lower weights / higher reps. The leanest, strongest women I know are not "bulky" and they lift heavier than the highest weight load on the model he was pushing. So, yeah, I wasn't super into hearing the crap he was trying to sell me. Second place didn't have what I wanted either, and I finally ended up at Fitness Unlimited feeling ready to give up. Glad I stopped in here because Andy was super helpful and encouraging and showed me what I was actually looking for -- a set of PB's that went up to a respectable weight, with the option to purchase heavier expansion packs down the road. He didn't once make me feel like I was buying "too much" or that I should be looking at anything lower. I have used these dumbbells quite a bit since purchasing them, and I couldn't be happier! They are heavy enough to where I don't have to worry about out-growing them, while also giving me the opportunity to start lifting heavier once I get stronger. If I ever do need the expansion weights I'll definitely hit up this place again.

However, once you get it home you have seven days to make sure it works right. Afterwards, forget about options to return. Sadly, my elliptical didn't work out of the box and their repairman took two weeks to fix it. Now, I have a device that doesn't feel right to my stride, one whose LED lights aren't observable unless I squat down a few inches while running. The store holds strong to my two options: return it and pay more for a better unit or sell it to your neighbor. Everyone seemed very helpful to recommend, to charge my credit card and even get me home. Now I realize they aren't as helpful after seven days... even when the unit didn't work for the first two weeks. Be really cautious here. These are expensive units and your two minute exercise in the store to "feel" the machine doesn't represent the same mechanics you'll expect in a serious workout. It's much cheaper to buy a gym membership. My two thousand dollar ellipical certainly doesn't feel as good as the gym. Further, they never feel the same at home as they do in the store. Sadly, there is no way to learn that until you get it home. I found the sales rep to be amazingly friendly until after I purchased my machine. When things went wrong, I saw their true colors.

So far all we've done is make a purchase, so I'll update this review once the equipment is in- and functioning well. But the buying experience was well received. I didn't feel overly pressured and the pricing relative to the quality of the machines they sell there seems very fair.

The guy had told us we had a 90 day warranty since we paid 4500 dollars for the treadmill. He kept ignoring us and telling us how he has never sold a treadmill that had an issue. Well this one does and that is why warranties should be in place. He stopped replying, wouldn't take calls and now we are having to have a technician come out to fix it and he is not willing to pay the bill. WOW!! Save yourself some grief and do not do business with him. We will be contacting the Better business bureau.

Not only did he have exactly what I was looking for, he had several different versions I was able to test out and I ended up going home with a model I preferred. 23 Fitness has a great selection of high-quality equipment, and Ken and his partner are that perfect mix of personable and professional. I found the prices to be very fair, the condition of the equipment stellar, and Ken very knowledgeable and accommodating. We are going through such a strange time right now -- if you need to get some more exercise at home and feel frustrated about back-orders and leery about contact with craigslist people, I highly recommend heading out to Brenham to get what you need. It is ABSOLUTELY worth the trip.

I wish other businesses took a lesson from him on how to deal with customers. From the very beginning, communication has been excellent. One example was when I emailed him to let him know that my treadmill would be outside until we could get some movers to move it into the house and would that be an issue. He immediately called me to tell me that I should aim to get the equipment into the house asap due to electrical components potentially freezing and possibly having issues. He also stated should I not be able to, to put blankets specific areas of the treadmill to ensure that the components would be kept warm. Very few business owners, much less business representatives would even reach out to a customer directly to inform them of potential issues. Anyway, fortunately we were able to find movers to move the treadmill into the house the same day the treadmill arrived at our house. I waited several hours as Jose suggested to just ensure all components reached room temperature and tried the treadmill just this past Monday. Everything worked and now I have a commercial treadmill at home. This will go hand-in-hand with our new Peloton Bike+ coming next month! I look forward to getting many, many years of use out of our treadmill and buying an elliptical from USA Fitness in the future. Best regards, David
