I used to love Ms Moore aka Mr Kutcher's better half, AKA-Demi. But this is not about AKA Demi…read more This is about Academy. Academy is one of Barbie's favourite companies and she actually introduced me to it the first time and takes me to Academy on a regular basis for sportswear, shopping and shoe shopping and whatnot. They're great store and sometimes you can find great deals here. At other times there are no deals to be found. It depends on the day and the store. They generally seem friendly, although I do think the company at the corporate level - which is represented by this page - does have several issues. I mean let's not forget this is the same company that fired somebody for physically stopping a criminal from stealing guns and ammo from a store in Florida. They're a multi-state multi-billion type corporation now and I can't give a company 5 stars that does that, but Barbie definitely gives the corporation five stars and loves visiting them on a regular basis, and I have to agree that they are pretty damn good. I mean especially compared to Dick's who I can't say enough bad things about.

The store manager really needs to change her attitude and actually care for their customers. Michelle (if memory serves me correct) brought me a pair of shoes and then walked away. She never once asked if they worked for me, she didn't show me clearance shoes or deals they had going on. Neither did any of the other staff members, it was as if the customers were a nuisance to them. This store needs a complete overhaul and I hope corporate reads this. I would drive down to La Grange, Sealy or whichever is the closest location. At least at those locations they care about customers and make you feel appreciated.

Love the fake mountain that you can climb on to test out the KEEN hiking shoes. While you are there add some SmartWool socks. These are the best! Since there was a suggested packing list, I also added a new waterproof camera case, a crossbody hiking bag, a small flask style 500 ml water bottle and new hiking poles. Check out their sale section. My KEEN water shoes were 50% off and were shipped to me for free. Perfect for water entry hiking days to see sea turtles, Galapagos sea lions and Blue-Footed Boobies.
