After calling their competitor Old Town cleaners we were told to bring it in this evening (spoke to them at 4:30) and they said they would make sure to have it dry cleaned and ready by tomorrow morning. The owner of Spiffy's was very apathetic to our situation and just said, well it isn't ready when we reminded him he had promised to have it ready by today. I will never use this business again and highly recommend anyone needing dry cleaning to go elsewhere. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

The only reason I decided to give this business 3 stars is because the owner is very nice. Otherwise, I was unhappy with the results of my alterations. I had a bridesmaids dress that was about 2-3 sizes too small, and when I initially took in the dress to be altered, we agreed on taking one of the two inner liners out to widen the hip and to take the chiffon off the bottom of the dress to add panels to the sides. When I picked up the dress, I noticed that the panel was added to the back of the dress, and both liners were still intact and unaltered. While the dress does zip now, the seamstress altered the dress improperly and now there is a large wad of extra material near my lower back and the bust area is far too large. I took it to two more seamstresses since receiving it back from Y and Mai and both agreed that the alterations were botched. I understand that three weeks is a very short amount of time to alter a dress and I didn't expect the results to be perfect, but I at least expected accurate measurements and decent work. If one has a simple alteration (i.e., hem), I'm sure this tailor shop would be excellent. Prices are great and I'm sure they do great work. However, I'm just not sure if she was able to take on a project like my dress alterations and now I'm having to get it re-altered three days before the wedding.

Owner told me they would call me by Thursday so my daughter could come try on dress. No call. I also could not get an answer on their phone or leave a message. Their phone did not accept messages so I personally went down to their shop only to find a sign on the door saying the shop was closed that day. (It's normally open on Fridays or so their sign says.) Worse yet, their sign said it would NOT BE OPEN UNTIL THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY----days AFTER the gown was required. No emergency contact number was provided even though they KNEW the deadline on this gown. I finally called the city's business licensing department and managed to obtain from them the store owner's emergency number. Turned out, as the ticket on the dress noted: "We lost his (sic) contact number." The owner did not express any apologies for their disastrous mistake. The "quality" of the alterations was HORRIFIC. The hem was uneven, beads were missing from the top portion of the dress (they were intact when taken in!) and she GOUGED me on the price. She charged me 2.5 times the quoted price of "$60.00 and maybe as high as $100." Bill for a shoddily altered $600 dress was $158.00. Do NOT even think about using them.

However, my…read morerecent experience regarding a vintage leather fringe coat I intended to sell for my business was extremely disappointing. Given my experience over the past few years including significant delays in the return of my daughter's wedding dress after preservation, as well as the damage to this vintage coat I would advise others to use extreme caution when considering this company. When I brought in the coat, I clearly informed the attendant that it was vintage leather. I was confident in this, but the attendant argued that it was faux leather after briefly inspecting it. I explained that, given the age of the coat, I did not believe faux leather would have been used at that time. Despite this, she insisted it was not leather and assured me it could be processed through standard dry cleaning. Based on her confidence, I trusted her judgment, although I was asked to sign a waiver prior to service. A week later, I was contacted and informed that the coat had been damaged during the dry cleaning process. When I returned to discuss the situation, the attendant acknowledged that the coat was, in fact, leather and admitted that sending it to a leather specialist would have prevented the damage. Despite this, I was told they had attempted repairs through their seamstress and that I would be responsible for the cost. I requested to speak with the owner, Forrest Ward, and was told he would contact me. After waiting over a week and leaving follow-up messages, I did not receive a response. Instead, I was later contacted by a manager who informed me the coat could not be repaired. During that conversation, responsibility was shifted onto me, citing the condition of the coat rather than acknowledging the improper cleaning method. Overall, I found the handling of this situation to be unprofessional and lacking accountability. As a long-term customer, I expected better communication, ownership of the mistake, and a reasonable resolution. As of 03/07/26 I still have not had my coat returned to me. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this dry cleaning company.
