When something seems too good to be true...it probably is! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! I found a Priceless car rental for $38 for 4 days! Amazing! Is this true? Four days for the cost of 1?! I arrived at the airport rent a car shuttle pick up and had to wait extremely long in the freezing cold! I was there so long the driver of the Enterprise shuttle offered to let me wait on his shuttle so I wouldnt have to wait in the cold. He notified me that Executive Car Rental is a new company and they always take a long time to pick up customers.
When they finally arrived, the driver was very polite. I was frustrated, but I decided to be patient since they were a "new company". Upon arriving to the rental place, I learned that I wasn't the only one complaining of the excessive long wait for the shuttle. One lady said she had been waiting there for 30 minutes and she was about to miss her flight! The CS rep apologized for the long wait and stated they only have one shuttle in the evenings!
Everything went smoothly with check in and picking up my vehicle and all was good...until...the next day when I got a flat tire! I called the company, notified them what happened and inquired on what to do next. Since I used my own insurance, they told me to call my insurance company and have them fix my flat tire then come back to the rental place and they will exchange it. I was a nervous wreck and they calmed me down, ensured me that everything would be ok and taken care of, all I needed to do was to return the car for an exchange. I asked if I would have to make a claim with my insurance or anything and again, they told me just bring it in and they will exchange it. Great! After all I had the car for 3 more days and I did not want to be driving around on a spare.
Upon my arrival to the rental place, I spoke to the customer service rep. He immediately told me that I had to file a claim with my insurance and pay the deductible. I told him that that was not what I was told when I called and I refuse to file a claim and pay a deductible 1. Because I wasn't originally told I had to, 2. I wasn't going to pay a deductible for a freaking flat tire! I asked to speak to the manager I spoke with earlier and the cs rep said he was waiting for him to call back. In the meantime, he kept trying to pressure me to file a incident report and a claim with my insurance. I told him I was not doing that because I was not told that I had to all I was told was to bring it back and it would be exchanged. Needless to say, they manager I spoke to never called back (in fact I'm not even sure if he called him, because he took the phone and went to the back office to make the call and then returned). He continued trying to make me file a claim and refused to exchange the vehicle. I told him that because that is not what I was told, I was not filling out a claim and I would wait until I speak with the manager before I pay anything. So he tried to take confiscate the car by taking the keys away from me. When he learned the keys were still in the car, he tried to beat me to the car so he could take the keys. He got into a pushing match with me trying to push me out the way to get to the drivers side door to take the keys. My brother was sitting in the car and I called to him to take the keys instead. Once we had the keys, the cs rep stood in front of the drivers side door and stated he wasn't going to let me get in. I got in on the passengers side and I left.
To recap:
-I was told to bring in the car and they would exchange it.
-I inquired about having to pay for the flat tire through my insurance and I was told don't worry about it, just bring it in and we will exchange it.
-Upon my arrival a CS rep told me I had to file a claim and pay a deductible for the flat tire.
-I refused and requested to speak to the manager I spoke to earlier, and was denied.
-The CS rep refused to exchange the vehicle, pushed me, and tried to take the rental I had already paid for away.
This was horrible and the worst CS I have ever received in my entire life!!
Upon returning the vehicle at the end of my rental, they still tried to make me file a incident report and file a claim with my insurance. I still refused. The manager I spoke with still wasn't available. I explained the incident to the manager on duty and he told me he did not believe my account of what happened and that their CS reps are trained to handle incidences like these. I asked if they were trained to be disrespectful to their customers, push their customers, pressure their customers to file a claim with their insurance company?
In closing, the price is right. But its too good to be true. You have to wait excessively long for the shuttle to pick you up and the customer service is absolutely horrible! But as long as you do not get a flat tire (which is likely in Detroit because their road are absolutely horrible!!!) you should be ok :) NOT! This is a scam! read more
