Again, due to an unfortunate set of affairs it was not easy for me to track down our vehicle but eventually I discovered it was towed to Waynes. By the time I spoke with someone at Waynes, I was pretty stressed out. The lady that answered my call was patient, professional and very helpful in guiding me through the process. Sandy is the lady that calmly and clearly explained to me what I needed to obtain and bring in prior to retrieving our vehicle. Once we finally arrived to pick up our impounded vehicle I was pleasantly surprised at how organized and clean the inside of the building was. There was a spacious, inviting area for those waiting for their vehicle to be serviced. Sandy came out to greet us and get us set up and on our way. I have always been very bad when dealing with tight parking spaces so I was very grateful for the guy in the tow yard that pulled our car out of a crazy tight space. I first tried to do it but panicked and asked him to help me out... he did so without one word of complaint. The car was in good condition. We drove off the lot and went home safely. Whew! I have a friend who's daughter brought her 2019 Chevy Equinox to this shop for engine repairs back in late August early September. Now her going here by herself she didn't fully understand what she was getting into without having knowledge of auto repairs or someone else who had the knowledge. Honestly though she shouldn't have needed anyone else if this shop owner was an honest and principled person. But because the shop owner is neither of these he took full advantage of this young lady's lack of automotive knowledge. First he quoted her an engine repair of $2300, he had her pay the full amount in advance and only gave her a partial receipt for that payment. He then proceeds to keep giving her the run around as to when the repairs would be done but at the same time telling her the vehicle would be ready by certain days that came and went. Every time her car supposedly was going to be ready he had a last minute repair to it or he wasn't available. Finally after a month of empty promises he informs this young lady that repairs are costing more than he quoted her and he would need to charge her more money! This is a 25 year old that works full time and has children to take care of. Of course that didn't matter to this guy, all he cared about was taking advantage of someone's child! Needless to say the repairs are not complete and the vehicle was retrieved and will be taken to a reputable repair shop. Please Detroiters be aware of this ingenious business and its behavior. We should never tolerate this type of treatment in our community.
