After the repairs was made, I found out that I had a starter issue, which was odd because I hadn't had any issues with my starter beforehand. They started the work on the starter. I come back to pick up my car. I get home. My car is not starting. I take my car back up to Sam's to find out what's going on with it somehow they get the car back started. I'll take the car home again my car doesn't start. Now this is twice. I bring my car home from Sam's and the car isn't running. I take the car back up to Sam's with the same complaint. Hey my car will not run after I get it home. The manager of the shop starts to make up all type of is ex extremely issues with the vehicle that I didn't have prior to, but now it's all of a sudden stopping my vehicle From running. Whole time they purchased the wrong starter for my vehicle. The new mechanic stated that he was able to pull the bolt out of the starter that held it in place without turning it. He just was able to pull the bolt out. He purchased the right starter! Installed the right starter and my car has not stopped running since I brought it back from the new mechanic. The only thing the manager did right was refund my money for the starter. The damage was already done because I spent 10 weeks in rental cars that cost me a over $3000.

Henry, who must be the proprietor despite the name of the shop, is an old-school grease monkey who is plain-spoken and quick with a quip. He and his crew are thorough, polite and efficient. Here is the caveat: you are paying a premium for the service and "staying local," as the term is used. In other words, an oil change may cost a bit more at Sol's that. A Quick-Lube chain shop. That premium becomes pro rata higher as the repair becomes more expensive. I believe in supporting local business, and I am very loyal to Sol's, but the last time I went in and learned the a/c compressor needed replacement on my Lincoln, it would have been between $600-$1,000 more at Sol's than other shops nearby. (Sol's was $2,250; I found competitors charging anywhere from $1,350-$1,750.)

Had my car towed there and was told I needed a major tune up, cool authorized them to do the job came to pick my car up it "needed " an engine, cool paid for the tune up $775 then turned around and paid $3800 same day because they said I needed a new engine. Allegedly put in a refurbished engine told me it would take a week and ended up taking two weeks only to get my car back and needed a new engine in less than 2 weeks smh!! No communication! I have to call every hour for no results. I WILL NEVER BRING MY CAR TO HOLBROOK AGAIN!!!
