These guys took care of us Yes the check in, in the middle of the night, was painstakingly slow; they're obviously understaffed. These guys took care of us, above and beyond enterprise or any other agency ever has. Shawn was the clerk that took care of me. 5 Stars solely comes from him and how he caught something I wouldn't have looked at twice Upon stumbling for my DL, he saw my military ID and told me this company really takes care of veterans and military. And they did. The upgrade was more than I could ever ask for Thanks again dudes read more

Now this is a story, All about how, My vaycay got flipped, turned upside down, And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how they do business that's just not any fair. In East Michigan, I came to play, Wanted to visit a friend for a couple of days, Chillin' out, maxin' relaxin' all cool, See a Tiger's game, chill at an indoor pool, When a couple of guys, who were up to no good, Started charging charges that were totally lewd, I had to fight and fight, and I got really scared, That my $250 would disappear into thin air. I called them for help, they said my refund was near, The tone of voice said, "BS", no resolution was clear I researched, saw ECR fraud wasn't rare, But I wasn't going to forget, this total nightmare. I called up to the counter about seven or eight times, And I explained to the employees, yo homes, refund me now, not later After more than two months, it was finally there, I had to involve the BBB and my credit card, thanks for letting me share. read more

Don't be fooled by the low prices! I had a very poor experience from the beginning. The shuttle service claims it runs every 15 minutes, but it took over 35 minutes to arrive. Once we got to the service center, there was one guy to serve the 3 in line and each person took 20+ minutes each. When it was my turn to show my Reservation i needed to show proof of insurance. I've never had to do this before in the state of Michigan. I also have never had a car company not accept the policy within my credit card. We proceeded to call my insurance to see if it covered the rental and the service agent called over speaker phone which was very unprofessional as i had to say my personal items loud for all to hear. End of the day i cancelled my reservation and took an Uber. read more

Don't plan on getting your $250 deposit back. (period) AND, give them a call before renting via a website--I tried calling today to chase my refund (now nearly 70 days after car drop off), and the phone was disconnected... The people were all very nice. It's unfortunate they work for such a fraudulent/deceptive/nefarious place. read more

Super helpful people especially Shawn! Not to mention they are easy to rent from and the shuttle will pick you up and drop you off at the airport with no hassle!! Thanks guys definitely a better start to my vacation!! read more

We were pleased with the speed of service and quality of vehicle but even more importantly, we found what I thought was a burn of melted leather in the back after I left the center with the car. I was nervous the whole trip that I'd be liable for it but the guy saw it and said it was glue or something and thanked us for being honest. We weren't charged for it. Nothing better than a company that rewards customers for honesty. read more

First time using this car rental service and I was pleased. The price was less than the competitors and the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. Finding the pick-up spot was a challenge because since.it was such a new rental service the stop is in the opposite direction from the other rental pick-up stations. So, don't go with the masses. The shuttle was clean and the driver let us know when to come back to return the car so that we had ample time for getting to our flight. The wait was slightly longer than the advertised every 15 minutes, but not horrible. One thing that is different is that the company asks for primary car insurance policy, which I don't think I've done before. Car was clean and great running condition. Will definitely rent from them again. read more

If you needed to rent a car, I tell you this was a GREAT PLACE to do business was with. It's off site at DTW airport but, it's worth the extra ride to Wick Road. They do have shuttle service. John the rental agent was very efficient and personable. He even called When our flight arrived at the airport ! ( Who does that these days?) Renting was fast, easy and, the price was Right! Beware of this company. They will not honor your reservation. My flight was delay one day due to the recent snow storms. I spoke to the Pensacola agent in advance and explained that I would be a day late. She said no problem, we will see you tomorrow. I arrived and was told I don't have a reservation and need to book one. Now the price went from $20 a day to $110 but "they would help me out" by only charging $60 (triple the quoted rate!). I called their corporate line and was told my original quote, the one that the local branch said didn't exist, was $110 a day and not $20. I told her that $110 is the total price, not daily price. She said I was wrong that she was looking at it. Well see my attached copy and you will see I was NOT wrong. By the way the local agent said "my economy car" was not available so I had to pay for the mid-size car upgrade. You will see that my quote was for a mid-size car, not an "economy car". read more

I rented a car while in Michigan. Great place great prices. Shuttle bus from the airport and back when you return the car. Fast and friendly employees. Definitely will use again. read more

Gave them 1 star because that was the lowest I could give. This was a nightmare!! The shuttle is at the other end of the pick up area and not near the other rental car bus pick up section. There are absolutely no signs at the Detroit Airport directing you where to catch the bus. Another bus driver told me that you have to call them for a pick up. When I called the number I was told in less than a split second that I was eighth in line and then put on hold. After about 5 minutes the call dropped. I called back and was told the van was on the way. When the van got to the rental car pick up area there were about 5 of us there to get the cars. I cannot express how slow the process was to finally make it to the counter. The lady tried to up sell me on the vehicle and insurance which is normal. What was not normal was the question "are you going to leave the state?" I said yes as we are visiting Toledo. She said there would be a $60 fee for leaving the state of Michigan. Eye roll here !! She went on to say that if I did not pay the $60 and it was found that I did go into Ohio that there would be a $300 fee! I asked her how they would know and she said toll roads. Either this was not what management was intending and explained horribly or the worst money grab on Earth. People, this is a second rate rental car company. It was a bit cheaper on Travelocity where I booked the rental but not worth the savings. Please think twice about EVER using their services!!! read more

After a car accident it is very hard to reclaim your brain, body, or life. Thankful that the claims department assisted with some long awaited documents so that I can move along with the experience. They are busy, they are extremely helpful, and when it comes to my life they helped me tremendously by allowing me to have the safest vehicle on the road which was totalled due to another driver. Thank God I am safe and sound in which could have been catastrophic. So for that, I am grateful for their willingness to go above and beyond. Thank you doesn't seem like enough! Cheers read more

I rented a car at DTW. I was upgraded to a bigger for wheel chair accommodation, not much more than my original price quote. I was able to use a debit card and the transaction was relatively smooth. I had no issue what so ever I will definitely use them again. The Cons: Their shuttle bus does not accommodate people with wheel chairs. meaning if you can,'t walk up the 2 or 3 shuttle bus stairs you are out of luck. The company charges you the whole rental amount plus the $250 Deposit and then you get a refund of the $250 about 2-3 business days after the rental is completed. From my past experiences with other companies the hold only last a day or so and then they charge you after. this was no problem for me but if you are a person who is pressed for the $250 then you may want to explore other options. read more

Would seriously never rent from this company again! My husband waited for the shuttle for over 45 minutes (even after making a reservation and calling ahead). They said "they were on their way" which was a total lie. Then he waited in a long line for an additional 30 minutes at the rental office during which the shuttle came 3 different times... so they were basically ignoring him at the airport. Terrible customer service when we tried calling about it. Seriously never again - should have went with ANY of the other rental car companies at the airport we've never had this big of a problem before. read more

I'm not a fan of the company's policy that you must pick up the car within two hours, and was extremely nervous watching people in front of me get denied their booking. However, one employee (Rabea -- sorry if that's spelled incorrectly) was truly exceptional and helped us get exactly what we needed, reassuring us the entire time. He was polite, knowledgeable, and made sure our experience went smoothly. If not for him, I'd be leaving a 2.5 star review!!! read more

First , I got a rental (Dodge Journey) in pretty good shape. I picked up the car May 2, 2019 at night and returned it around 7 AM May 5. The price at $82 was very good. I used my credit card policy to cover any damage. The shuttle picked me up after about 15 min, not bad. Calling them is very difficult. You get put on hold. Service picking up the car was good. The facility is located away from the main rental agencies in lot that is in bad shape with potholes. I can deal with that. The lot was fairly well lit. Since I could not do a thorough inspection for damage I was told to take a picture the next day to document any if found. there are no obvious sign directing you to the facility on the way back and I got lost temporarily, but no problem entered the street address on GPS and found my way back. Upon returning the car I found only 1 employee running the whole place including checking out the vehicle outside. Even though I was among the second customer, he came out and asked several of us to move the cars to another spot. He then said I had damage to the vehicle. Upon checking the bumper I noticed about a 1/16th to 1/8 of an inch scratch on the bumper that had a slight paint peel but no damage to the bumper itself. Mind you, all other rental agencies do not consider this damage unless much larger. He said they were not other agencies and started being confrontational as I was getting upset. I had to wait till he was checking in many others outside. I finally went and took a picture and said it was for my lawyer. His whole tune changed after that and said the damage was noted in his computer and backed off. This is the reason they get 1 star . You can still get a good deal if you are careful and meticulously document any damage (none in this case) via photos as soon as possible. I will try and avoid this company at all costs unless I have no other choice. read more

Rented through Priceline almost a month ago. Had to wait more than 30 minutes while they called my insurance company, then spent another 10 minutes of them trying to convince me to get a vehicle in a class I did not want. For some reason they were trying to get me to take a larger car (minivan vs. compact). I have a charge almost 5 times the price of the rental on my credit card. I called them about it, was put on hold for almost 20 minutes, and when someone finally came back on the line, they offered to process a credit over the phone. Asked when they had planned on processing the refund if I had not called, and was told by the lady that she did not know. Someone else suddenly came on the line and told me that they had other calls waiting and disconnected my call abruptly. I was shocked by this level of customer service. I will never rent from them again, and I do not recommend. read more

Honestly, this will absolutely be the first and last time that I book with Executive Car Rental. Customer service was fine but the car that I received was absolutely disgusting. In addition to the stained seats, cracked windshield, multiple dings on either side of the vehicle, it smelled VERY much like marijuana and was filthy throughout. The location is off the beaten path away from all of the other rental facilities and it was just a very uncomfortable situation. Other than the customer service being good, I honestly would just rather go with a company that takes better care of their vehicles. Hopefully I don't get charged for any of these damages that were previously on the vehicle. We shall see.. read more

Shuttle was "15 minutes away" for 30 minutes. One agent doing literally everything, so the line took forever. Agent lies about insurance and collision requirements and uses the overly-confusing rental agreement to scam people, misleading you into buying insurance that they refuse to refund even though I had insurance coverage already. Avoid at all costs, the cheap price is quickly outweighed by $50 a day in fraudulent charges. read more

This place has a young scam artist working there. Tried to pin two scratches on back to back customers (including me) early morning May 5. Combat Veteran Detroit Airport review. I travel for business. Update; The issue is not the insurance or crappy upgrade that I didn't even want. I found a rental car through Priceline. As always, I purchased rental insurance as well. I booked about a month in advance give or take. I received a confirmation call the day before my flight. I had a few questions, the representative answered them all. Then I realized that my maiden name and my married name did not match on my credit card and what was on my license. I asked the representative if this would be an issue. He said he would call back in 20 minutes but never did. About an hour later I received another confirmation call from a woman this time and told her about my question she told me she wasn't calling about that. OK. A few hours pass and I call back and reach John, the manager at the Detroit location. I asked him if I could use my marriage license and he said they would accept it. I did tell him that I didn't want to run into any issues if they agent isn't used to this process as I was on a time constraint. He said he would put it in the notes in the computer. He was friendly and helpful. He mentioned that I would have to call when I got to the shuttle area. The shuttle driver was great. The agent at the desk was absolutely horrid. We started out with friendly chatter and that quickly changed. I mentioned that I was used to driving an SUV and with snow in the forecast I was going to be a little nervous in a small sedan. She proceeded to offer me an upgrade for a Jeep for almost double the price! When I rejected she said "ok, the lowest I can give you is $118, you won't find that anywhere" i responded with a thanks, but no thank you. Her response was "good because we will be needing them" Before I used my card I let her know that my name was different but that I had spoke with John and he assured me that there were notes. She said "I don't know" and had a troubling and puzzled look on her face. She DID NOT take a copy of my marriage license like he mentioned and she seemed very hesitant. I didn't understand why there was an issue if her manager said it was ok. She then asks for my personal insurance company name and my vehicle on the policy. I was confused because I thought I was covered with the insurance I purchased through Priceline. She told me to call and cancel through them. I don't understand why it was offered when you only use it as Secondary insurance. Seems like that's an issue or scam. I was unaware of a $250 hold for my vehicle. The fine print did say some companies require this but I have NEVER had to for this amount. I had not planned for it to be so high. I am super meticulous when it comes to what I charge on my cards so I didn't want to use the ones I had on me. I had one debit card that had auto drafts scheduled for the upcoming days and my husbands credit cards that I knew I couldn't use because of the name. I asked her to maybe call someone and see if we could use my husbands card. I said a manager? She told me she was from corporate. Thinking about the other cards I have at home and feeling a bit stressed because of my travel budget she comes out and says "well what is your card limit?" I told her I didn't want to discuss that! At that point I told her I needed to get out of there and get on the road. She checked about three times to "find" a car... even though when the contract was finalized she she "the car is out there" and pointed to the general direction. I asked "where?!" She said "right outside there." And pointed again. I have always been walked out to my rental to do a walk around. I called Priceline after leaving and they were not going to refund my money since I already picked up the vehicle! They did. Unlike this company who has yet to refund the $250 a week later. They enrolled me in emails which I have unsubscribed. Here's the kicker. I used to be a Rental Administrator. I thought maybe I have high standards when it comes to rental agencies. I have never been treated like this. I would never treat any customer the way she did. Because of all the "hidden" items and her lack of customer service. I will never use this agency again. WORST EVER. I often rent cars and this was the worst customer service. On top of the manager being a complete b*tch, the windshield wipers didn't work properly and they would not bring me a different car -- this was in Michigan in the heart of winter when windshield wipers are imperative for safety. Also, the gas tank wasn't completely full and the shuttle only runs every 20 minutes. I watched multiple shuttles from different companies go by while I stood in the freezing cold. Although, I never would have complained about the gas and shuttle if the rest of it hadn't happened. Those are just the extra bad things about the experience. Spend the extra money on a different company. And, you will see in the rest of my reviews, I've only given maybe two other non-5 star review in the last 8 or so years. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review! read more

The wait at the rental counter was approximately 45 minutes. The process to enter into a rental agreement was lengthy. The car did not respond well on the road and a light was lit on the dashboard so I took it back the next day and had to wait another 45-60 minutes to talk to someone. The tires were inflated by an attendant who said he inflated them to 45 psi. The manufacturers recommended inflation on the tires were 36-40 psi. When I got to my brothers I had him check them and they were at 60 psi! The roads were hot and I was put in danger of a blowout. The key fob didn't work for the trunk. I would not rent from them again. read more

Really horrible service. I knew that I would be paying a little more for gas than the normal price if I bought it back with less fuel than I started with but I didn't know you'll I would be paying a $25 dollar fee and $10/gallon. Typically I would never do this but I had a family emergency and couldn't get the car to the gas station before my flight took off..I thought the cost of gas wouldn't be more than the actual car rental. The car was dirty as well. Brakes needed to be fixed as well. Just be careful with this company. Now I know why it has such a low yelp rating. read more
