I loved this place but they don't reward loyalty and if anything really up charged me on this last request. My fiancé and I have used them exclusively (see what I did there?) for about 7-8 months including my wedding dress alterations etc etc - easily over $700-$800. I needed a very simple stitch on lace to make garters and they charged me $8 each aka $72 - I could have easily bought these new for that! The owner is very sweet but the rest of the employees need some training. They never call you to let you know that your stuff is ready (for my wedding dress she delayed it several times and I wasted a lot of time coming in for a dress that wasn't ready) and you have to call them. When I called yesterday, twice, she hung up on me both times and did not attempt to call me back. Will be taking my business elsewhere where it's appreciated from here on out. read more

If you need your wedding dress altered, look no further! Not only is Florence unbelievably talented, but genuine in her intent. Rarely do you meet who makes a lasting impression on you in just a few fittings. My dress needed a great deal of work, but once she finished you couldn't even tell it had been altered. I will never use Florence again. Took two skirts to have the length shortened from the top. She marked both from the top with safety pins. One had to have the elastic replaced and the other one had a zipper and was too tight in the waist and so the zipper would have to be removed, that seam sewn up and a narrow elastic put in a casing after shortening the skirt from the top. She called me about a week before the alterations were due to verify that the zipper was to be removed in the one skirt and I answered "yes". When I went to pick up the skirts, she had not removed the zipper in the one and had cut the length off the bottom and thrown away the material. She said I had not tried on the skirt for her and that was not true.This skirt was a wool challis three gore Ralph Lauren skirt and had been ankle length. There is no way to fix it at this point. The other skirt was a Eileen Fisher linen four gore skirt and the hem was extremely uneven now. She said that was due to the fact that it was cur on the bias and that is just the nature of that type skirt and nothing could be done about it. She replace the narrow elastic with one that was at least twice as wide. I sew and so I have repaired this skirt and the hem is even now as it was not wearable in that condition. I do not what the problem was, but I do not think she listens or makes notes and it seems that there are things she does not want to do. She did not want to remove the zipper. I had brought another skirt with me when I picked these two up and she stated that she would not remove the sewn in elastic in the waist. I would have to remove it and bring it back. The sewn in elastic in the linen Eileen Fisher skirt I brought her previously had been removed already. I had to pay the $83.00 she charged for the two alterations. I was definitely not worth it as you can see. Beware.!!! read more

My daughter was a week away from prom and we finally got her dress in and had to get it altered. It involved lace and shortening the length and straps. We took her dress in and the lady was so so nice. Although she was extremely booked- she agreed to rush to get dress done. I was on a bit of a rushed deadline, and she was very understanding and tapered the shirts in time for me to wear them. I have been here twice now to get a dress altered and both times they have charged me WAY more than necessary. The first time, when getting a basic dress hemmed, I was charged over $60. Yesterday, when I went to get a bridesmaid dress altered, they tried to charge me $120. I found someone else to alter it for a quarter of the price and they couldn't believe I was being charged so much. I have gotten things altered here and the work was good, but the pricing is not affordable at all. read more
