I had a very disappointing experience at Cute Cuts. The haircut was performed before the…read morehighlights, which has left my ends extremely dry and brittle. The layers are uneven and poorly blended, and on top of that, she cut extremely short "curtain bangs" without my permission. It was hard to fully see how bad the cut was in the salon due to heavy styling and product, but once I washed and styled my hair at home, the flaws were very obvious. The highlights were just as bad -- inconsistent, patchy, and very unnatural looking. What made the experience even more concerning is that during my appointment, another customer came in to show that the hair extensions done the day before had already needed to be removed because they were installed incorrectly and were ripping her hair out. For what I was charged, I expected professional-quality work -- not something that now requires corrective services elsewhere. I contacted the owner several times respectfully requesting a refund. She initially offered to fix it herself, but when I explained I wanted a refund so I could go to a stylist I trust, she stopped responding entirely and has since ignored my messages. I would not recommend Cute Cuts to anyone.

$35 FOR A HACK JOB aka kids cut…read more Let me preface by saying this was his second hair cut. He had his bangs cut at a different salon 3 months ago and he sat still for the haircut but she cut his bangs without twisting them. We took my son to get his bangs cut and requested a half inch taken off. The bangs are shorter than requested and not even. She sprayed his bangs with water then twisted them and pulled them while aggressively cutting up and down the length of the twisted hair with thinning shears. Meanwhile the loose hair clippings were falling in his face (I had to wipe them off when we got to the car). He had 2 or 3 red marks on his forehead before he got out of the chair. And she was frustrated because he wouldn't sit still. She kept pressuring us to cut the back and I'm so glad we were persistent and kept saying no. We will not return. And I am leaving this yelp review after being blocked on her Facebook page after leaving my review on there.

SO, I had bad hair during our time on the islands. When I came home to TN Renee fixed the 2 years of damage I did to my boxed hair. And she did my eye brows seemlessly. I visited this location while on vacation, and it's by far one of the stupidest things I have done…read morein recent memory. The stylist, Samantha, was reasonably personable, but did not take into consideration the requests I had and instead just kept reiterating that I needed to step outside of my comfort zone. I will admit that was partly my fault (which is why this is getting two stars instead of only one), because I didn't have a set style in mind when I sat in the chair, but my approval for "long layers" meant the topmost layer on the crown of my head ended up being about 3" long and she gave me long bangs without discussing it with me first, which was extremely disheartening since if she had she asked, the answer would have been a firm "No". I hate the haircut and it makes me super self conscious, especially since my hair grows very slowly and even after a few weeks, I cannot find a way to style it that does not result in the top layer fluffing up and leaving essentially a ridge around the top of my head. This is especially noticeable when I put my hair into a ponytail or pigtails, both styles which I specifically mentioned that I wanted to continue to be able to wear after the cut, but the top layer makes that impossible, since it's too short to capture within the hair band. After arriving home I visited another stylist who advised to just leave it alone and let it grow out; she also suggested frequent cuts to blend it better since currently the layers are "stacked". I would definitely think twice before trusting the staff at this location.

If this was my first bad experience with the chain in recent times, it would be one thing. But it wasn't. This incident just happens to be the most egregious. Oddly enough, other negative reviews for this location are strangely similar to mine. Go figure. So, let's get one thing out of the way: while it may work for some people, in our experience, the Great Clips online "check-in" system is absolutely broken. You show up at your appointed time (or simply arrive early and wait for it); and either way, it's a complete waste of time. After not finding us in the system - and then talking to us as if that were somehow our fault, even though we'd done the check-in at home on our PC - we were asked multiple times for our names, then told it would be...40 minutes. And that was just for one of us. We had an appointment in just a few hours, and that would have completely screwed up our evening. So what's the point of their system? You've got me. The manager was also rude, was absolutely unapologetic about having just ONE stylist on the floor...and rather than help deal with it, took off for the day, leaving the customers to wait. And wait. And wait. No thanks. We left and went to SportsClips a couple of miles away and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I was also dealt with cheerfully and with a smile. Enough said. Choose somewhere else other than Great Clips; you'll be glad you did.
