Currency exchange store across from Earl's Court tube station. The location is convenient, but charges a 9.5% service charge plus a £2.99 handling fee, which makes for a terrible exchange rate. read more

Went to Korea spent nine of the currency went back to exchange back to sterling only to be told that one note was not real Now that's a puzzle as all the notes I had came from this shop and having spent none of the currency to be told that they be not e is not legal is outrageous. They point blank refused to exchange the note in question even though I had the receipt to prove where they came from. When I challenged that they must have a record of the serial number of notes they have and dispense to people they still refused to take the nite back. Trading standards here u come. If I could go zero stars they would have got that. Take my advise exchange your hard earned money somewhere else.

After doing some quick research on the best places to exchange cash, I came across a few forums that mentioned Thomas Exchange. Luckily there was a branch a brisk 15 minute walk from where I was staying. I went there around mid-morning on a Tuesday and had no trouble finding it in a covered arcade. There were a few people in line, but it moved very quickly. The tellers were very quick in handling each person's request. I've seen banks in other countries where they would spend a good 30 minutes with each person, counting and recounting the cash, putting it through a counting machine, and then manually counting again. Thank goodness they didn't do this here or else I'd be waiting for half a day. Best of all the exchange rate was great, only off the market value by a few pennies. I'm writing this Yelp review to point others in the direction of Thomas Exchange, but also so that I can remember to come here next time I'm in London!
Us foreigners living in London (especially an italian) receive a lot of visits from our countries,…read moreand of course the people visiting need a way to exchange currency and get sterling pounds: in the first months living here I've seen people horrendously scammed by high street change booths that gave ridiculous rates, more often than not complementing those with processing fees, commission charges, etc. I first found change link on an occasion where I needed to bring to Italy around 1500 pounds. I went to my bank, and they offered me a change rate which was considerably lower than the published inter-bank rate, so I was looking for something better. On that particular trade, change-link saved me around 70 euros, which was pretty astonishing to me. Since then, this place has become my (and my friends') one-stop shop for currency exchange: it consistenly has lower rates than other places, and we have never had any problems with them. Also, their web site ( http://www.change-link.com ) publishes their rates in real time, which is a very good thing to do: what you read on the site is what you get when you go there. (Note: if you have time, though, specialized companies online seem to be generally able to provide slightly better rates: look at www.sendmoneyhome.org for a list).

It's never as packed as the other currency company around the corner that most ppl seem to flock to. It also really helps that the customer service is on point. You don't feel un welcomed here, unlike the other currency company around the corner. They also always offer you an envelope ! Lol I need not go to any other foreign currency company again. So far this is the NUMBER 1 foreign currency company for the BEST RATES, I've searched high and low and no other company beats this company's rates.
Natwest at Westfield Stratford City is opposite JD Sports and next to the Starbucks mall kiosk and…read moreis a decent branch. It's a useful location within the shopping centre, offering basic banking facilities including ATM's which are open to pay in and withdraw money whenever the mall is open. Otherwise, the branch is open between 10 am and 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday, but at certain times which includes the final hour of opening during the week and the whole of Saturday they do only offer digital/automated services which isn't ideal, but at least it keeps the store partially open. From the outside, the store looks good with the purple, modern theme similar to the Natwest logo but the interior of the branch is a little old and it's a shame the interior and exterior don't seem to match - having a layout similar to the Piccadilly Station (Manchester) branch would match perfectly. I really like how the sort-code for this branch is "602012" with the 60 meaning Natwest and 2012 marking the year of the Olympic Games which were held in Stratford, with the Olympic Stadium just a short walk away (Westfield its-self opened towards the end of 2011 ahead of the games). A well-located branch offering basic banking facilities within a shopping centre, but if you're looking to do more, speak to a member of staff or avoid long queues for an understaffed counter, this branch isn't for you. 3*

The jerk Muhhamed which probably smells his crusty farts behind the glass booth added a 15% commission without consent and gave me a folded receipt. When I pointed it out he said no refunds and pointed to a tiny sign at the corner of the counter that said there was a 15% commission but while I was in line I overheard him telling customers that they were not charging commission. I even found a receipt on the counter to point it out to him. The exchange rate was horrible too but I needed money. I emailed the company but no response. Halifax at Westfield London is one of two major banks inside Europe's largest shopping centre in…read morethe Shepherds Bush area of Kensington, London. It is pretty handy in its location, with cash machines which can be accessed whenever the main bank is open or closed, perhaps to withdraw cash to spend in the mall. The branch isn't as modern as one would expect as it is a modern mall but basically falls into the average look and feel of a Halifax store, albeit a little smaller. The opening hours are quite useful being open until 18:30 daily, only shutting on Sunday's but this is common for 99% of banks in the UK. There is a small amount of seating, but it isn't the most comfortable or relaxing seating, but it still is one of the better places in the mall perhaps to sit down and relax for a moment, connecting onto the reasonable free-wifi, perhaps to do some online banking, yelping and everything in-between. Location, free-wifi (common for every bank), long opening hours and cash machines make this location "A-OK", a three-star rating is warranted mainly for ease and location.

I have used this place a number of times over the years and their rates are always competitive with the other places I tend to use, this one is a little bit easier to get to than some though. The other plus about this place is its website will quote one price and you are able to print out a voucher for this. if by the time you get there the rate has changed, for better or worse, they will honour the best price be it your voucher or the current price.
