Please use an honest business like this one! Whatever you do stay away from CHANGEGROUP establishment, which is located on 51 Whitehall in London. The jerk Muhhamed which probably smells his crusty farts behind the glass booth added a 15% commission without consent and gave me a folded receipt. He acted like he was really helping us out and I dropped my guard...Im sure karma will get the best of him. Horrible first experience on dealing with a currency exchange company. When I pointed it out he said no refunds and pointed to a tiny sign at the corner of the counter that said there was a 15% commission but while I was in line I overheard him telling customers that they were not charging commission. I even found a receipt on the counter to point it out to him. The exchange rate was horrible too but I needed money. I emailed the company but no response. I figured there a heartless corporation takin advantage of first time travelers and elderly people. read more

Thomas Exchange Global offers quite simply the most competitive exchange rates of any bureau de change in the capital. Last time I went overseas, to New York when the pound was stronger - ah, remember the good times? - I think I literally saved about £100 by making the trip to Thomas Exchange Global to pick up some American dollars instead of heading to my local post office or other extortionate currency exchange establishment. OK, currency exchange is not very sexy, certainly not a great conversation starter, but in these troubled financial times some good old fashioned penny pinching is imperative. If you need foreign currency, go to Thomas Exchange Global. You will save a fortune and find a new, and ridiculously useful, go-to place in the process. read more
The best rates in London. A quick and friendly service although try not to go at lunch time as the queues can be enormous. Always order online before you go there in order to get the best rate. Quite simply the only place to change money in London - 5 stars read more
When travelling abroad I always get my foreign currency after using the money saving expert deal search engine. Usually this place comes top - which is great for me as I can walk here from work! You have to expect a queue here, but they tend to move quickly. It's best to book the money through their website in advance as it makes the transaction nice and quick when you get to the counter. read more

I googled 'best foreign currency in London' and this place came up. So I went there, the place was very busy with the que out the door. I was served and got my currency. The exchange rate you see online is NOT what you will get in store, unless you book & pay for it online. So you will get a slightly lower rate than what you see online when you go in store without prepaying online. The customer service ain't all that great in here. I felt rushed. Don't expect a smile and a welcome because you won't get it. After I left I went to another foreign exchange shop around the corner. In this other currency shop their exchange rate was FAR better (plus what you see on their site is what u get in store even without prepaying for it), and they were very helpful and friendly. I went back to thomas exchange a few weeks ago to ask for their rates ( because the board on the window was not showing anything) and I was given an abrupt answer. Their exchange rate wasn't better than the other shop around the corner. The group of moody looking men behind the counter are quite intimidating too. I think this company is the second best for currency exchange rates, definitely not the first because I always get a better rate from the other company around the corner. read more

I am shocked that no one has reviewed Thomas Exchange Global yet!!! Recommended by MoneySavingExpert.com, their rates are consistently the best in London. There are often queues outside their door. I have used them many times and got very good deals (having first used the forex tool on moneysavingexpert.com first, of course). They are well stocked both in variety of currencies as well as amount. Their guys are pretty helpful. Their outlet on Victoria Street is small and not that visible. But if you look for the Pizza Hut, it is directly opposite on the other side of the road; or look for Reed Employment Agency and Thomas Global Exchange is opposite it too on the same side of the road. It is right next to the Starbucks. read more

This place is a fraud. I went to exchange Euros' to go on holiday, I was encouraged to get 200Euro notes by the attendant. I though great, less hassle to carry money around with me. The staff seemed friendly and so on. Imagine my surprise, when I try to use my Euros', that the money was fake. Very good quality fakes. I felt stupid and shocked that a shop would sell counterfeit money. I went back to the shop after my holiday to confront them, maybe this was a mistake, I had my receipt and everything. The shop denied ever serving me, they tried to speak to me outside the shop to quieten me down but refused to take the counterfeit money back. I had my receipt everything was in order. The staff working behind the counter were interested if I had contacted the police already, strange that this seemed their main priority! I wonder why! I have now called the police and there is an investigation going on against this "business", when I spoke to the police they informed me that they had heard reports against this organisation before. I don't know if they are selling other counterfeit currencies but don't trust 200Euro notes. Stay away from these fraudsters. read more

This company is relaly really bad. Have tried on 3 seperate occassion for different currencies and on each occassision I have had an issue with the rude staff, refusal to do exchange on what I had confirmed over the phone before and also over the internet via their website. I have also tried them to transfer money abroad and don't even think about it. They happily took my money and sent it incorrectly. Long delay to reply to any emails, bad and rude staff.AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more
