The parking lot is more than adequate. Location is prime with a centralized spot on Lookout Road. It's within walking distance of all of Chick's Beach, serving both residents and tourists in beach rentals. It's extremely convenient for those spending a day on the beach who don't want to lose their street parking spot. :) I'm sure Jr. Markets will still be serving Chic's Beach for decades to come.

They get 1 star from me for being local and surviving in the world of chain convenience stores. Located in the center of Chicks Beach business district one block from the beach. They have nice parking that I found the lot debris free. If you park illegally to enjoy a beach day your car will be towed. The store does not offer fuel. Jr. Markets offer strictly convenience items such as smokes, fountain drinks, beer, wine and miscellaneous food items. As I found out today no coffee by the pot, it's out of a machine...just NO! Expect prices to be more than a full service grocery which should not shock anyone. I found the store clean and neat and the staff I interacted with friendly. After residing within walking distance for years I have not found the need to be a regular whatsoever. But convenience is the key and if you need it they may just have it.

Inside is small but there are snacks and all the usual items you'd expect. It's an easy in and out from the street if you are in the area and in need of a quick stop for gas or a snack. I frequent this store a few times a week, and have always had excellent and friendly service from all employees except for tonight. I walk in, only customer, and proceed to the register. The female working had her cell phone in hand above the register, so I was in her direct line of sight. She never acknowledged my presence, no greeting, so I then said I'll have four packs of Marlboro Silver 100's, please. I had ID in hand as your staff always cards me, but she never asked for ID. She then put down the phone, moved slowly to reach for the packs - had she moved any slower she'd have been going backwards - rang up the packs, then walked over to the front window. Guess she assumed that I was paying by card and not cash. She never told me the amount of the purchase, so I asked if we were good, and what's my total. Her reply: you saw me ring 'em up, I put the smokes in the bag, the price is right there. Two other customers had entered the store by now, so instead of taking issue, I stated that I'd talk to the manager tomorrow. Her response: I don't care who you talked to, and then kept on with attitude about what she had done for the purchase. I departed. Tomorrow I will speak to the manager, and have this comment in hand for her review and whatever corrective action that she deems appropriate. The location is Haygood Shopping Center on the North side off Haygood Rd. It's a decent in and out. Since the station does not have direct access off the road it's not as busy. The parking lot is wide and has great maneuverability. The pumps are newer and worked great. Also new black top. Trash cans had been emptied the night before. Wash and towels available. No debris in sight. A staff person is in the nearby building if assistance is needed. The best part is saving with your Harris Teeter rewards card. I saved 50 cents today. If you shop Harris Teeter at Haygood check them out. You do not have to be a member of their loyalty program to use. However it's a breeze to sign up and save more.

The pump area was clean with no debris in the area. Trash can was within its boundaries. There was also wash and squeegee available. I utilized the touch, pay and drive with my card which is blazing fast processing. The gas price was within, if not more reasonable than other area stations. I would absolutely come back.

I went to the new location near me and I waited a few months before going because it looked really…read morebusy, so this month I went twice and I got a refresher and pepsi and than the next week I went and got a sub. The place is busy the first time I went but inside was clean and organized. Wait is not that long to pay even if there is a long line. The customer service is friendly and helpful. Parking can be hard if there is too many cars, found it easy to park sometimes if i do not go during rush hour. The sub is good the drinks are good. I would keep coming here.
