Less than one star is deserved here! Scheduled a chipped tooth repair, as this was all my schedule would allow for and was a priority to me. The dental assistant was rude and not listening to me as she told me I was having a cleaning and x-rays today and would have to reschedule to come back to have the tooth repaired. Lol. Brand new patient, first time in there, treated with such disregard and rudeness I got up and walked out... Unbelievably unprofessional! Don't go there if you're trying to have a good day or if you're looking for people who listen to you. I initially told them I was coming in for the chipped tooth repair, additionally I was asked in the online form the reason for my visit, which I said chipped tooth repair. I saw Kristen for a neuromuscular orthotic for tmj. The receptionist had been texting me for a while and said they had hard and soft orthotics. Their website used to say at the time that they treat tmj with neuromuscular orthotics, tens units, etc, which has since been removed. At the appointment, Kristen said, "we dont do that." I was disappointed and out $300 for the pointless appointment. She did say I had a tongue tie and need a release. She then referred me to Quad City Orthodontics who referred me to My Myoworks to do exercises to start the process. I worked with them on tongue and jaw exercises for months until it was time for a release. Last on their list of dentists who do tongue tie releases is this office, but I am from Dbq, so i called here . But when i called, she said I would have to see a speech pathologist before I could get a release. I didn't want to spend any more money on a speech pathologist after all the money I spent on myofunctional therapy. Why would they send me on a referral train to them? I let the receptionist know about the myofunctional therapy, but she couldn't confirm that I would be able to get a release with that. She just kept repeating that i would need to schedule an exam to find out. She never offered to talk to anyone about it, just kept trying to schedule when i told her i dont want to pay for an exam without knowing that it is acceptable for me to forego seeing a speech pathologist since I have done myofunctional therapy. We kept going around in circles until I said if she couldn't confirm that I will go elsewhere. I didn't want to pay for another pointless appointment without confirmation the therapy I did was ok. The terrible communication and the unhelpful, unknowledgable receptionist is not the worst part. Dr. Kristen then called my current tmj specialist to tell him that i called and was mean to her receptionist?! Before speaking to me about it?! I was NOT mean to her receptionist. I would love to hear the call recording. I think she's not meant to be a receptionist. For their dentist to call my tmj specialist is absurd. What does he have to do with this? why not speak to me? I never gave permission to talk to other practicioners about me. That may be a hipaa violation. She talked about my tongue tie, which is personal medical info. How did they get my tmj specialists info?! Because I never told them I was seeing him. At my appointment, I had not started treatment with the tmj specialist. They must have called the orthodontist they referred me to, and gotten the myofunctional therapists info, and found out from them. (When they dont seem to think that myofunctional therapy is sufficient. The girl didn't even seem to know what it was.) Talk about crossing boundaries! She called around about me and tattled all day to clinicians i work with. Without addressing me first!!! And saying untruths. The receptionist must have told Dr. Kristen a fake story of her as a victim to a mean caller to save her ass for not communicating with her bosses about my request. This upset Kristen enough to call around to stalk me to tell on me with lies to my current specialist without speaking with me first. Passive agressive on Kristen's part. I think Kristen has a lot of time on her hands, and a problem with direct communication and crossing boundaries. Now, I talked to Kristen and she confirmed that she called around to practicioners asking about me and talking about medical info. She also starting recording the convo halfway thru, after asking why I was going to write a review and report her to hipaa. She pretended not to know that I told the receptionist she lost my business. And claimed she called them because when they do a tongue tie release, they talk with other professionals. But they had told me they couldn't do the release without speech pathology, and i said no. She can't get around this one. She called around to get back at me thru character assassination, while discussing personal medical info. She was wrong, and she knows it. You cant trust a "doctor" whose emotions take over enough to do something vindictive to a patient, period, let alone without speaking to them. Also, it's the most overpriced dentist I've ever been to. And they charge more for tongue tie releases than anyone else on the list I have. read more

I've always been nervous about getting work done over the years but Dr. Murray makes me feel very comfortable, and I know I'm in good hands!! They call it exceptional for a reason!! read more

Best dental office I have gone to and I have been to many looking for the right one. Well worth my 2 1/2 hr drive to get here. I have some pretty bad dental anxiety due to my teeth not always getting numb all the way in the past while being worked on and dentists that would get annoyed because of this. This caused me not going to a dentist office for some time to get my teeth fixed. Many places say that they will make you comfortable but this was never the case for me until I came to Exceptional Dentistry. You can actually tell that they want you to be comfortable here and do everything that they can for you. This is a wonderful dentists office! From the gorgeous facility to the fantastic staff, I can't think of one negative thing about an experience I've ever had here. The hygienists do an exceptional job of cleaning and explaining everything. I've had quite a bit of repair work done to my teeth and have been very pleased with the outcome. I am incredibly pleased with the care my infant daughter received from Dr. Berning at Exceptional Dentistry. I was concerned about some mouth issues that were hindering my daughter's eating and that were not solved in consultation with her pediatrician's office. I had heard great things about Dr. Berning, so I set up an initial consultation. Prior to that appointment, Dr. Berning's office contacted me to learn more about the situation and then Dr. Berning contacted me as well. I could tell immediately that Dr. Berning was personally interested in helping my daughter's situation and, in the initial consultation, she quickly diagnosed the problem and proposed a course of treatment. Bringing an infant in for a procedure can be scary, but Dr. Berning's thoughtful and caring demeanor along with her ability to explain the procedure made me much more comfortable. The procedure went great and Dr. Berning has followed up since then to ensure that everything is still going smoothly. My daughter's issue is now completely resolved and she is eating like a champ!
