Just like Amanda, I bought the Groupon for a free exam, cleaning, and x-rays for $49. I desperately needed to get my teeth cleaned, and figured that even if it turned out to be a sketchy dentists' office, at least it was cheap. So when I walked in today, I wasn't expecting very much, just hoping I'd get halfway decent service.
But wow - this visit was not at all what I expected! The office is decorated very nicely, has multiple exam spaces and plenty of employees, and everyone was so nice. I've been to a number of dentists' offices in my life, and this one is the best I've been to so far.
Favorite parts of this visit:
1) Minimum wait time - my appointment was for 12:45pm and I only waited about 5 minutes before someone came to take me back to the exam room.
2) Clean, comfortable & modern interiors - I'm not rich by any means, which translates to visiting a lot of sketchy, crappy-looking doctors' offices in my lifetime. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys hired an interior designer to advise them on setting up proper traffic flow and suggest colors and finishes - it was a very welcoming space.
3) Sweet staff - everyone was so nice, and went out of their way to make me comfortable. I'm terrible with names and can't remember the dentist's name, but he had a great "bedside manner" and had me laughing in no time.
4) Perks! When the hygienist offered me a "neck wrap" I thought she meant the little bib they put on before they scrub your teeth. Instead, she brought me a heated neck cushion - what!?! There were also TVs everywhere in the office, including one in front of the chair and one on the ceiling, so that when your chair is leaned back, you can watch TV. Bonus for having subtitles on.
5) Dental Plan - they have this great plan that's only $149, that allows you to get two free cleanings, and all the x-rays and exams you want, plus emergency care and a percentage off of all extra treatments. I got an additional fluoride treatment and got 20% off.
6) Swag - Free full-sized Oral B toothbrush, and travel-sized Crest Pro Health products, all in a great travel bag perfect for work. Yeah, I know all dentists give you a toothbrush, but this is the best set of freebies I've ever gotten.
7) They're full service. The website isn't entirely clear on this, but they do it all - regular dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry, all of which are covered in their dental plan.
I'm heading back for an orthodontics consultation next month, and couldn't be happier! read more
