The crown was not sized for me. Dentist in Texas (I had to leave the state for care) said it was a high bite that could have easily been fixed. However months of GNO Dental refusing to fix their mistake caused the damage to continue and required immediate surgical removal of the tooth. And treatment for a serious infection. Not to mention all the pain I went through. All because i didn't go to high school here. I couldn't believe they asked me this. It's a test to decide if they want to help you or hurt you. So hateful! I was shocked that they left me waiting over an hour past my appointment time to accommodate other "local" patients arriving after me. I now wish that had been all they did. Unfortunately their hate went beyond that to doing careless work with no concern for my health. I can't stress enough that anyone that moved here and doesn't pass the "high school test" should stay away. They clearly don't care about patients from "elsewhere".

They always have new things- advanced technology, partnerships for care, curtains, etc. She is always learning new things and expanding what care she can offer patients. Initially I went to her because I had a root canal that failed twice. She was the first one to say she thought the tooth was cracked, and she was right! I've had a complicated set of inherited problems and she has treated them. My sister (who lives across the country) also has similar issues and has struggled to find regular, specialized care. With Dr. Lacey we have done the same palette expansion. I've had regular visits, top of the line imaging, and gained 7mm of space. When I didn't need the follow up Invisiline (like my sister did have to have), she was honest with me, and that saved me thousands of dollars and years of treatment! Very grateful to have found her. The team is terrific- all the hygienists, dentists and office personnel have been professional and thorough. Now my extended family has started going to Southern Dental. Love these ladies!

After months of waiting for follow-up regarding the specialist portion, I was ultimately referred out. When it was time to coordinate the crown placement, there did not appear to be communication between this office and my oral surgeon's office. I was already in the dental chair and numbed, and I then spent about an hour trying to reach the oral surgeon's office so the next steps could move forward. I also knew from the beginning that this office does not accept secondary insurance, but I disagree with that policy because my primary and secondary coverage together are designed to cover the full balance. I have strong dental insurance and have not had unexpected bills with prior providers. With this office, I received a call and was told I needed to pay $500+ and that I had a deductible related to a pre-authorization submitted for work this year. That was unexpected, and I did not receive a clear explanation that resolved my concerns. There are CareCredit advertisements in the office, and while financing may help some patients, it was frustrating to see financing promoted while secondary insurance is not accepted, especially when secondary coverage is a standard way many patients pay for care without taking on debt. When I said I would be seeking another dentist, the response I received was "I don't blame you," which did not feel professional or helpful. Lastly, I had a filling done about a month ago and I've had pain since then. I'll be having it evaluated by another provider. I hope the practice improves communication, coordination with specialists, and clarity around costs and insurance.

After putting my child through braces, I knew what I wanted as an adult with braces. I also wanted to be seen every month instead of being seen every 3 months. Since I was no longer covered under insurance for ortho, I got 4 quotes. Complete Family Dental on Lapalco was the cheapest at $4685; but I would have had to pay the full amount up front. They did not have a monthly plan. Bippo's on Behrman was $5565. Trieu Smiles was around $7500. Algiers Dental was $5179 for clear brackets. So I decided to go with them. This office is operated by Dr. Hobgood and his wife. I was seen every month (for 15 months) and my amazing ortho tech on each visit was Mrs. Aletha. My only complaint is that other than Mrs. Aletha and the sweet hygienist, the turnover rate for other employees was high. Nevertheless, if you are looking for braces and do not want to pay an arm and a leg and you want to be seen every month, I would definitely check them out.
