There's a lot of staff turnover and a lack of communication from the principal and staff about safety or anything important. In the classroom, there's a lack of academic skills, and competent staff to deliver a comprehensive academic program. I'm glad I was able to remove my kid just in time, and I'm not the only one. It took a lot of work, including tutoring, to catch her up at her new school. I can't believe they let kids fall so far behind with fewer than 10 in a classroom -- it's embarrassing. They come up with lots of games, field trips, and ways to avoid teaching the kids and spend time outside the classroom. I heard that Barnhart had over 600 students at one point and now has fewer than 170 and this is a number obtained from a head of staff, and still declining, this information alone should tell you what's going on with the school. Good luck.

The new principal is warm, visionary, and highly efficient. He quickly offered support and space to other schools affected by the fire, which was incredibly generous. Our child joined the TK class, and Ms. Markis has been wonderfully caring and encouraging. Our child is excited to go to school every day and comes home eager to share what new things they've learned. There are Spanish lessons three times a week, and the TK teacher has even introduced some Chinese daily vocabulary, very practical. The kids get along really well, and the learning environment is positive.

My older son has phased out and is now in TCHS Geometry and just made the basketball team but my younger son is now back at Little Harvard. He's always enjoyed school but he is absolutely thrilled every day when he comes home from school, gushing about how great the teachers are, how wonderful his friends are, what he's learning. He told me about a child who cried when asked to introduce herself and it impressed me when my son said the teachers taught everyone to be inclusive, loving and no one made fun of her, just tried to help her. This is the environmental I want my son in- to learn to be kind, while having fun and learning. Really loving this place right now. If you're not near Arcadia School District, look up Chiao Hsin in Walnut and Monterey Park. These two so far are great for us!!! After my younger son phases out, my daughter will definitely be going next if we still live here.

They are always available for questions and are very helpful. Your child's grades will improve. They send home work that is challenging and not too easy, yet it is still appropriate for your child's grade level. I would recommend them as a parent. They also do spelling bees which help reinforce skills learned throughout the school year so they aren't forgotten.

From the…read morevery first visit, we felt an overwhelming peace -- the kind of peace that tells you you're exactly where God wants you to be. The small class sizes make such a difference. My child receives the individualized attention, support, and care every parent prays for. The teachers genuinely know each child by heart -- their personality, strengths, struggles -- and they speak into their lives with such grace and encouragement. The way they pray over the kids, guide them, and pour into their hearts is something you simply cannot put a price on. The community truly feels like family. Christ is at the center of everything they do, and as a parent, there is no greater comfort than knowing your child is surrounded by teachers who love Jesus and love your child with intention and purpose. We are so grateful God led us here. If you're looking for a deeply nurturing, faith-anchored school with genuine care, Arcadia Christian School is a beautiful answer to prayer.

Posting on behalf of my wife: Review of ACS…read more I'm a mom of a kindergartener at ACS last year. It was great for the first half of the year as the substitute teacher at the time was teaching my daughter, she was teaching with love and compassion because she simply loves the kids. My daughter was enjoying school a lot and she learned so much from the hand on projects and others. Although she was a substitute teacher, she was there for 9 years. The class took turn to lead the singing in the chapel time and they did skit and had fun. I was really happy that my daughter was learning the Bible and of course the academics side as well. Then, when it came to the second half of the year which is this January, Ms Bonnette took over as she was a new hire. She did not know how to teach. She taught using videos and Canva. She did not want to use her voice so much that she needed to use a microphone to talk during class as she claimed that she needed to reserve her voice for worship at church. She was using YouTube read-aloud videos to show kids of the books. The books she chose were not biblical, they are not even educational. When she picked a book to read to the students, they were toddler level. I'm not sure if she knew what level of education they needed. Then she has shown an inappropriate video of a green gummy bear song which is so popular that I was not even aware of it. If you search a gummy bear song on YouTube, I'm sure you will find it right away as it's the most popular video. I felt like the kids were being indoctrinated. She would eat candies in class and talk about her boyfriend with the kids. Not much of the hand-on projects came home at the end of the school year. I did not know what she was doing there. This is totally unacceptable and ungodly about what she was doing to the kids. There are still more things that I have not mentioned here that was unprofessional and inappropriate as a teacher. We are still waiting for the principal, Mr Limon, response regarding the investigation of this tecaher. He does not seem to care as we are not coming back to ACS anymore. It will be a month soon since we have spoken to him about it, and school is about to start in less than a month. Truly many Christian schools are turning woke. Please be diligent when searching for school and get to know the teachers first because this could happen anywhere. I have never thought that this would ever happen to my daughter. The impact from a teacher can be tremendous.

S. Lewis texts and it was "so cool and so philosophic" (her word!) and how all the lessons with him are so meaty and interesting and she loves all of it. He connects every lesson with "life stuff" (Again, verbatim.) It all just spilled out of her, she hadn't even put her backpack down, she was so jazzed. So grateful for that. The cool Mr. Z is husband to Mrs. Jackie, whom my daughter also adores. Mrs. Jackie spoke to the class about grit and it completely won my daughter over. They talked about being resilient and how to handle difficult things. My daughter had been struggling with juggling her schedule with club basketball, school, and friends, and that class helped strengthen her resolve and rise to the challenge. I hope hope hope Mrs. Jackie can squeeze a few more life classes with our 7th graders before Baby Z makes his/her appearance! All this to say, thank you, Ziomeks, for being at Holy Angels, for being the cool role models our kids can look up to and listen to! They are only two of the staff at Holy Angels who I know surround my children with love and humor. Holy Angels is home and haven. We are so thankful to belong to this community.Today, n
