Not only did Dr. Sifri fix my teeth, but years and years later they are still in great condition. After a strong recommendation from another colleague of mine I made the risk of flying out to Madison to have Dr. Sifri look at my teeth. What a successful journey it was. They have a very comfortable waiting room with some fun things for anyone who might have some nervous kids - or adults who are kids at heart. The staff was very easy to talk to and professional. They answered my laundry list of questions, some of which probably toed the line on what is and what is not their actual responsibility. Special thanks to Sky who helped me feel calm and at home as we watched a cooking show on the tv above the patient chair (nice!). Lastly, the complete transparency during checkout was really a huge selling point. They showed me a complete breakdown for my follow up appointment so that I could make adjustments as needed and avoid any awkward sticker shock conversations. Thankfully, my insurance covered most of my appointments, but I know that is not always the case for everyone; the transparency during scheduling is telling of their business model! I'd like to add that yesterday an old crown that had been placed by a prior dentist fractured and chipped off. I called Artisan Dental last evening to see if I could get in today. I got a return call at 7:15 this morning, was in their chair at 9 AM, and was done with a new crown at 11:15 AM. Thank you so much Rochelle, Dr Rehermann, and Cassie for such speedy, kind, and professional service. I have no idea how people could have had negative experiences. After going at least twice a year for 8 years, I've always been treated exceptionally well. Unless you can re-arrange your life expect to be several months out--as in at the time of your next cleaning. As a professional myself if I have to late cancel someone due to unforeseen circumstances I make sure to go above and beyond to accommodate a re-schedule that is convenient for the person because I value the time they set aside. I guess I should always remember that not everyone has that same level of professionalism.

During my appointment, we were able to narrow down which tooth it was bothering me. But, after an x-ray and dealing with me for about a whole five minutes at best, the dentist could not tell me what was wrong. He basically just said I would have to suck it up and come back in if it gets worse. WORSE? My eye is twitching and I have a constant headache that keeps me from sleeping but sure, let's let it get worse. I really feel like my pain was being discredited. So, I gave the dentist brand the benefit of the doubt and went to get a second opinion over at the sun prairie clinic. Imagine my surprise when the dentist there figures out my problem in two minutes by looking at my x-ray and saying my filling is off which is causing my pain. My other dentist did not even tell me the tooth that was causing me had a filling. One would think that it would be extremely relevant to know that the tooth causing me pain had had work done on it before!

Dental Health Associates wants me to pay all over again, but I am now retired and cannot pay thousands of dollars. I have no legal recourse because the statute of limitations (3 years) has passed since the first surgery. Medicare doesn't cover dental, and I cant even afford to pay the 175 dollars for a consultation for a repair. I am in pain constantly, and my only option is to wait for the metal to work its way out of my jaw and hope I don't get an infection. I cannot eat or speak properly, and I have no idea what is going to happen.

I did some research on him and found out he went to Harvard, which, if you mention it, he waves away as though it's nothing. He and his staff were very careful to explain everything that was going on, and what I needed to have done, while tedious, was not bad at all to deal with. They are great about keeping on you about checking in with how you are doing as you heal up. Other than it seems like most patients I've seen are at least 20 years older than me, and are being picked up after their appointments by their children while I can still drive, I am adjusting to the fact that there is no shame to getting some additional dental help. It's even kind of cute seeing all these who are around the age my parents would be if they were still around.
