I've been using Active Physio Works for a while. Started first when I was injured at work in 2016…read more Anytime I need Physio this is where I go. Most recently, I had Olivia as my physical therapist. She was incredibly thorough at trying to figure out why I'm having lower back pain. She gave me a lot of different exercise and stretching to strengthen the area and release the stuffiness in my lower back. After the first season I already felt better and will continue with the exercises and stretches she gave me. I appreciate the thoroughness I get each time I've come here.

When I had to find a physiotherapy clinic for my broken arm, this one was on the list given to me…read moreby the Orthopedic Surgeon and it was convenient so I booked my first appointment. Having never experienced physio (or a broken arm) I didn't know what to expect or have anything to compare this clinic to. My physiotherapist (Jasmine) was very helpful in teaching me the exercises I had to do to help with my healing. She would spend some time stretching out my arm and massaging the muscle around my arm but most of my time was spent with heat (10 minutes) on the IFC machine (15 minutes) and doing exercises that I could do at home. I didn't know any better so I went along with it for a few months. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, including my personal physiotherapist. However, once I had reached a plateau of healing, I asked for more exercises and if my arm should be being stretched more but it was obvious that my physiotherapist was too busy and over-booked to spend a lot of time with each of her clients. She did the best she could within the time alotted to me, is how it seemed. So, after 3 months, I switched to Summit Physiotherapy. The difference in care that I have received and the progress I have made even after reaching a plateau of healing, has been wonderful. My whole appointment is spent with the physiotherapist working on my arm, teaching me new ways to do my stretching & exercises. Lots of questions and genuine concern. Plus, it is a more private & quiet atmosphere, which I prefer. I feel that St. Albert Physical Therapy is adequate & functional. Some people may prefer a more open and busy clinic but I do not. My personal physiotherapist was very good & quite knowledgable but within the confines of a "sports injury" clinic, not enough personal attention for my own journey of healing from this horrific fracture. Summit offers a much more hands-on, personal care environment. I'm glad I switched my care to a more personal physiotherapy clinic and I am confident that my healing will be best served there. This review is written from my own personal experience so that others like me (who prefer more private & individual care) can make their choice according to their own preferences. Not everyone will feel the same way I do and I totally get that.

Paid 150.00 to learn NOT to trust this clinic ( which i was happy to pay, because I want to trust…read morethe people I let inject stuff into my body). I have an acute knee injury from ice climbing. I have had knee issues for over 15 years so am well versed with the treatments, and the standard knee ligament tests that go along with them. I booked a prolotherapy appointment here. it was 250.00 on the phone for both knees upon arriving, I confirmed the price 250.00 and the service I was getting (prolotherapy). Going in and meeting the physio we did discuss both prolotherapy and PRP, he indicated he though PRP was a better choice, BUT did not have time today. I told him no problem I could come back for that, but we can do the prolotherapy today as booked, in addition to his recommended PRP. He told me he could not do that , since the appointment was not booked long enough so he did not have time. I was disappointed as that was the whole point of me taking a half day off work and coming here. Upon leaving, I was asked to pay a consult fee of 150.00, which I was told would have been waived if I had got the service done ( Which is what I came for). BUT I indeed had booked the service. I was caught off guard, and did pay. However I got to my car and turned back , because this didnt seem right. I went back to talk to the receptionist who did confirm I was booked for the injections, so they: 1.booked me for 1 service. 2.Did NOT DO the service, 3. and then charged me for something else entirely. I did not agree or sign anything agreeing to this fee. In fact I confirmed the costs on the phone during booking , as well upon arriving. The receptionist asked me to speak to the physio who I dealt with, who insisted I was twisting his words when saying he said he did not have time ( Was absolutely not the case) and that I was "trying to come in and buy a can of coke" - This was insulting since, in our meeting he did not raise any objections to doing prolotherpay beyond time. He also admitted there was an "error made here" but no one was willing to make it right. I can always forgive mistakes in any business, I am also willing to pay whatever they want. They just have to two do things: 1) Disclose their prices/ policies. 2) If YOU make a mistake, fix it. This clinic did neither and I ensured to give ample opportunity for them to make it right, by speaking to the receptionist, who had me speak to the phyiso who also spoke to the clinic operator.

She knows her stuff and I can see why they get booked up quite fast. All the staff are friendly and welcoming here. Plenty of parking, as it's in the Grandin Plaza business building.
