The one-year membership is a scam - they ignored my decision to cancel and kept texting and pressuring me to go back. When we decided to quit and explained the reason, they required us to first go to his front desk (which they don't even have a front desk) to sign a cancellation form, send a picture of my son, write down he's name and then "buyout" the entire membership. Otherwise, they just kept charging us every single month. All students of all ages are placed in one class, regardless of level. It's not a place to learn, it's a place to waste time and money. Half of the class is listening to the instructor "Sensei" talk. They ignore any reasons you give for wanting to cancel and instead send millions of promotions and discounts in text message. Even tried to teach me how to be a good parents. When that didn't work, they threw the contract in my face and demand that us either buy out the membership or keep paying every month, whether we attend or not. I do not recommend this place, if you read my review, please be cautions when you sign their agreement. There are way better places in Vegas that charge less and teach better. DO NOT BELIEVE what they say.

I went to several places and when I came to Thompson Taekwondo I felt so welcomed. It felt like I've known them for years. What impressed me was how long he's been doing Martial Arts for and he is very experienced and intelligent. A lot of the places I went to seemed like they were not as experienced and it was so crowded. The most important for me is that my daughter is happy and enjoys it. Kristen is always very experienced and is great with the kids. Taekwondo is something that takes time if you're looking for a change in your kids behavior. One of the reasons I introduced my daughter to Taekwondo is because we were having issues with her behavior. After almost 3 years, I see a HUGE difference. I would highly recommend Master Thompson, you will not regret it. Thank you worth every single penny. Not only does my daughter learn self defense, she also becomes disciplined, and has self confidence and knows how to respond in situations at school. Thank you!

The gym offers a welcoming environment (at first) and a solid Jiu Jitsu program for beginners and hobbyists. However, the curriculum for kids lacks depth and progression for more advanced students, making it less suitable for those seeking a more competitive or rigorous training experience. In fact, the lack of a structured program for advanced students actually lead to skill stagnation and regression, as there isn't enough focus on refining or advancing techniques. While the gym may be a great fit for casual practitioners, it may not meet the needs of students aiming to compete or pursue Jiu Jitsu at a higher level.

I started Muay Thai here in my 40s, walked in as the only woman, and was fully prepared to feel awkward and out of place. That did not happen. Not even a little. The vibe here is welcoming in a way that feels authentic, not performative. Everyone from the coaches to the other students made me feel like I belonged from the very first class. I have been training for a while now and still look forward to every session. If you have been talking yourself out of starting because of your age, your fitness level, or feeling like you just do not fit the "martial arts type," please just go. Milestone is the kind of gym that meets you exactly where you are and helps you grow from there. One of the best decisions I have made for myself.

My children have tried every martial art type available in Las Vegas from rec centers to kukkiwon…read moreto standard franchise belt factories.. all with their own style, system, and ways to make fun but was never the right fit. From the website to the second you step into their gym, Milestone Martial Arts, Dr/Sensei Lorenzo, and Thai have impressed me with their approach and philosophy. So much so that I sing their praises to anyone interested in listening and have recruited two family friends to send their kids here. Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Muy Thai are practical martial arts that would help in self defense.. especially because many violent situations often end up on the ground. To have a child start learning the basics in repetition and applicability with a focus on the psychology, intent, control, discipline, de-escalation, and defense makes sense. It becomes second nature. Their intent isn't to kick someone's butt and be aggressive but to have control over the situation to the point where the aggressor will be incapacitated and stop. It gives me comfort and confidence to know that my now 6 year-olds can develop the skills to take care of themselves as they learn more independence. And hey... if they're good, competitive, and can kick butt then sure let's gooooo. Milestone's youth system is rooted in child/adolescent psychology and development. Their emphasis is about taking ownership, repetition, discipline, and earning reward. They group the kids into cohorts based on age and each group progresses through their belt system on a tri-mester basis until they reach Level 4 where they join kids who have been in the program for over a year. There is no "randori" until Level 3 which is great because by then they have built enough skills and control to be competitive but also understand their body movements. Their instructors are all seasoned martial artists trained and educated in working with children and youth. They make it fun and entertaining. The best part is their meditation where the kids learn to just sit in themselves for several minutes, quite and not moving. Many parents have expressed how much it is helping their childrens' focus and discipline in school, at home, and in other activities. The whole school is very supportive and I hope they go far with their system because it is definitely one of the best.
