This daycare is so attentive. They are clean! Shoes off at the door! I love that! They actually love the children and it shows. There's always something for kids and parents to interact. There are curriculums even for the infants so they're always learning. Themed days that I always look forward to. I can call or show up as much as I'd like without feeling like a bother. They have a nice little cozy breastfeeding room for me to use when I come. Playgrounds for the teeny tots on up to the 4 year olds. Although, we don't have access to them all the time (I'd like to), there are cameras everywhere so if you need to see something you can. The app they use makes communication easy throughout the day. When they have the time, I look forward to the random pictures I sometimes get of my little one. I also love how diverse it is here! I was so hesitant and nervous about sending my baby to daycare because of all the horror stories we hear, and obviously nobody loves your baby like you do BUT carousel is a close second. I'd choose them over and over again.

My son started today, they were able to get us in immediately as we just toured and fell in love with Children's Carousel yesterday. Finally our search is over. They have everything we were searching for. The largest playgrounds and plenty of time to play, giant windows that actually face outside, friendly children that said hello to my son on his first day. That was a biggie because my son actually came over to hug and kiss my goodbye, he was comfortable enough for me to leave without a scene! You have to your this school to see everything I've mentioned and more!

I could detail…read morehow terrible this was for us in length, but for any parents looking for a new school here are the highlights: Please only consider KinderHaus if your child is able to self soothe at 1 (which is likely not the case), has a complete control of their emotions at 1 and is able to articulate all of their needs again as a toddler. I would HIGHLY recommend against sending your child here if they experience even the slightest developmental delay because will be dismissed, due to not meeting the director's standards. We were at the school for 10 months and had seen three children dismissed that did not meet this absolutely outrageous requirements of toddlers. If your child requires additional love or care during nap time, this is not the place. Their policy is to call the parents to pick the child up for the day if they cannot sleep during nap. The director informed us she had told the teachers not to lay near or console my child during nap time as he is requiring "too much attention". The teachers are kind, but there is a strong disconnection between teachers and administration. As first time parents we entrusted the school with our baby and were greatly let down by administration. We had been working with the teachers on all fronts for son, who has delayed speech, but the acting director had not engaged in any of this until the day she abruptly released my son from school. We had been called to school because our son was not able to nap (which later found out is not a normal policy). When I arrive the director bombarded me and told me our son was being dismissed from school indefinitely and immediately without any advanced warning. As working parents this quite disruptive our family but more than anything our son had to have an intense change in his routine with no chance for adjustment. There was an apparent disconnection between administration and teachers after a change in administration because even the teacher were surprised by this extreme action. I will be the first to say my family is not perfect, but we are all doing our best. We had thought we had chosen a school that conducts itself with patience and respect, but the actions of its Director/Owner Pat made it very clear we were incorrect. With my son's delayed speech, we had been working with early steps to begin his therapies. We had been giving the teachers constant updates, but his development was not meeting the director's standards. She had told me his dismissal was due to his interruptions in class and outbursts. He had two biting incidents in the 10 months we were there and had been hands on, but we were told by teachers this was normal while his speech was progressing. We received no notes of Pat interacting with my son, and the first day she approached me regarding him was the day she kicked us out of school. She also immediately shared my child's confidential disciplinary actions with another parent, which is in direct violation of state licensing guidelines. I hope this review can help another parent make a decision that is right for your family. In camp and the school my child is now attending since this incident, it has been night and day with the patience and respect we are receiving from not only the teachers but the administration as well. My son attending this school from 12-22 months.

My children love to go to school and look forward to all of the activities, project and the supportive learning environment the school provides for the children. The teachers are engaging, caring and create a warm environment for the children to thrive and grow. The school, and its staff has been very accommodating and loving to the children at school and to myself as a parent. The teachers keep me informed, are very willing to assist the child if there are any exceptionalities that require a calm, patient space to develop and nurture their social and emotional skills. The staff has spent time with me and offered me guidance and their expertise in our families journey through pre-school and entering our next adventure of upcoming kindergarten. I have to reference the biting incident review as it would be an injustice to the school not to do so as they likely can't comment but I can discuss my experience. As the parent of the child that was bitten and has a permanent scar from how hard and attached the child was to her arm that bit her I have to stand by the school and staff for their actions. The school most definitely acted in the best interest and safety of all of the children in the class, which is what you would want as a parent. My child deserves a safe space which the school recognized and is providing to all of the children. No one child is more important than any other at school. Yes, children bite but we should be aware and informed of the severity of the incidents and harm our child inflicts on other children. The parent is disgruntled at the school and leaving negative reviews rather than accepting the reality of their child's actions and behavior and focusing their effort on getting their child the support needed to correct the behaviors. Some parents are not willing to accept the hard truths about their child and it is only an injustice to their child to not seek them the help they are seeking out for through such actions. I will always support and recommend this sweet little school and all of its community of parents and teachers. The support is there for all children and parents by the director and teachers who make the extra effort to provide a safe and loving environment for the children of St. Augustine. I have nothing but the kindest words to share about my children's experience at St. Augustine.

Do yourself a favor and do not send your child to the worst pre school in Metairie. The teachers are very cold, show no affection to the children. My 2 yr old could sense toxicity there and never wanted to go. He had a couple of biting incidents (which is completely normal for 2 yr olds) and they sent him home for a week and told me I needed to get X-rays of my sons teeth to prove he is teething. I guess this was a CYA for the other parents of the children he bit. His pediatrician told them that he will absolutely not be getting un needed radiation, and that biting for 2 yr olds is normal. They acted like they taught for 30 years, but have never encountered a child that bit. While consulting with the director about steps we could take to get him to stop biting we were told "at some point you just need to be a parent" all while scrolling her Apple Watch. My husband went for a second meeting and had to tell her to stop scrolling her phone while discussing a serious matter. They do not care about your kids, and your kid will sense it and not want to be there.

The school's director, Victoria was great to us and always looked out for my child and others. The kids were disciplined accordingly and taught how to deal with their big feelings. But even though the ladies took good care of the children, the facility needs a serious upgrade. The toddler rooms were kept as clean as they could be kept but there are many things that needed to be updated. The bathrooms for the children for one are horrendous! It always smelled like urine and the lighting was always so dim and the toilets were nasty. The carpets in the some of the rooms needs replacing and there is one room closed off near where the kids had lunch that smelled moldy and you can see the mold on the walls. Also, there were dead roaches in there. I never saw the staff or a cleaning crew clean the toys after closing. There are livestream cameras but it's so outdated you really can't see anything. The video lags and it's pixelated and there's no sound. The curriculum was pretty consistent and standard for the kids but there was nothing really exciting for them to do. The older toddler kids, the teacher would spread dirty mats on the floor and put the kids on the mats with different toys to play individually. I asked one of the staff members if the rugs were washed weekly and was told that they were never washed ever. So that's gross! Some of the electrical outlets were broken and exposed to the children. The toys they play with are very outdated and dirty. You can literally see the layer of dust on all the books on the book case and the inflatable planets hanging from the ceiling. The staff looks overworked though and I've seen many times that it can be too much for them handling so many kids. So I think more educators can alleviate that issue and I think they were working on that. The playground is decent and the lunch area is okay too. Overall the school is okay but because the school needs so many upgrades I really would not recommend it.
