When I tell you these guys came through and executed the best move ever! We all know how stressful moving can be in general so having a great company who is responsive, attentive, takes the time to contact you immediately and explain your contract PLUS available to answer any question you may have is the one you want on your schedule! I had a quick move and they were the first to contact me - same day as my inquiry. The price was comparable to others if not a few bucks cheaper. Ulises, Pedron and Pena were amazing and tackled quite a job. My move included hoisting a 103" sofa from a second floor balcony and bringing it through a first floor window! It was quite amazing to watch. Not to mention, they moved me out of a one bedroom apt into another in 5 hrs. 15 mins total! Upon arrival, Ulises reviewed the contract and a quick overview of the move. Once they got started, it was a tight, efficient ship! My family and friends were even impressed! DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY - they try to sound SO nice, especially the owner. however, they are a scam and they do not care at all. I never post reviews, but this one is worth it. I had to hire ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY for a ONE bed ONE bath and i had FIVE guys from Excalibur after only thinking i needed 3 tops, which is what they said. Then moving day they magically needed so many other people. This moving company was terrible. I was supposed to pay for 3 men to move my one bedroom and one bath. 600 square foot apartment. They were 6 hours late and the informed me that they needed to reschedule or more time to move or more men. I do not understand how a moving company could need 8-10 hours with more than three men to move a 600-square foot apartment that was already completely boxed up until they broke boxes and dumped everything out of my closets that they were supposed to help me carefully pack with the "included" storage bins and wardrobe boxes. They left my apartment completely trashed and disgusting and I took photos. I found other reviews of them now as well about the terrible service and scams. The foreman I had was the main problem. He continuously tried to get me to sign credit card documents that signed my right away to any charge back on my credit card. I refused to sign because they were not supposed to charge my credit card anything, it was only to hold my reservation. He also tried to get me to sign and initial documents stating that they did not take any items and I checked all parts of their van BEFORE they were even done and did not want me to check the van before signing. They all spoke in Spanish and thought that I did not, however, they were wrong. I understand fluent Spanish which is why I knew they were going to scam me after being very disrespectful. read more

I hired them for packing and moving and unloading. An estimator came out and gave us a "not to exceed" quote a few days before the move so we knew what to expect. On the day of the move, they used time efficiently and we were packed and moved in 3hrs less than estimated. They placed every box and piece of furniture exactly where I asked and I was really pleased! They also assembled our bedframe for us! Thank you for going above and beyond. Minor inconveniences: Upon unpacking later on, I found that many boxes containing spices were not closed or taped shut- these boxes were haphazardly thrown into a moving box and the spices had spilled all over the box. A cloud of coriander powder wafted from the box when I opened it.. not pleasant. Also I found some of my clothes packed in the same box as the toilet brush... still trying to figure out why someone thought that would be a good idea? They are excellent movers. The movers were great which is why I gave the 2 stars, but after they packed up our stuff things got dicey. We called several times to confirm when we would be able to expect to get delivery, but got no clear answers and were told we would get call backs. We moved across the country to Florida and told the company 2 wks prior to moving into a house what our closing date was. They said they have a 21 day window and will be scheduling the move with the first day being our closing date. We are 2 weeks in a house now with no clue where our stuff is. We have been following up every week to ask about status of our move and are just being told that everyone is experiencing delays. What a stressful journey this has been!! My experience with Excalibur Movers was better than expected! I was still a little scared that we would take longer than 3 hours because they had to hoist some furniture over my balcony. These guys were so fast and careful that I ended up moving a lot more furniture out than I expected in 3 hours. I am now mostly moved out of my place thanks to these guys. Moved locally from West LA to Mar Vista and Excalibur Van Lines was perfect. They gave me clear expectations for the day of the move. They were timely and worked hard. Excellent service. I was worried about all the glass cabinetry but everything was wrapped solid and secure. Unlike others that quote prices over the phone or video tours, someone comes to your house and does a walkthrough and it's a flat rate so no worries about tacked on charges. This company moved my home into storage a couple years ago. I recently finished building my current home, went to my storage to look at my furniture, and saw that two of my bar stool backs were broken from the movers packing my storage space in an unorganized fashion. There was ample space in my storage. I rented a space twice the size of what I needed. The movers rushed the job (although I was paying by the hour, which means they didn't have to rush), and were not careful with packing my furniture. I will not use this company again, nor do I recommend them. read more

After they arrived for the move, I signed the contract and they started packing. An hour later, I was given another document to sign that was a waiver stating that Excalibur was not responsible for any damage they cause during the move to floors, etc. I had moved several times before, had never heard of such a waiver, so I asked to speak to the owner. He refused to talk to me and had his secretary tell me that it was Excalibur's policy to not be responsible for such damage and that I could "take or leave it." I chose the latter. I then called Northstar Moving Co. and they were as good as they could possibly be in completing the move in a very professional manner. read more

I have used Excalibur in the past twice. While the movers are nice guys and efficient at loading and unloading, I have now three complaints and will no longer use this company: 1. Drivers drive EXTRA slow between your locations. This really upset me on the last move because they *were* charging by the hour with I believe a 3hr min (back in 2013). I just barely made it to my new place in 3hrs and I had just enough cash for the price I'd booked for. I would've been HOT if their slow driving caused me extra time. But be aware of this. 2. I used these guys 6 months apart and the price went up like $75. I think my first move was $275 and the second was $350. 6 MONTHS LATER. Now, it's a year and a half since my last move and I was just quoted $140/hr MINIMUM 4 HOURS. $560! To move 20 or 30 miles. Just no. I understand the cost of living goes up year to year, but not by 60%! 3. They used to tailor your move. You could choose how many guys, which packing supplies you needed (if any) and there was a lower 3hr minimum. My second move I paid for 2 guys and got a 3rd for free because he happened to be with them. I thought that was awesome. NOW they demanded I use 3 guys, a 4hr min, and a whole bunch of packing supplies that are included in the price whether I want them or not. WHAT THE? To top it all off, the guy giving me the quote tried to make me feel like I should be grateful for them doing me the favor of renting an extra truck as they are booked for the day of my move and "not charging extra for it." The extra is in your inflated rates! Rather than trying to guilt people into booking with you, just tell em the day is unavailable and let them go on their merry way. I booked a nicer place for over $200 less. No guilt trips needed. Im good. read more

We had to reschedule our move about 4 times because the sale of our home was delayed. Every time I had to move it, Tyler was easy to work with. The movers had an appointment time of 8am-10am arrival. They called 45 minutes in advance and showed up around 9:30am. It was a 3 man crew and they really worked hard (Jose was the foreman). Our condo was up two flights of stairs and we had a lot of stuff. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with lots of stuff in an attic (we brought the attic stuff down to the living area ourselves before the move). The 3 man crew finished loading the truck in about 4 hours. It was a 20 minute drive to our house and then they took a short break (off the clock). It was much quicker to unload as there were no stairs and no wrapping (just cutting off shrink wrap). It took about 2 hours. After the drive time, we paid for 7 hours. I imagine if you don't have a lot of extra stuff in an attic, it doesn't take as long. Plus the stairs slowed them down. They wrapped a lot of stuff with blankets and shrink wrap. We only were charged for the large stuff they shrink wrapped so only had to pay $11 for that. They provide wardrobe boxes so that was helpful too. This was my first time hiring movers and it was worth it! Excalibur makes it easy from the quote to the move. The guys were all vey friendly and hardworking. Nothing was damaged or missing and they put furniture where we asked. read more

Eliseo, Osar R., and Alex, provided a great moving experience for me. I was given a two hour window for the start of the move and they arrived on time and, while I completed paperwork with Eliseo, the rest of his team got to work. The guys worked quickly and efficiently, no horsing around, no down time, they were always moving. They completed my move in record time...and I've moved quite a few times.The guys were friendly and polite and even carted a big lemon tree out to the dumpster for me...not something they had to do. As a company, Excalibur offered competitive rates and a discount for cash payments. Now I pride myself on being prepared so I'd done a pretty good job of packing and organizing but this team of movers was really, really, good. My BF, who's never used a moving company before (always relied on friends/family), was really impressed and said he wished he'd used these guys. Lastly, some folks (not a lot of them) have mentioned the reason this company gets so many positive reviews is because they ask people to write them and give the names of the moving team. I totally disagree with this because, whether a company asks me to write a review or not, does not determine whether I'll actually write the review; and it certainly doesn't determine the content of my review. I'm also glad I was given the names of the guys who moved me because they deserve to be mentioned and get credit for a good move or blame for a bad one. As long as a business doesn't offer you something for a "good" review I don't see a problem with them asking a customer to write a review. Just to be clear, I was asked to review the service I received but was not asked to write a positive review nor was I offered anything to write this review. In November 2015, Oscar R., Oscar V., and Marcos helped me move my 1-bedroom apartment into a second floor room in a home. They called ahead of time to let me know they were on the way, they arrived promptly, and explained all the details before starting the move. The guys were quick, but careful with all of my items. After moving everything into the home, they delivered my fridge to another house about 20 minutes away. They finished the whole job in about 4 hours flat, including driving time. I packed everything into boxes ahead of time, but there were some things they helped me pack into large boxes - it's great because they bring their own blankets to protect items and boxes that can basically be arranged into whatever size you need. It's nice they have the backup items on hand. I'd definitely recommend this company for your move, just make sure you confirm all of your moving details with them a few days in advance. They were a little bit disorganized in the office when gathering all of my information about the move and didn't book my date/time after I had spoken with a couple of different people.
