When your air is out with 90 or 100 degree weather, it's crucial to find a dependable company. My system was completely out of refrigerant due to a broken piece. My children pets & I had experience great heat for two months prior, as Absolute Hvac Guys LLC continually did not show up for their scheduled appointments and kept prolonging things claiming they had to order a part they don't carry... No show, no call or text - no consideration of one's time when they said they would be here to complete the work. I was especially worried about my birds who could have died. The other company is who installed the system only one year ago and it waa under warranty. The tech from Johnson & Johnson said the company should have made it a priority especially if they had installed it, and if their company had installed it and it had any issues arise, they would have fixed it immediately. I felt validated and he eased my fusteration. I saw another review on Yelp with a woman who experienced a similar situation with that other company too. When my landlord called Johnson & Johnson, we received a quick response...came out same day!! The tech was genuinely concerned about my family with the heat rising and assured me they will fix my unit as quickly as possible..and they did! The office ladies were friendly and communicated well with the scheduling, and when the tech was on his way, I knew ahead of time. The tech did show up when he was scheduled. In the future, It would be helpful if they ran through a few preliminary questions or pictures of the unit to see if a trip out is worth the time. Before the technician left I asked a few more questions before he suggested a Home Energy Audit. I'm hopeful that the home energy audit could put me on a better path to resolving the cooling issues in my home. I picked Exxel to replace our system based on these: 1. Very detailed quotes, model number, seer, eer, afue, capacity, etc. everything that I needed to research and compare. 2. Detail explanation of the warranty period. 3. Explanation of what would happen on the day of installation, again very detailed, so no surprises. 4. I asked for multiple quotes based on two stage and variable stage units and seers. Bob wasn't annoyed that I asked for multiple quotes so I can research and compare. He provided multiple quotes in less than 24hrs. Other companies seem annoyed that I asked for multiple quotes and didn't really provide what I asked for. I felt that he understood as consumers, we all do research before purchasing high price items and he was not annoyed with that fact. 5. I had additional questions (probably some stupid ones that hvac professionals get all the time) and Bob patiently answered my questions. At the day of the installation, they arrived within their estimated time. Bob and Greg were very professional. They called in the morning and gave me the arrival time. Since we don't wear shoes in our house, I had covered our floor with tarps, too my surprise they put their tarps on top of my tarps. It was totally fine with me considering they observed that we don't wear shoes and respected that and tried to keep our floors clean. The install took about eight hours and I was glad that there was no pressure to sell me other stuff. They cleaned up the area before leaving. I highly recommend Exxel and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.....when it's time to replace our upstairs heat pump.

The technician responded and diagnosed the issue as a blower motor malfunction due to improper maintenance on my part. My claim was denied by the warranty company. I have my unit serviced once a year, so I know the unit was properly maintained. I appealed the claim decision and had a telephone conference with the warranty company. A representative from the warranty company again stated that the claim was denied to due to lack of maintenance and stated that they would send me the photos of my unit submitted by Mr. IcyHot. I received the photos and discovered that 6 of the 8 photos sent to them by Mr. IcyHot were not my unit. It just so happens that the dirtiest photos of the photos sent were not my unit. The warrant company decided to send another company out to inspect my unit. The second company inspected the unit and found the the compressor was not working and needed to be replaced. The technician also stated that the unit was clean and had been properly maintained. The technician submitted his report to the warranty company and my claim was ultimately approved for repair. If I had not appealed the decision and requested the photos, I would have had a $8500 repair out of pocket. Be careful dealing with this company and verify, by getting a second opinion, what they are telling you is correct.

The communication was awful- it was impossible to get someone on the phone or get a clear timeline. It's so sad to spend so much money with someone and get treated like complete garbage. I later found out that the "total replacement" didn't include a basic backup heating element that any reputable vendor would have provide., or at least included in the proposal. They disconnected the 20 year old heating element and didn't hook it up to the new system. It took another month after they did the install to get any warranty paperwork. Honestly, this is just the tip of the iceberg- this company is bad news. I would avoid at all costs.

Someone came and replaced it, but Dave showed up the next day. When told that it was already replaced, Dave decided it was appropriate to start swearing at my spouse. When told it was rude he responded with, "F**ck you woman" and stormed off. I hope other SOS Air customers get better customer service.
