Dog park is well kept and very clean. They have a section eight of the entrance for water and there are bowls available. My golden retrievers loved it! Overall it's okay, their are two areas of the park, one for smaller dogs and the other for bigger dogs which is more spacious. This is the only off-leash dog park in Ewa/Kapolei area and my dog and I very much appreciate it. Around 5-6pm, so many dog owners gather here. There are a lot of parking spots so no worries. There are two separated areas for big and small doggies. I am not sure how people with multiple dogs sized differently do it. There are benches available. But they are limited so it is best to bring your own foldable chair. I have come across a few times someone didn't clean after his/her doggie. Please be a responsible owner and let's keep this dog park nice for everyone. read more

Pick up your poop I've been too a few dog parks but this one is the best so far. Forget the fact that it's walking distance from home. This dog park is just one big fenced area cut equality in half. One for the midget dogs and the other side for the Cujos (30lbs and bigger). I know you've seen that movie. There's one entrance for each half using the two gate system. One big draw back I have with this place is the poop bag dispenser is outside the fenced area. Most people have their bags attached to their pet's leash but the trash can is next to the bag dispenser!! Now I've taken crap from work (get it) but I hate taking crap from the dog and walking out the park to the trash can. Everyone at the park is friendly and so are the dogs. It seems everyone was sniffing butts. I just shook everyone's hand. The area is open sunrise to sunset and that's fine since the lighting is really poor. And if you wear open toe shoes, What the heck are you thinking?!?!?!? Overall four stars. Huge play area for your furry friend. Not five because of the location of the trash cans. This dog park is pretty cool there is about 2 or 3 different gated areas for you to take your dog in. Your dog is able to run around in those areas without leashes. While your dog plays, your children is able to play as well at the park. There is a play structure located next to the dog park. We haven't been here in a while but today was the perfect day to take our "kids" out to play. There are four new "baby" trees on property now with one that looks like it's dying of thirst. The park is sparse with a few areas that lack grass, I am assuming that there has been very little maintenance here. The grass definitely needs watering and the trees need tending to before they die. It's a fairly big dog park but not much to keep the dogs interested in playing. For the first time in two years our "kids" actually got to meet and play with Chico (a ptibull/terrier mix). They had a good time chasing each other but without obstacles and shade trees their play time was short lived. There was a huge basin for water which neither of the dogs wanted to drink from. Note to self to bring my dogs their own bowl and water next time we go to this park. There are many cared for dogs in the Ewa Gentry area and it's a shame that this beautiful park is not maintained any better. How about larger shade trees versus saplings that will take a long while to grow into some sort of shade? Or perhaps install a sprinkler system to assure that our "kids" play in grass versus red dirt. After a romp at the park, the "kids" were filthy with red dirt so it was a trip to Petco thereafter for a quick bath. This is actually a really great park. I am currently annoyed with the patrons. I just got here and no one is here and I picked up EIGHT piles, some fresh enough to be within hours, some diarrhea, some from same dog. I was picking up everyone else's poop when my dog took a poop and I used my last poop bag. The park itself is nice. Spacious. Separate areas for different sized dogs. Benches and a few trees to provide shade. Water spigot area. People have left a bowl and a few toys. I elect to not use the bowl as people don't dump out water and leave bowl upside down when they leave so rats visibly use the water source. There is also an accompanying playground with workout equipment and picnic tables. Nice clean bathrooms. Ample trash cans. The park is good. The people clearly suck. read more

I used to take my pomchi here when I was living in the area. Big & spacious. Loved how they separated small & big dogs to ensure safety. There's only two benches & not a lot of shade. Once afternoon, my boyfriend at the time & I brought my dog to play & socialize with other doggies. As soon as we entered the field he was attacked by 2 of the 3 French bull dogs from one group of people. None of the owners tried to call out for their dogs to stop or bothered to come & apologize or see if we were okay. Thankfully some of the dog owners there told them they had to leave. What made the situation worse however was their comment on how this dog park location has sensitive dogs. Pros: Friendly Pets (a few that were aggressive, but not too bad) Water A lot of dogs during 7am to 8am and 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Big space Secure A lot of bully breeds (I have two mixes and usually other bully breeds have the same temperament as they do. My girl has so much energy.) The clogged drainage and poor landscaping on the large dog side ensures that I have to give my dog a bath every single visit we make to this park. Gunner (my dog) loves going to the 30 lbs and under dog park at about 5:30 pm 3-5 times a week! We have been going for about 7 months now and the other dogs and owners are now our friends! The crowd can range from 5-10 dogs around 5:30-sunset so beware if your dog is antisocial. Be sure to bring poop bags, water and a folding chairs very limited seating. Wear bug spray because lots of gnats if moisture in the air. The grass is fairly well kept. Beware of unsupervised children coming in and out of the dog park! They want to play with the dogs but, gates have been left open and dogs have gotten out. Twice I have witnessed this happen. Both times it wa unsupervised children. read more

My dog Eevie is a regular at this dog park, for the most part it's clean and fairly well maintained by the association, but every now and then you'll have owners come in and neglect picking up their dog'a poop. The regular dogs/owners that come by often are great and their dogs are friendly/well behaved, it's the ones that don't go to the parks often or owners not watching their dogs you should be wary off. I definitely wouldn't recommend bringing a puppy here who hasn't finished their parvo series just because of the amount of dogs that go through this place. Otherwise my dog is happy when she goes here and the regulars that come here are awesome. Just also wish there was more benches and the best time to come is 5pm/sunset. Came here in the middle of the day and it's just too dang hot. Don't expect other dogs to be there outside the evening. read more

It's an all right dog park. Perfect to let your dogs run loose and burn some energy. Park is separated into a small and large dog area. Outside the park, playground and restrooms are located closeby. It is within a residential area, so its quiet. If you're lost, its literally across from ewa beach safeway. The park itself has little shade and two park benches. The grassy area hasn't been taken care of when I went, hopefully it does later. Just be aware where you walk. Lol. read more

Irresponsible dog owners.. People literally bring their dogs here to CRAP and Donot pick it up..they will play on their phones or watch and do nothing about it. No one carries poop bags with them, that is how you automatically know they are not cleaning up the mess. My dog has been attacked Upon entering more then once..this is not a place to bring an unsocialized dog to get experience you need to take them to a trainer and stop putting other dogs safety in jeopardy. Simple dog park with differed the sections for different size dogs. It has a hose which I appreciate, and a few benches. Garbage can for poop bags is a little inconveniently placed, and it can get kinda muddy are the only down sides. I do like this dog park but the community is what makes or breaks a dog park in my opinion. This park usually gets pretty good treatment from whoever cuts the grass buht I have come a few times and the grass was pretty tall at least a months worth of growth. The hard part is irresponsible dog owners don't clean up after their pups and I see a lot if dried up poop around when I'm playing with my pup. Please clean up after your pets. Also people have to understand when their dogs are aggressive and fight other dogs, they cannot play in a park. A lot of people used to come to this park but I barely see anyone anymore. Some people like parks with more shade I guess and this one is a really good sized open area with barely any shade. And it can be quite muddy after a rain. read more

I've lived in Ewa Beach my whole life and never knew this dog park existed! Brought my two little dogs today. There is one fenced off area for small dogs, and a fenced off area for big dogs. Unfortunately, the big dog area is being renovated and has been closed off for weeks. So all the dogs were in the small dog area. All the dogs were cute and played so well together, except my two little ones (the only little ones there) were afraid of the big ones running around and with all the extra wear and tear it was a bit muddy, which is why I'm giving it only 2 stars. I love in makakilo and this is my closet dog park. Great for my nervous 18lb terrier as there's a park for large and little. Everytime I come there is no one else here. Parking is great. Some toys and water bowls left for the community to use. (I always bring my own!) I'm always picking up other dogs poop while I'm there. Grass is very green and it's well kept. Quote modern looking. Two separate areas, dogs over 30 lbs and dogs under 30 lbs. The larger dog area is nice and big, and the one for smaller dogs is adequate for the size difference. Water is provided in both areas and there is nice grass also. I have both a big and small dog, one is 60lbs and the other is 9lbs. If there arent any other dogs in either pen, ill take both in there and let them play. There have only been few upsetting instances with other owners, nothing to convince me to leave. CONVENIENT especially for those living in Kapolei where there's no "dog park." This dog park is also known as HOALAUNA DOG PARK. The park is split into two sides, one for little dogs (under 30lbs) & one for big dogs. I know every dog owner has their preference, but I do prefer one large parks for dogs to mingle over the separation ( I have 3 dogs, of different sizes). Each side is fenced and secure. There are two benches on each side but almost no shady trees to even stand under & it gets REALLY hot so go in the evening. It's more muddy/dirt than grassy. Our first time there I decided to try out the split and brought my two small dogs to the less than 30lbs side & to be completely honest, dog fights were happening every 30 mins or less with owners slow to react & instead of taking responsibility for their own pets, blame the others. My pup was ofcourse oblivious to it all but I decided to be proactive and just move over to the large dog side where there was less drama. I do understand that at every dog park there's always a risk of aggressive dogs, but what gets me is the owners I've seen are slow to react and don't really pay attention. Also, if your dog is a runner and loves fetch, the large dog side may not be large enough for he/she to open up. This is a great park because it's close by, but if we have the time, I'm willing to make the drive to Mililani. read more

It's good that they have a park like this in ewa gentry, but I have two complaints about the place. 1) I wish they'd pour a good section of concrete where the water hose and bowl is. That the one reason why I stopped taking my dog there, mud! 2) the fence is sometimes missing sections. Be sure to check the perimeter of the fence if your dog is a runner. Actually, the only plus for me is that it's so close to home. Don't go out of your way to go there though, nothing special. read more

A small dog section and a large dog section !!! Perfect. The two times that I have visited this location the dog park was empty. Perfect. A large running enclosure for our two dogs. Pros: The large enclosure is very nice. There is enough room for larger dogs to play fetch and run around. The entrance to the dog enclosure is simply but effective. When you enter, you enter a small enclosure where you can unleash your pups. Ensure that they first gate is closed before you do so or else they will run free. I have read a few reviews about the park pre renovation. Personally, I have not been to the park before the renovations so I see no faults in the fencing (see below reviews). Cons: Little to NO shade for both the humans and the dogs. I came here during the afternoon and the sun was hot and shinning. The only shade is a small tree that is by the dog water area. If you have big dogs like us, only one pup can fit in the shade. On our second visit, the dog water area was muddy and resembled a muddy watering hole that you would see on the Discovery Channel. Of course, the pups decided to roll around in the mud to cool off. I would recommend filling the dirt areas with grass or some type of material that prevents dirt from turning into mud. I am also not a fan of the limited trash bins. For example, there are NO trash bins within the dog park. So, when you pick up their poop (which you should be doing as a responsible dog owner) you must walk outside of the enclosure to throw away the trash. This may be the reason that some owners leave their poop bags on the ground in the enclosure (gross) The location is convenient for me since I am an 'Ewa Beach resident. Quick question: Who upkeeps these dog parks? Can we get more shade and trash bins in or near the park fences. read more

The dog park is awesome. However my family has been going to this dog park for over a year. So it came as a surprise to me when my hubby and another man got into it because his dog bit our dog and made him bleed. The owner of the dog did not apologize, he said "your dog is in my dogs personal space." That is wrong. If your dog is aggressive at all then please do not bring them to a public area where dogs go and play. Dogs will be dogs that is one thing we can't stop but if your dog is biting other dogs for sniffing, or playing then your dog is aggressive. read more

The problem with this dog park is it's such a nice area but the people are awful! I took my dog here today and before even getting into the big dog park three dogs came running over and started growling and snapping at my dog. I picked him up since he was cowering and the dogs were still jumping and the owners did NOTHING!! They didn't even try to secure their dog so we could immediately leave. I wish I could say this was a one time thing but there are constantly dogs that are aggressive and their owners make excuses. Don't go between 5-7 because that's when they're all there. read more
