As Mike has been in the business for 20 years and the glowing reviews on Yelp, WeddingWire, and the Knot, I made the mistake of booking him. Mike loves to march to his own beat and is extremely disorganized, ill-prepared, lazy, inattentive to details, unprofessional, outdated, lackadaisical, and quite frankly a bozo. While I was impressed by all of the vendors at my wedding, I was seething and cringing by Mike's countless mistakes. As other Yelpers have noted, Mike is highly skilled at mixing beats for Hindu/American fusion weddings and getting everyone to hit the dance floor. However, Mike caters to the crowd rather than to the bride and groom. There's "no magic", here are Mike's top 8 blunders which I confronted him at the end of my wedding night: #1: Using an old schedule that was 2 months old! After 3 phone calls with Mike and sending him a few revised schedules based on feedback that he provided, he used the 1st schedule that I sent him with wrong bridal party names, songs, and times! He neglected all of the changes that we discussed on the phone and failed to use the new schedule that I sent a week before the wedding like he requested. When 5 names are mentioned, but only 2 women and a man walk out to "Sister Sledge" playing, that's a blunder! #2: Missing Cues/Repeated stepping of glasses. My fiancee and I are highly private people and don't enjoy long kissing sessions in front of our parents and friends. We actually took out all kissing pics from our slideshow. During the reception, after a big frown and shaking of the head after the 1st stemming of glasses, Mike initiated and continued to round up the crowd for additional stemming of glasses. It got so bad that some of the bridal party members broke some of the glasses in retailation. The stemming of the glasses is a topic that I also wish Mike discussed with us before the wedding so we could have easily prevented this embarrassing mishap. #3 Announcing the grooms name first and then the bride's name. A big no-no! "Peter and Aarti Pruitt". Mike believes in men first, even at weddings. #4 Playing songs on the "Do NOT play list". I hate "Gangnam Style" with a passion and it was among the 20 don't play list. Not only did Mike happily play the song, but he refused to change the song when I asked him to! That wasn't the only one... #5 Begging for a Big Tip. Mike isn't shy about charging top dollar $3K and the audacity to ask my father for a big tip before the event! The bozo loves to overpromise and underdeliver. My dad was way too nice to tip him $200. As a firm believer of tips, I honestly would NOT tip him. #6: Trying to Upsell at the WRONG time. Mike and I had a couple of minutes before the reception started. Rather than using this crucial time to discuss making any last-minute changes to the schedule (ex. moving things up as we wanted to skip sunset pics due to the weather), instead Mike kept trying to repeatedly sell us on the dhol guy. I hate BHANGRA, why would I pay extra for it? #7 Forgetting to play the cake cutting song. I was looking forward to hearing my favorite Baby Love during the cake cutting, too bad I never got the chance to hear it! #8 Not taking full ownership. After confronting Mike about all of the blunders listed above, he kept deflecting and making excuses. Despite repeated emails and phone calls before the wedding, Mike was very ill-prepared and was "winging" it at the wedding with sheepish grins. While I appreciate Mike's apology for his mistakes in a follow-up email that he sent, he doesn't take away from the painful memories that I experienced due to his careless mistakes. He single-handedly ruined the reception. Not once did Mike make it about the bride and the groom, it was more of Mike's day and pleasing the crowd. If you want to make your day special, I recommend tuning him out and enjoying the beat of someone else.

For our wedding, Lifetime Ent. supplied multiple screens with towers, colorful light display, audio including for our videographer to connect to, photo booth, sparkulars, and the fog machine for the "dancing on clouds" effect. If you can, request Benny to be your MC! His vibes were awesome all night and until this day, we keep calling him Benny Benassi. He and Ian kept everyone dancing and it became a night we will always remember. Disclosure: He is not actually Benny Benassi, haha. There is no question that Ian and his team have been doing this for some time and do it well. Rob and Jeremy are AWESOME at what they do, and they kept our wedding bumping even though it was a day wedding. For a great price, Rob was able to accommodate all my musical needs starting from my ceremony music, cocktail hour, to 4 hour reception. I was also extremely adamant about having the "dancing on the clouds" addition to my first dance, which Rob delivered to perfection. He helped me make mindful edits and suggestions as an unexpected injury almost sidelined the whole event. His team was so understanding at pivoting all throughout the day. There were so many last minute changes that took place. They were such great sports about everything. They were super patient, very professional when approached and helped me with every change up needed. All of my guests had a fabulous time with DJ Winston, spinning tunes and giving out light up sticks on the dance floor (that was a very nice surprise). Winston was so easy to work with. He arranged our playlist perfectly. Ben, our photographer, was really super! He helped us with staging, posing, checked for optimal angles and lighting. Did retakes on the spot if it wasn't perfect. I really appreciated that. All throughout the event, he was running around taking shots, double and triple checking my pre-set list of must have photos. He didn't miss a beat. During our event, I recall seeing him on the floor, behind the tables, by the back wall - I mean he was literally everywhere! I think he was more anxious than I, about the photos I said I wanted as he reminded me a few times that I didn't take the few shots that said I wanted. LOL (No worries Ben, you did it, we got them all)! And kudos to our photo booth attendant, Jeffrey. A man of very few words but he was patient and took care of 70+ guests in 4 hours. He manned the photo booth solo and it ran very smoothly. Between the multiple prints for each person and those re-takes, he was so quick. (Some of us were caught off guard so outtakes and retakes were indeed a thing). The 40+ teens definitely had a great time taking photos at the booth. All of our photos came out great. Choosing the photo layout and card design was actually the hard part - we took a bit of time to choose. Our guests really enjoyed the variety of props provided, you could tell the had fun with it. The best part was the silver backdrop we chose for our booth -- it was classy and stylish. Loved it and it complimented our decor! I totally recommend Dynasty Weddings without reservation. When it came down to the wedding, everything was amazing! Everyone was raving about the photo booth and the animated GIFS! The prints/photos were some of the highest quality I have seen from a wedding! Tommy was great with the light setup and managing the photo booth! Following the wedding, we also received a photo gallery. The pictures were enhanced and everyone looked amazing in their shots. Chris and his team provided ease of access to the photos for us to relive all the memories! DJ Lo provided such a great ambiance and really transformed the dance floor when the time came! He understood what the wedding needed in terms of music and was great with accommodating all of our song requests. The music really brought everyone together and made it a fun night!
