Look, I hate to do this, yelp reviews are the worst format on the planet and I want small businesses to succeed. I found Gerard through Bark and met him, did the assessment and signed up for a package. He then proceeded to change the date of our meeting times twice (once on the actual day), and he completely didn't show on another time and claimed we had agreed on a different time but I sent him a photo of our text exchange to prove we hadn't. I believe in giving folks chances, but this was the third time of flaking and at this point I asked for my money back. He was ok with that and claimed he'd send me a check. Then a week went by. Then two. Then two more. He said it "got lost in the mail"--I waited another month. He still claimed he'd drop by with it and he never did. Eventually, I had to file a claim with my credit card company to get my money back. The owner of the gym even asked Gerard to leave because he's done this to other people too. Find someone more reliable. read more

Evolutionary Fitness changed my life 100%. I was overweight and (treading water) at the gym and with my diet. Gerard completely changed my workout routine. Now I am excited to get to the gym. My experience with Gerard and his gym: * He was frequently late to our training sessions * He double-books training appointments (without your knowledge/consent) * He talks about his personal problems while you're working out. * Sometimes brings his young daughter to your training sessions. * The gym is not heated and poorly maintained. My husband and I have been working out together with Gerard for 5 months or so and he has been nothing short of amazing. He tailors the workouts to match our ability, but also pushes us so that we get stronger. When we both started, we didn't have a lot of stamina or strength and would tire easily. I'm sorry to say this but Gerard has no integrity. I signed an agreement for a certain number of training sessions and then he could not give me all of them because his gym fell through. STAY AWAY!!! Gerard used to be my trainer 7 + years ago - he was fantastic. He got me in great shape. I moved to SF a few years ago-- he said he would come to SF - he would help me workout there. We met at Chrissy Field and I had a good workout. I bought a package of 6 more for $600 last year. He had some personal difficulties as did I. When I was back on track this year, hoping he was too. He said he couldn't come to SF /I would have to go up to Marin. I said No you said you would come to SF. I had referrals for him too so he could make more money and have new clients. He basically told me I had to go to him in Marin. I told him I couldn't- time constraints. I told him I wanted my money back- one workout at Chrissy Field was not worth $600. He said I could send my referrals to him to use my workouts. I told him they NOW have no desire to workout with him. I'm sorry he went through such a loss in his personal life. I worked out with him for at least for 2 years while in Marin and paid lots of hard earned money for it. I can't believe he won't refund money. Gerard is nothing but a con artist. Do Not get hooked into him and his training. There are many other people who do the training he does and who are Trustworthy. I would STAY AWAY!!!!! read more
