Checked out this place with friends specifically for their aerial yoga class…read more We were the only first timers there; everyone else has been before. Can't tell if the instructor modified the pace of the class for us or if it's typical for the class to go from one pose to another. The instructor had to help us a lot and we skipped completing some poses fully so the class could move on but it was quite intimidating to be in a full class where people could easily go into the poses and we were struggling... the tone was a lot more zen than upbeat so at times it felt inappropriate to laugh even though you can't help but let out some chuckles when you know you/your friends are being a little ridiculous and just not getting the hang of it. We ended off the session with an upside down pose. While the instructor taught us how to get into the pose, they didn't teach how to get out of it yet and I was stuck upside down for quite a while while they were helping out my friends. Ended up leaving the session feeling very sick as I was hanging upside down for longer than I had liked. I'm glad I tried it but it's probably not a sport that's for me. If you're new, be sure to let the instructor know right off so they can get you in a good spot and so they can actively watch and correct you throughout the session.

Being able to touch my toes This place has me converted from yoga videos at home to practicing yoga on a (real!) mat with (real!) people. I love that this place has a LOT of hardcore yoga people but in no way do they give off that vibe. There are so many classes at varying levels that you can challenge yourself to progress from hatha to hatha flow to power flow (or Andrew's wild thing wednesdays if you're pretty advanced OR an idiot like me who thought that was supposed to be an easy class...fyi, I survived but barely). They will also tell you that most classes are multilevel since you can always do modifications if you're just starting out...Don't be afraid to take it to the next level if you can. I love going to Chris, Karens, Nicole or Andrews classes. The good news? Not only can I touch my toes, I can freakin' do side planks and full pushups now! Six months ago, I would have told you that was crazy talk. There's still no way in hell I can do those pretzel-y poses but hey, it's a start.

I find I get charged for classes I was not even attending. You get a 20 charge if you don't cancel within 4 hours which for young families with kids that get sick , or if your sick it doesn't matter ... 20 bucks. and it's funny how it says in their policy that you should not attend class if you have a cough or a runny nose but yet a 20 buck charge to prevent getting others sick! So now there are sick people attending class. You could have Covid and they still charge you 20 bucks. The thought of sick people in studio is disturbing especially with going through a pandemic. I cancelled my membership because of this. But... they continued to charge my card after I left. I made the mistake of buying a punch pass for the one awesome instructor there and for some reason it won't let me book classes after dropping another 200 plus and it's asking me to pay again Omg. I have heard this from several other members as well. I don't normally write reviews. I used to love this studio. I had several of my friends join and they are leaving too.

It's a complete gong show in between two classes, lots of people going in and out, and waiting to use the washroom. That's not a very relaxing, grounding way to start a class. The yoga instructor didn't introduce herself, and didn't ask if anyone is injured. Throughout the class, she didn't provide modification in postures besides chaturanga. Towards the last 10-15 minutes, because people are waiting for next class outside, the wind down and savasana portion was getting pretty loud, definitely not how I want to end a class.

Still, everyone was in good spirits and had a really warm, close-knit community feel. However, I think most of the time, the classes are much smaller from the conversations I heard from others. It had a different vibe from other studios I've been to where it was just go and do yoga and go home. Everyone seemed to know each other, and it was a nice change. Claudia, who runs the studio was very welcoming and friendly. I wasn't able to find any free parking in the area, but for those coming by the train would be convenient as it is right by Holdom station. There is less than 6 people or so to every class I have been to. I have always been made to feel 100% welcome, it's not intimidating like other studios. The teachers provide a lot of personal attention, especially in smaller classes - which I really appreciate. They have small items for sale such as Lara bars, loose leaf tea (their own special blends), books, and Thai pants among other things. I recently bought a reusable Libre tea bottle and some loose leaf tea- they were having a 30% off sale so I got them for a good price :)
