I've been seeing Drew for about 2.5 months for lower back pain that I started experiencing after an auto accident and I cannot say better things about my experience with Evolution PT! I was previously seeing a chiropractor who I was working with for about a month since the accident but felt my recovery had been plateauing so I decided to start PT. Drew is thorough in my care and treatment plan and I have come such a long way since starting PT at Evolution. The PT aides are also all so friendly and knowledgeable and motivating. Also, a shoutout to Phil who convinced me to get started on PT with Evolution. You will definitely be in good hands with the team here! read more

Excellent therapists. I had Drew Nielson-Lyman. He is awesome and is very knowledgeable. I had great success regaining mobility on my injured knee read more

There are not enough stars available on yelp to give to Kelli at Evolution Santa Monica! She has found her calling and is a true healer. Professionally she has an exceptional background and passes along her knowledge throughout all of our sessions. I trust her completely which is a gift to give to your patients. She is so personable, authentic, encouraging, caring, and funny! Kelli is an old soul that also knows how to heal her patients at an emotional level which is such a big part of the healing process that few people talk about. I genuinely feel we were meant to meet and trust she will help me get strong and healthy. A few months back I tore part of my Achilles heel and was told that surgery was a strong possibility by my doctor. I went in to PT feeling cautiously optimistic that therapy could help avoid surgery. After one session with Kelli, she set my mind at ease that surgery could be avoided if together we set up a game plan and strengthen the muscles to get me properly back on my feet. Thankfully my heel is progressing nicely and I know it has everything to do with her skilled approach. I also want to give a special shout out to CJ who is the new PT associate. She is also very skilled in her field and does an amazing job of keeping me focused and using all the right muscles during each exercise. We all share a lot of laughs during the session which makes the hour fly by, but at the end of it I'm sweating and know we've successfully completed all of the exercises they have customized just for me. Sending a heartfelt thank you to these amazing ladies! Also a small added note re covid - going anywhere during covid feels a bit nerve wracking, but this facility is super clean and masks are worn correctly the whole time. Thank you Evolution Santa Monica!!!! read more

I've been to Evolution (Cindy was my PT) for a couple different things - wrist pain, snapping hip, and a sprained ankle. I've been so impressed every time - there is great, personalized care where you really get an understanding of what is going on and make progress toward fixing it. Would recommend to anyone! read more

You are in excellent hands with Wayne Gilmore and the staff at Evolution. Extremely knowledgeable and very personable. They will put you at ease as a treatment plan is developed to address your PT needs. Of course what matters most is results. I've seen a number of PT professionals in West LA for sports related issues over the years. None have come close to the improvements I've been able to achieve at Evolution. I could not give them a more enthusiastic endorsement. They are the best! read more

I've been going to Evolution Physical Therapy 4 times a week for 2 1/2 months to treat two different injuries. My first injury has plagued me for 6yrs of disability, has been treated by a plethora of doctors, braces, 2 prior physical therapists, and rib resection surgery. For this, I've seen primarily Drew, and he's been amazing! Despite still having a way to go, I've had incredible advancement. For my more recent ankle injury, I've seen Phil, and he's put me through the paces. With his help, I've already gone from being unable to walk my dog to hiking. I still have some work to do before I'm good to run and do the SM stairs, but I'm close. They are both quite attentive, really enjoy working with patients and the other staff, all of whom seem to like their jobs and working with patients. Given my dramatic improvement, I'd strongly recommend Evolution PT. read more

Cindy is one of the best physical therapists I've had in my entire life. And my mom, sister and brother-in-law are all PTs! 100% recommended. Kind, gentle and very professional. read more

I've been a client of Evolution PT for many years. This was my first time receiving PT at their Santa Monica location. Their entire staff is superb. Stephanie at the front desk is always on top of scheduling and has given me advanced notice when I need to move my appointments around. For my current injury, I've been working with JP and he's been a great partner in helping me get better. He is super knowledgeable and has great bedside manner. A big shout out to his colleague, Dinah, who provides me with cues and feedback as I perform the exercises and positively encourages me to push myself a bit more during each session. Should I have another ailment that requires PT, I definitely plan on coming back. read more

Kelli and team put me back together! I had been suffering from chronic / overuse pain for years, but thanks to her (and everyone at Evolution, really), I'm back to feeling like myself and able to push myself in ways I thought I never would again! 10/10 can't recommend Evolution, and especially Kelli, enough! read more

My 12 year old son has been seeing Kelli Schneider over the past 6-8 weeks for Sever's Disease. Not only is he currently pain free but he hesitated to be released from the program simply because he has loved coming to PT. Kelli and the entire staff at Evolution provided excellent care for my son. He was treated like a serious athlete from day 1 and it made a world of difference. He was taught his exercises in a thorough and clear way so that he never had problems repeating those activities at home. If you have a child athlete and are looking for an amazing Physical Therapist with a talent for working with youth athletes, Kelli and Evolution Physical Therapy should be your first call. read more

My review is for Kristyn. I have only started my physical therapy treatment recently but already there's been a big difference in my recovery. As a daily long-distance and marathon runner, i suffered a very bad leg injury after the 2022 LA marathon. With Kristyn's help, there have been steady improvements made, but more importantly she has given me hope that one day my leg will reach full recovery, which was my worry because I was at the point where I thought that my leg would never be the same ever again. Thanks Kristyn! read more

JP is a wizard! I got a terrible high hamstring strain 6 weeks out from the Chicago Marathon and couldn't even walk around the block, let alone run. I was crushed. But JP kept me optimistic and stepped be through a recovery program that had me back jogging after only 4 weeks, half the time it was supposed to take. I was then able to complete the race a few weeks later, and cross the line with a smile on my face. Thank you guys for your care, support, and optimism. Couldn't have got there without you. read more

Great PT, Drew & team are kind, knowledgeable, and helped me recover quicker and stronger than I'd anticipated.

Very impressed with Evolution, the staff genuinely care about your individual situation and take the time to customize your recovery program. Staff are very experienced, they take time to ask the right questions and LISTEN to my concerns and questions. My recovery from a broken leg/ankle was very involved. I feel this facility was the perfect choice for me and I highly recommend. Cindy is my therapist and has far exceeded my expectations for my recovery. read more

Cindy is the best PT experience I have ever had. Her clinical expertise is hard to beat and she was able to diagnosis my shoulder issue immediately and refer me to (finally) the right MD. So happy finally found someone after 8 years to help me with a solution for my pain . Thank you!!! read more

Hi, Evollution PT in Santa Monica is, for me, the best. I have a few doctors at UCLA,, my primary care doc and my orthopedic among others and I encourage them to refer patients to Evolution. My current PT is Kerry and she is absolutely amazing. I am being treat for a shoulder injury and all the wear and tear that has accumulated over the years. Kerry know the exact pace to go, always moving forward and progressing in my rehabilitation. PT as anyone knows is not easy, it's hard work and commitment to the process. Kerry provides me with the motivation and all the right tools to stay the course and I'm very grateful to her. Also, I find the whole staff just warm and welcoming. I feel very comfortable there. It's my home PT. Really I can't see myself going anywhere else. I was here a few years ago for hip issues and worked with Kerry and Krysten at that time and again both were excellent and very professional and helped me resolve all the pain issues and I still do those PT exercises. Thank you to all. To anyone reading all these reviews give Evolution PT a go. You will be rewarded with better health. read more

Following my total knee replacement, I chose physical therapy at Evolution Physical Therapy in Santa Monica. I gained back motion, strength and stability in my knee and presently 14 weeks post op feel wonderful! I was so fortunate to have Drew as my therapist but I believe that all of the therapists are of the highest caliber and take their jobs and clients very seriously. I was never bored or hesitant to come in. Drew was very encouraging and professional and used a variety of effective exercises and therapy for my success. He made PT actually fun! I also want to mention that the PT assistants were fantastic and effective! read more

Hands down best PTs in the biz! I partially tore some things in my shoulder and ended up working with the Santa Monica team for almost 5 months. I couldn't have loved working with Cindy, Kerry and Kelli more. I ended up working with all 3 of them on various occasions and always felt like they were up to speed on where I was at in the recovery process. I never felt rushed at a session, always felt listened to and got great feedback from both PTs and the aides when doing exercises in my sessions. They were great about giving me home exercises and could always tell when I'd be doing them consistently. All my progress and sessions were grounded in the goals I set at the beginning or working with the team. And even though they're busy, Abel is the best and will do whatever he can to make your scheduling needs work. Overall, the working with Evolution PT was an excellent experience! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Cindy and Kelli. Both of them were extremely helpful and had great knowledge of exactly what is going on with my injury and how I'm feeling with it. They are both professional and extremely kind, making me feel relaxed and confident with the recovery. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for physical therapy. read more

Such an amazing experience here at PT with Drew. He is super smart, friendly, and motivating (as are the rest of the employees). I have a herniated disc in my upper spine (neck area) and it's been a struggle to say the least. He worked on helping me strengthen all areas around my spine (I've been going there for over 6 months). The session is an hour long with half being hand work therapy/stretch and the other half being gentle work outs (which gradually get more difficult). Overall an amazing place for PT! read more

Kelli is quite knowledgeable and helped me with my physical therapy issues. She is personable and a joy to work with. Her assistant, Alex, is also great to work with and very attentive and professional. I highly recommend this group. read more

Far and away the best PT experience I've ever had - and I've needed PT on and off more than 30 years in 3 different cities. From their knowledge and expertise, to tangible improvement and results, to care and office management, there's really not a weak link in this place. Cindy is my primary therapist, and is totally fantastic, plus the others also have filled in without missing a beat. All of the assistants are kind, smart and dedicated. Mynina at the front desk is simply amazing - always immediately responsive, meticulously organized and genuinely nice - so rare nowadays at a care facility. Evolution, SM was the first place recommended by my back surgeon, who is one of the top orthopedic/neurosurgeons in the US, and now I can see why he spoke so highly of them. It's a perfect facility in every way. 10 stars. read more

If you are suffering an injury (even from long ago), take advantage of this pandemic downtime and heal yourself! Your body will thank you in the long run and you are capable of healing so much faster than you know. Our bodies are amazing and Evolution Therapy has helped me realize my capabilities (both physically and mentally)! The environment is very clean and they are very mindful of taking the correct precautions to ensure safety. They have one of the most beautiful, state-of-the-art gyms and I love gyms so this makes me feel so cool coming to workout here. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. This is my second physical therapist and I can truly say I feel so much more comfortable and happy moving to this company. I have been suffering a knee injury for the past 8 months and just began working with Kelli here about 3 weeks ago. We have had two sessions per week and just in this short time, she has been able to guide me from barely being able to go up and down the stairs three times to strengthening my muscles enough so I am finally back running!! I am an avid runner and consider myself to be a non-competing athlete, so being unable to exercise for almost a year and learning that it was just about strengthening the right groups to ease pressure of my knee was life changing, especially from a mental warrior standpoint. Kelli extremely knowledgeable and perceptive in seeing exactly what is going on in my body. She has this special gift where she can literally tell what and where I'm feeling pain. She is knows what I need when I need it and is very clear and specific in how I can continue to improve my form and supplement my treatment. She is extremely warm and kind, very open and understanding, accommodating, and charismatic. Her personality makes me look forward to seeing her which is great because it makes PT a fun experience. Kelli has a beautiful soul inside and out, she reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast (lovely and intelligent), and sends me lots of videos to encourage me to continue my PT at home. In summation, Kelli is amazing, anyone will be lucky to work with her as she knows what she is doing and loves the process genuinely. I can't wait to see how we continue to progress! Thank you Kelli for your dedication and encouragement. You are the best! read more

I worked with Kelli over nearly a 5-month recovery for a ruptured Achilles. She was fantastic along with the team of assistants. I felt like home and truly enjoyed the rehab process. Her attention to detail is so strong and she truly cares about your personal goals. Also, CJ was so enjoyable to work with as well. She has a great attitude and brings a positive energy to the sessions. I'd highly recommend Kelli and Evolution in general for any sports injury! read more

Highly recommend Evolution Physical Therapy if you are looking for a physical therapist in the Santa Monica area. They were very quick in responding to all my questions about scheduling, insurance, etc. I needed rehab for an ACL revision and definitely suggest seeing Cindy. She was very knowledgeable in answering all of my concerns and providing feedback. She tailors exercises based on your comfort level to a point where you she pushes you but not to a point of discomfort. Also, the office is well equipped with high quality equipment to help with any stage of recovery you are in. Their office is located inside TrifitLA gym and they validate parking. Overall, great service and staff! read more

I've had a few running related injuries over the years and Evolution Physical Therapy always makes me feel brand new. The entire treatment happened over zoom, and Kelli did a great job of cueing exercises remotely. Highly recommend! read more

I highly recommend this place. I have been coming here for PT for three different health issues I had. I have done PT at other places before, and I noticed that the quality of PT at this place is so much better. Here they focus on your goals, and push you to accomplish them while always checking that you are not in pain, and that the exercises are being helpful. I learned about Evolution because Cindy came to my workplace, and I am glad they came because otherwise, I wouldn't have known this place existed, that it's super convenient in terms of location and scheduling, and that they take my insurance, Blue Shield of California. I have been seeing JP for about one year, and he is an excellent PT. I am very happy with the work we have been able to accomplish together, and how we are working together to going back to my old self before my health issues. I am already able to do many activities I wasn't comfortable doing and that would cause me a lot of pain. He is very kind, and I love that JP doesn't try to keep you coming if you don't need it. He gives you plenty of independence and good excercises to perform at home while also leaving the door open for you to talk to him if you have any concerns. Dinah and Tony have been great supports as well when following my exercise plan. They are both very cool, make you feel super comfortable and explain the exercises in an easy to understand manner. Shout-out to Cindy for always helping with questions I have, any support I need with payments and for her great attitude whenever I go to Evolution. I recommend this place to my friends and coworkers. Great job Evolution PT! read more

First time patient of Evolution Physical Therapy and very satisfied with my treatment. I had a fractured spine and a lot of physical trauma to my upper body due to a car accident that resulted in surgery. The best. read more

Cindy and her team at Evolution we're a dream. Thanks to their excellent care, I'm stronger than I was before my injury. I ruptured L4 S1 and couldn't walk for a couple weeks. I am SO thankful I found Cindy & the team at Evolution Santa Monica. I had several lingering sports injuries that fully stopped me from working out and functioning normally, which drastically affected my life. From being an athlete, I was looking for someone who would coach me along the way and be in it with me, not just hand me off to the support team. Cindy led with an incredible attention to detail and level of care to explain what was happening and how I was progressing. Her & her team are really friendly and professional, but also very fun to be around, which makes the entire process much more enjoyable. Can't thank her enough! I highly suggest this team & Evolution location :) read more

I highly recommend seeing Cindy at Evolution PT within the TriFit gym whether you're recovering from a major injury, looking to increase your mobility or just looking to get some focused fitness improvements! I've seen Cindy for multiple injuries, inflammation and stiffness and she's helped get me better every time! She's very methodical and detailed with her assessments. She also uses a variety of treatment methods including stretching, mobility, compression, ice, massage, scraping, cupping and a number of others. You also get 1-on-1 treatment with Cindy and then a supporting aid with each appointment. You're never double booked and never waiting as her treatments are both effective and timely. read more

I've been going to physical therapy for over 2 years now in 3 different cities (including a few others in SaMo) due to a ruptured disk in my lower back and I have never seen anyone as good as Cindy at Evolution. I highly recommend Cindy for anyone that needs a good Physical Therapist. read more

If you ever get the opportunity to have Cindy Liang as your PT, you'll soon realize how fortunate you are to have such a caring, compassionate and awesome PT! I've had the privilege of working with her in different settings and different occasions, and she has been freaking awesome through and through. Being a doctor of physical therapy myself, I can see and feel how much she loves this profession but more importantly, how much she cares for her patients. Constantly trying to hone in on her craft and dedicated to improving the quality of life of her patients, you cannot get a better PT to help you reach your goals! read more

Cannot recommend Cindy & team enough! I was experiencing pain in my glute that felt sort of like nerve pain, but didn't cause numbness. I had gone to my campus provided doctor and physical therapy and they both thought it was a muscle injury and I was told it would get better in a few months. After about a year of PT with them, I was only getting partially better and the improvements never stayed. I went to a doctor at the UCLA practice and she recommended I go to Evolution Physical Therapy. She mentioned Cindy by name and I'm so glad I made the extra effort to go to Santa Monica from DTLA every 2 weeks. As Cindy evaluated me she was very sympathetic and understanding, and super friendly! She found out that what was going on was a piriformis muscle irritation, which was also causing some nerve pain. Over the course of roughly 16 visits (some virtual some in person) she instructed me on a variety of exercises and stretches that all really helped. Within the first two months I was already feeling so much better. I was really worried that I would be stuck with this issue for maybe forever, but after about half a year I feel better than ever! The improvement in symptoms is consistent and Cindy has set me up with manageable home exercises and habits that make me confident that I will stay that way. Throughout treatment Cindy and the Evolution PT team were very kind, considerate and friendly. She offered great care that was free of judgement and full of encouragement (even when I had some rough weeks and didn't do as many exercises as I should have). Again, couldn't recommend her enough! Last little thing - they moved to a new location recently and will be updating it to be all their own, super exciting for any new patients. It's a super convenient location with free parking in the back! read more

I was fortunate enough to hear about Evolution Physical Therapy from a friend. I have been working Cindy at Evolution PT within the TriFit gym since suffering from a serious knee injury that kept me away from running for a while. Cindy has been awesome and I recommend her to everyone around me. She has helped me to get back on my feet on time for triathlon racing season and has since then helped me a lot with mobility and strength. Cindy is very accurate in her assessments. She knew what kind of injury I was suffering from before talking to a doctor. Her treatments are also very varied and have an immediate positive impact. Her methods included stretching, mobility, compression, icing, massage, scraping, cupping and a number of others. Besides getting personal treatment from Cindy, she is surrounded by an amazing team (especially Ben) who support her with strength, mobility and stretching exercises. read more
