This barbershop never fails, they always have room for walk-ins. Every time I've gone I've never left disappointed. Highly recommend!

Although I'm satisfied with my own cut, I was frustrated with the wait times caused by some of the main barbers spending time on their phones while cutting customer hairs. During my own cut, the barber took longer than 5 minutes using his cellphone. It's unprofessional and disrespectful to the customers. The workers also took their time in between haircuts in the back of the store while multiple customers waited. The pricing is quite high for the lack of service. Updating this two days later to add a photo of the razor bumps on my neck. My skin never gets this irritated after a shave -- especially when I go to a barber. read more

For those that don't know the history of how this barbershop (Evolved) let's recap a little shall we? 9 months ago this barbershop was in the corner of Pico Blvd and Catalina and it was known as "Four Stars Barbershop". Unfortunately, the location burned down because of a sudden electrical malfunction. However, the owner (Jairo) decided to relocate the location. Now, after 9 months of devastation it has transformed itself to what we know as "Evolution". I've been cutting my hair with Jairo since 2009. Four Stars barbershop was always known for the best barbers in the (Mid-city/Korea Town). This shop was more than just a place to get a hair-cut. After a while your barber becomes your family; a place to escape from reality and relax. Expect beverages, wifi, outlets, but most importantly exceptional service! Evolution still provides all those amenities, if not more. Parking is available behind the building. I recommend making an appointment two days in advance because it gets overwhelming during the weekends. read more

Best barbershop in town. I've been going to Korean Salons because they were the only ones that knew how to cut this Koreano's hair. Until, I came here and met my barber, Erick or Ernie (on the weekends ) - he's got skill with clippers and scissors. Always polite and professional, much like the rest of the staff here. Jairo the owner is super welcoming and the place has a bunch of TV's to watch sports. You're not going to get the gimmicky, fake nice, bougie, champagne service or pink fluffy couches...you'll get in, get a great cut, and be out. Efficient. Also, if you bring a friend, or it's your birthday, you get free gel or pomade. Dope! read more

Hyro at evolution is the best barber around this part of town. The fade and line up, will have the hynas calling you 'PAPI'.

Jairo, ha sido mi barbero por años ya, nunca ha fallado muy amigable y a tiempo como siempre, todos los barberos son muy buenos, nunca cambiaría esta barbería. read more

This will be a brief bulleted review so definitely expand. 1. Horrible customer service 2. So called lead barber near the door is a terrible liar and will pick and choose who he cuts, regardless of others waiting. 3. Understaffed 2 barbers in a shop with 8 to 9 chair? 4. Unprofessional demeanor I have been here on several occasions and have never actually had a good visit. This is the first time I am writing a review due to the barber literally lying to my face about another customer having a spot in front of me; finding parking is not a viable reason for skipping a customer that was already waiting 15 minutes. read more

We followed our favorite barber Andy Chung here to get my husband's haircut. When in LA we go see Andy who happens to be settling until the groove of things here at Evolution. The shop is very clean and spacious and everyone was very friendly. For those waiting, they have a flat screen playing movies to keep you busy. Andy hasn't changed and his professional demeanor is always nice and unassuming. He listens to what you are looking for and also gives suggestions on what cuts to try. With his expertise, you can trust him to let you leave the place looking fresh! I always trust him to do a great job on my husband's hair. Logistical info: This place can be seen right off of Vermont and cross street of Washington blvd and conveniently located off of the 10 freeway in Ktown. Parking is available in the back of the building but you must enter from Washington Blvd. We were able to find parking with no problem even though other stores share the lot. read more

Extremely unprofessional, I called and spoke with Juan and made an appointment for my son with Manny. This was an important appointment because my son had School picture day the next day so we wanted his cut extra fresh. When we got to the shop at my appointment time it was closed. I called and they answered, when I told them I had an appointment they said please hold and then HUNG UP! I called back 3 times and no answer. They totally let us down. Went around looking for a barbershop and all were closed or booked. They're completely unreliable and screwed us BIG TIME!! read more

I have been getting my haircut done by Jairo for 8 years now since he had the barbershop at a different location. He opened this new location 3 years ago. It's a super modern and ample location. I have to say that Jairo is the best barber I have ever had and I am going to stick with him for as long as I can. I have also gotten my hair cut by all the barbers at the shop and they are all amazing!!! All in all, I could not recommend this barbershop enough. All the barbers are great, you will not be disappointed. Go and try them out, they have the grratest customer service! read more

Jairo takes care of business!! Great barber. Give him a visit, you won't regret it...

I love Evolution Barbershop. After Jairo's previous location closed down (Four Star Barbers on Catalina), I decided to find a new place that was closer to either my new apartment or my work. I spent over a year bouncing from place to place never quite happy with the vibe, the price, and especially the cut. Then one day I was fed up and I was determined to find Jairo again and I am glad I did. Evolution Barber Shop has delivered the best haircuts and shaves at really good prices. The barbers are super chill and the whole place has a welcoming vibe. They are a positive force on the community and I truly appreciate the hard work and artistry of all the staff. Even though I have to do a bit of a commute to make it there, I'm glad to be back. read more

I've been to this barber shop 4-5 times for emergency cuts throughout 2 years and every time it has disappointed me. Every time the fade is okay but they always mess up the hairline. I don't recommend going to this barbershop if you care about your hairline. read more

I've been coming here for almost a year now and the service is always great. I personally get my haircuts with Danny and trust me he does his job very well. Every time I come I'm not worried about having a bad haircut. I recommend you go to him. read more

It's a good barbershop but I personally prefer that if you make an appointment with someone you should honor it. I've came here several times and I understand that they are quite popular but come on. If I make an appointment and I get here on time don't make me wait an additional 40 minutes. That's plain unprofessional and rude. If not I would definitely would give a all star review. This is not the first time this has happened it's has occurred several other times. read more

This place is amazing! Been bringing my brother to this Barber shop for quite some time & they never disappoint. Their work is great (every single barber). The wait is never long (if you're a walk-in & you don't have an appointment) & everyone is super friendly & welcoming. They will ALWAYS look for a way to fit you in even if they're busy & booked. I've never had a bad experience here. *plus the place is modern, super clean & there's parking in the back* read more

Evolution Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Not worth going for the price that they charge, i would expect this place to be more organized and more professional for the amount of money they charge. Barber shops are a dime a dozen your one small fish in a ocean full of bigger and better fish. Don't believe the hype. read more

Let me start off with saying this barber shop is one the most underrated barber shops in LA. Their shop is super clean with excellent barbers and customer service. The environment feels like a one of a kind. The reason why I would rate this shop 4 starts out of 5 would be because of their wait time as a walk in. If you don't have a appointment, chances are your going to be waiting up to 2 hours. So make sure to call and make an appointment. If you decide to check them out I would recommend get a cut by manny. read more

Evolution Barber Shop - Sal left me looking CRISPY. Would highly recommend - Barbers Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Parking on the weekends is inconvenient but you might get lucky and find the spot next to the shitty tagged up dumpsters. I had an appointment for 2:30. I'm in the parking at 1:50 and call Jairo to let him know that I've arrived and will be in the parking lot smoking weed. He tells me to not worry and to go in at 2:30. I go in at 2:20 and wait until 2:40 when he's done with the person in the chair. As soon as he's done a dude shows up and Jairo sits him to the chair. I'm like "yo Jairo I thought I was next?" He replies "oh this is the 2nd hair cut I had that I told you about." I reply "so the appointments don't mean anything?" and he says that he tries to keep all his appointments. I ask him if one hair cuts takes him 50 minutes since I did show up at 1:50. He got offended and kicked me out. Waste of time really. So if you wanna go and wait up to an hour after your appointment this is the perfect place. A lot of these reviews are fake and likely paid by Jairo. Maybe that's what you have to do to keep your appointment, lie and give a fake positive review to skip people who have been waiting. read more

Great, professional environment. You're in and out EVERYTIME with what you expected. So glad I ran into Jairo and this gem or a barbershop. I'll never go anywhere else as long as I live in mid city. read more

Had a good haircut by Jackie. She was a good Barber, did a great low fade. Would recommend this barbershop. One of the larger spots and focuses on quality even using the razor blade to trim the edges. I didn't have much of a wait at 3pm. They were friendly and took credit cards. read more

I went to this barber shop just for a trim. I got my haircut under 10 minutes just to get charged $35. Just for a trim nothing major.
