Never had a worse experience at a repair shop in nearly 30 years.
Although they state on the top of their invoice there is a 24 month or 24,000 mile warranty & also reiterated this at the time of service don't expect to have them stand by it without additional hidden costs popping up when you pick up your vehicle.
November 22, 2022 I had my entire evap system replaced after they diagnosed a service engine light code.
I originally took it in to have the code read and was told by the owner when making the appointment it would be an hour wait. Then when bringing it in for my scheduled appointment I was told I'd have to leave it there all day by the receptionist. I explained it was an appointment for an hour only and she said they don't make appointments you just have to leave it all day and proceeded to get belligerent and was raising her voice to the point I had to ask for a manager. I ended up waiting because I had to go I was given an estimate for $887.
I took it in for the $887 worth repairs then several hours later got a call and was told that if I replaced an additional part my entire evap system would be new and nothing else would need to be done it would all function like new. The new total was $989 which I authorized & paid.
Not even 6 months later the same code popped up and my evap system stopped working.
I was told that they would try to reroute a hose so less dust got in the system and it was a warranty repair. No estimate or discussion of additional charges was ever given.
I again left the vehicle and after having to wait 9.5 hours to get my car back for a repair that only took an hour I was told when I picked it up that I owed another $130.
I was completely taken aback. I was told this system was warrantied. No additional charges were ever disclosed, discussed or authorized related to this work.
When I addressed - 1) it was supposed to be covered under warranty 2) I replaced the entire system less than 6 months ago and was assured there would be no further problems and 3) there was never any estimate or mention of additional costs I would have to incur the owner then threatened to tell the mechanic to go take it off my car.
That was her solution. Not to apologize for their hidden costs, lack providing an estimate to their client or overall lack of communication regarding any charges associated with warranty work.
Instead she repeatedly threatened to have the mechanic take it off my car and at one point even refused to take my credit card again saying she'd tell the mechanic to take it off. That because she said they needed to move a hose they assumed I was fine with any new charges.
I know it's a small town so options are limited for complicated repairs, but how a business can treat their paying clients with so little respect, fail to communicate about charges in advance, then threaten to undo the repairs and still get business is beyond me.
This is a complete disgrace to auto shops out there who are above board and provide excellent communication, customer service and honor their work. read more
