EV Charger Expert proposed installing a smart plug that would monitor demand, and should demand overtax the existing service, throttle back demand from the car charger. That cost $1550 plus a $600 smart plug. The work was done quickly and it worked for Night One. I'm happy.

I also had them install the Emporia Vue Energy monitor inside my panel. As I had a combo panel, Kirill immediately recommended that I purchase a pair of 200A Flexible Sensors from Emporia to replace the sensors that came with the Vue, as the provided sensors would not work in my panel. That gave me a lot of confidence that they knew the Emporia products and were very experienced installers. Kirill and Erin were highly responsive from the first estimate through scheduling: quick to answer questions and easy to reach whenever I needed an update. Customer service was great throughout: professional, straightforward, and clearly experienced with EV charger installs specifically, not just general electrical work. The install itself was on our gate about 12 feet from the main panel, and Erin's attention to detail really showed: clean wiring, a tidy install, everything weatherproofed properly and great to work with. They also handled pulling the city permit. Kirill came right on time, met the city inspector, and we had a permit without any problems. Pricing was fair and a great value for the quality of work, no surprises, no shortcuts, done right the first time. Highly recommend if you're looking for an EV charger install: professional, responsive, and the work speaks for itself.

I have to shop at three different ethnic stores in the South Bay to find what I need here all in one stop. Please bring a Berkeley Bowl to the South Bay! I know it's wishful thinking. I told my daughters today we will make two monthly trips for groceries here and nearby Three Stone Hearth.

Because I've finally had it with the lackluster, tired attitude of most of the staff who work here. WHAT'S HAPPENING, Berkeley Bowl West Management? Why aren't your employees happier? There is a huge difference between your workers (particularly the checkers) and the checkers at Trader Joe's, as one example. The latter are usually pleasant, friendly, cheerful and seem to enjoy their jobs for the most part. Everyone has an off day once in a while, but every time I shop here, the checkers seem to be anxious for their next break. There is a crack in your foundation. It's also a drag to so often have overcharges that would go unnoticed by me if I had not taken a receipt. I can't recall a time I was UNDER charged, but overcharges happen often. I love, love, love that you do not play music in your store. My sensitive nature thanks you, very much.

The EVgo App shows an unnamed level 2 charger that has been offline basically forever, plus two 50 kW chargers, one of which (HOLLY) has also been offline basically forever. The charger that does work -- OSCAR -- has a single CCS Combo cable that's typically occupied nonstop as well as a CHAdeMO cable that would be of no help to me (and is usually occupied anyway). More generally, at least half of the chargers at any EVgo location seem to be offline at any given time. For example, consider the current situation at El Cerrito Del Norte Plaza: OKSSANNA has an offline left side cable and currently a working unoccupied right side cable (yay!) FREDDIE and KAMAL are both offline LIZ and MONTY are both online and busy Thus there are five chargers (with ten cables), 2 1/2 of which are offline. Four of the five working cables are busy. If I were traveling somewhere and wanted to plan a stop along I-80, I'd be reluctant to choose any EVgo locations in the East Bay: it's not fun to have to wait for a charge in the middle of a trip.
