Came to Whole Foods mainly for their bakery--it's been a long time since I last came here. When I…read moredo visit, I usually get their English-style scones for afternoon tea with my friend and desserts for birthdays. I really like their tiramisu and actually came by just yesterday for their Tiramisù Friday deal. My friend loves it too, so I'm getting it again this time for her birthday. They also have frozen, ready-to-bake croissants and other pastries, which is pretty nice. I personally prefer freshly baked goods instead of just reheated ones. I didn't take any pictures, but I did check out the produce section and they have a great selection of organic vegetables with really good quality. I also like their Amazon return service--very efficient and quick. Whole Foods is definitely on the pricier side, so I don't come here often, but they do offer a nice selection with solid quality overall.

I always have a pleasant experience shopping at the Whole Foods in Coddingtown Mall…read more I went in recently, specifically looking for the Mommenpop blood orange aperitif and spritz. They have both!!! And they have two other flavors of the spritz. Their wine and spirits section is well-stocked with lots of great local options. The employee working in that section stopped his conversation with another employee to guide me to both options. He told me about his favorite drink made with those drinks, which are made in Napa. And we chatted about the non-alcoholic options that WF stocks. I continued on my way to grab other groceries. Found organic produce, Del Real dates (the best! And the only dates I'll buy), and Perfect Bars. I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Oliver's is an employee owner chain that offers a lot of locally sourced produce, cheese, wines,…read morebaked goods. They offer a 10% Senior discount on Wednesdays and have a weekly ad plus specials that last for 3 months. They have an assortment of prepared food plus a deli, fish and meat counter. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They also have a large selection of vitamins, healthy alternatives for healing, etc. There is a large parking lot but it is usually pretty crowded on Wednesdays.

Here is a funny, tongue-in-cheek Yelp review for Oliver's Market (Montecito). I've incorporated the…read morespecific details you mentioned, plus a few "insider" positives (like the meat counter and local goods) This place is basically the clown car of grocery stores: tiny on the outside, but somehow contains an infinite universe of high-end cheese and local produce on the inside. The Good: If you need an obscure local goat cheese, a loaf of bread that sings to your soul, or produce that looks like it was polished by fairies, this is your spot. The prepared foods and hot bar are dangerous--I went in for milk and came out with a three-course dinner and a mortgage on a brisket. Also, the meat and seafood counter? Legitimately awesome. It's clean, well-stocked, and feels like a true neighborhood gem. The "Eh": Ah, the service. Classic Oliver's. It's that special brand of "meh" where they aren't mean, they're just... profoundly unbothered by your existence. They are employee-owners, which I guess means they own the right to not make eye contact. The Battle: Parking is technically "decent," which is code for "fine at 10 AM on a Tuesday, but a reenactment of Mad Max at 5 PM." The lot fills up faster than my cart in the wine aisle. Verdict: I will continue to fight for a parking spot and accept the indifferent service because the bread and cheese are just that good.

A good store but on the smaller side. Staff is friendly but not bubbly per se. Store carries most…read moreof the things I need week-to-week and the prices vary between a great deal (especially if sales) and very high, totally depends on the item and the week. But that's true at the "big" WF over at Coddingtown Mall, too. You have to be familiar with the item and other stores to know if that's a great deal or not. I appreciate how much the produce department carries, especially, as that's most of my shopping list. I remember back when the store used to be "Food for Thought" in the late 90s which was also a nice little shop. Happy New Year everyone. Cheers

Coddingtown Whole Foods has gone from sizzle to fizzle. This store used to be my "go to" market…read morefor top notch everything and whatever else I needed that nody else had--except for dried/fresh Chervil. Over the past five months this store has junt gone into a nosedive in almost every way possible. The quality of the produce is second rate--if you can find it. The fresh raspberries typically ooze and in a few cases mold was already growing inside the berry. The dried, refrigerated/frozen or fresh are very poorly stocked/arranged, with huge gaps in presentation requiring a reach clear to the back of the shelf. The self-serve soup/salad bar no longer has the eye appeal and the product is not refreshed throughout the day while the ready to eat prepared entrees/vegetables/salads in the refrigerated deli and served by staff is sparse and very unappealing to the eye. "I'm not taking that home" was my impression five months ago and it was true today. The bakery was also my go-to for beautiful and unusual desserts. Not any more. Once I purchased Chantilly cream puffs, the product was too high for the containers, and resulted in whipped cream in the bottom of the container rather than between the pastry shell. This isn't a cheap store. It seems that the store is quite understaffed. The only reason I will go back to this store is to drop off an Amazon return. This isn't the only "best grocer" in the 'hood.b
