Very recently opened on the former site of a cinema(that closed in the late 60's I believe).
If you know the Everyman group then you already have an idea of how it operates. Luxury is the name of their game, however I think they have missed the mark, a little bit.
Upon entry it has a very polished retro feel, plus furniture in the lobby area, multiple seating areas, the bar is well proportioned in relation to the space.
I'm sure some people may actually go there just to sit have a drink and catch up!!
I think there are 4 screens and the film I went to see was in screen 4, which is upstairs. Ordering the food and drink was nice and simple, apart from no sweet popcorn at the upstairs bar!! So had to go back downstairs to get popcorn but they did bring it up form me.
Staff were helpful and professional, the seats in the actual cinema were comfortable, I'm sure they will feel less stiff as they get more bums on seats!!
Now at the beginning of this I said they have missed the mark 'a little bit'. I say this as with all Everyman cinemas they bring food and drink to you, if that's what you request, this is where they missed the mark. They, in my opinion, didn't leave enough walkway space between the seats so when people are walking past to get to their seats it's very 'snug'. So when staff bring food and drinks it's a bit of a trial. Hence only 4 stars from me.
That aside if you've never been to an Everyman. It is an experience but remember this isn't Vue or Oden and that is reflected in the price of tickets food etc etc.
Worthwhile going as a treat to yourself or someone special in your life. read more
