Preliminary review - Ive been "watching this space" since Firefly closed a while back. Hopeful it would be another cupcake place, but not at all sure what was coming. The sign "Everyday Gourmet" has been up for a while, but it was not open yet. Then I drove by the other day and saw it was open. Stopped in today first chance I had, to check it out. Cute cute cute space. They have it displayed nicely. A few tables in the front as well. They had perhaps 10 cupcakes ($2.85 each) on display today, and some other shortbread and related treats. I talked for a few minutes to the owner (I believe), who said they have their original location in Niagara Falls. They do a lot of catering I understand. Always good to know. While they have a rotation of perhaps 40 cupcakes, we tried the white cake with chocolate chips and buttercream frosting (forgot the name) and the peanut butter banana one. Both were well received. These cupcakes are not huge. They are a good size and have a reasonable amount of frosting. Personally I liked they way they flowed together. A sample of the shortbread left me wanting more. I'll be back soon for some other treats. Located just down from Ashkers, parking is street, traffic flow easy. Ill update after more visits. But I want everyone to know this place is open and to stop by and give them a try. read more

At this location is the EVERYDAY GOURMET BAKERY CAFE Everyday Gourmet bakes delicious custom cut-out cookies, gourmet cupcakes, and an array of mini desserts. After having a foot long hot dog and cheese-fries at Sullivan's, and sitting on the deck we adventured across the street to this new establishment that opened at the end of July 2013. We were greeted by rows and rows of custom cupcakes. I was in heaven but unfortunately I let my wife choose for us. :) She made an excellent choice though, the Pina Colada Cupcake. It was so good and fresh and good. Now I wish I had gotten my own all to myself. I also noticed delicious looking brownies and other sweet delicacies. There is also a wide range of hot and cold drinks. The owner was there to serve and was very friendly and helpful. After speaking to her we learned that Everyday Gourmet is also a full service catering business available for both private and corporate catering and has been in operation for many years. The business card she gave us stated that their service includes custom menu planning, delivery, set-up, and break-down for your event. We will be back! read more

I'm always on the lookout for a good cupcake so stopped in today to give theirs a try. I'm so glad I did. FINALLY, a lemon cupcake that actually tastes like Lemon! I was a little worried when I first took it out of the box as it was quite heavy for the size. I am going to chalk the weight up to the mound of icing on top, coupled with the lemon curd filling. The cake was light and moist and had wonderful, tangy lemon flavor. The filling was also nice and tangy and the icing sweetly balanced the whole thing out. My daughter had the Jelly donut cupcake which was also very good and flavorful. We have not yet tried the others that we bought (Chocolate with Salted Carmel icing, Pumpkin Spice, S'mores, and Canoli) but if the two we did eat are any indication, we're in for a treat! LOOK NO FURTHER!!! We can't begin to say what a wonderful and professional job that Cheryl and her crew did for our wedding. Not only did she go WAY outside of the box to accommodate our eccentric and ethnic preferences, she did it with finesse and flavors that knocked everyone's socks off! It was as though she had been making each dish as her specialty or signature for years. We had 210 guests, and not only did we not come close to running out of food, Cheryl made our cocktail party look like a sit down dinner! Our venue was the USS Little Rock which added multiple challenges to every vendor. Cheryl and her crew took each one in stride and overcame every obstacle thrown her way. She even attempted crème brulee, TORCHED ON THE SPOT, as one of the desserts. It was GLORIOUS! Keeping my wife calm is easy...me....not so much. Cheryl managed, even this, like a pro. She spent every second making every detail perfect with a huge smile and unwavering focus. Again, the food....superb! The attitude...positive, upbeat and professional. I would never again consider another caterer for even a small affair as I know Cheryl to be capable of ANYTHING! It is absolutely impossible to be disappointed here. Absolutely incredible from start to finish. The order greeted me as I walked in and I was immediately overwhelmed by how gorgeous the cupcakes in the display were - so she walked me through each type and gave great suggestions I had come in looking for 4 to bring to a dinner later that day and left with a dozen. This is how the favorites worked out - my mom liked the Lemon Cupcake (Filled with Fresh Lemon Curd) my boyfriend liked the Cheesecake Cupcake (with fresh strawberries) and I believe my dad liked the double chocolate cupcake (whichever has the pretzel on top). We all commented on how good the cakes were but it was the frosting on each of them that was life altering. I've heard great things about their catering too but I haven't had a chance to try that yet all I can say is that you have to try their cupcakes! read more

We just had an outside rep use this caterer for a lunch presentation at our office. The food was amazing. They display/layout on the table (which they setup and take down) looked better than most high end weddings I've ever been to. We're talking linens, nice serving dishes / platters, centerpieces, etc. While I can't speak personally about the price - the reps said they found it just as reasonable as some of the high end 'pickup yourself' sandwich places - which I would have never expected based on this high quality and presentation of the food. read more
