After Dr. Boone x-rayed my knee, he determined that the swelling was due to the uneven wear of the original plastic spacer, in my knee which he indicated needed to be replaced. Dr. recommended that a MRI be performed so he could "study" what the best options were. After Dr. Boone presented the options, he recommended that the plastic spacer in the original knee replacement be surgically removed and replaced as well as the removal of 3 cysts around the knee joint. The surgery performed required opening up my knee just like in the original knee placement procedure to have access to the knee prosthesis and the plastic spacer. The surgery results were excellent. Ten (10) days after the surgery, I was able to return to my Bike Spinning Classes. Dr. Boone is an outstanding Orthopedic Surgeon. I give him my highest recommendation. Lynn Caldwell 12/2017

I am reminded at nearly every moment of the day STILL that I had a hip replacement. He claimed my replacement was such a perfect fit that it appeared to be "made for me" exactly. He sent me down the referral gauntlet, I've had countless injections, my liver is now in crisis from the medications I have taken to try to relieve my pain, no Drs will touch his work because "he's the best of the best," it has literally been one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I'd gone for the hip replacement because I had dysplasia, lots of arthritis, and it was locking up on me trying to carry my infant daughter down the stairs and I was terrified I'd fall with her. I had gotten the surgery hoping I'd be able to be a more active mother, but it had the opposite effect. It has taken such a toll on my mental, emotional and physical health. He only looked at an xray and spent 10 minutes with me at my consult before he decided I was "a perfect candidate for a Total Hip Replacement." I trusted him because of his reputation. With the research I've done since, I believe he should have NEVER considered putting my body through the procedure considering I was breastfeeding (up until I was wheeled to the Operating Room) AND the fact that women's bodies, especially the hip area need time to recover from Childbirth...the ligaments and structure need time to heal. I believe this is malpractice, greed and carelessness on Dr. Boone's part. I caution anyone, especially women from letting him or his robot operate on you. I think I was one of 7 robotic replacements he performed that day. It took me 3 days to leave the hospital and I was in incredible pain.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Adams. I had a very bad ski injury at Whistler in late 2013 season and was sent to ER at Whistler. Doctors in Whistler (who are sports medicine experts) thought I had a MCL sprain and send me home for rest. After 3 weeks my symptom didn't get better but a tidy worsen. My knee wobbled a lot and I can't barely walk without supportive bandages or bracers. So my family doctor sent me to physical therapy which helped a lot after only 3 weeks of rehab. I could walk normal again and even start running and do some yoga. But I still have pain-restrained movement. So Craig Carson, my wonderful therapist, recommend me to see Dr. Adams. The reason being Dr. Adams is not a surgeon so he won't suggest unnecessary surgery. Dr. Adams' office has moved to Evergreen in Kirkland. He and his crew really pay attention to detail. You will see his assistant first, who will ask all kinds of question, and repeat again with Dr. Adams. His assistant will be there taking notes for him. After spending a lot of time doing tests to identify my problem, Dr. Adams decided to send me for MRI, and found that I actually had a 2nd degree ACL torn (instead of MCL). The first thing he said was "No surgery is needed!" with a big smile on his face because he knew how much I was worried. He then explained the diagnosis thoroughly with the knee model, followed by going over the MRI images with me. He did some further test/diagnosis by rotation my knee and suggested me to continue on physical therapy. He answered my 10 million questions with patient! In the end of my visit he will send reports to my physical therapist and family doctor for updates. If you have any sport related injury especially knee and ankle, I strong recommend seeing Dr. Adams.

I spent way too money at a chiropractic's office (which didn't help) before I decided to call my insurance for recommendations. Dr. Adams took x-rays, sent me for a MRI, gave me a comprehensive exam and found that I had a torn labrum. He gave me practical advice, took the time to explain my injury, took very detailed notes and referred me to a physical therapist for treatment. Keem told me my artificial disc migrated - in actuality, a team of Virginia Mason neurosurgeons investigated, and found the disc was installed in the wrong place (which took a while to diagnose, as Keem refused to release intra-operative imaging for close to a year). Entire steps of my surgery were skipped. And he lied to my face about it - and to the Polyclinic ... just before mysteriously leaving his cushy position as their sole spinal surgeon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Keem is a lazy, incompetent butcher. I still experience daily pain and take daily pain medications after what he did to me as a young athlete. He mysteriously vanished from the Polyclinic after multiple government investigations of my surgery, including a winning ruling by the Washington state AG's office because Keem was double-paid by both me and my insurance, and his office said I'd have to sue him directly to be reimbursed. He's corrupt, and a liar. After some time floating around, it appears he's been hired by Swedish. They should be ashamed of themselves - I reached out directly to share the results of my surgery. Clearly, Swedish doesn't care about the longevity of their patients, or keeping them safe, functional, and pain-free. Keep in mind that this man has a long and extensive history of "complicated" surgeries, as well as kickbacks into the millions from the manufacturer of the only artificial disc he installs. (They also cover fusion equipment, etc.) I could find no other surgeon who only uses equipment from one company ... let alone ones paid by them on the side. More corruption to the absolute core. More coming. I have other reviews for him in my profile, including one in which I caught him leaving himself a fake positive review. Don't be fooled by this slimy, unctuous guy who has a long history of leaving his patients immediately post-op to go get paid by Medtronic while they suffer through permanent and life-changing complications. Expect a PA to see you for your first post-op appointment (dangerous and insidious scope creep, going against all advice of the American Medical Association), and expect them to misread your imaging and gaslight you about your pain because they have no idea what they're talking about. This is an established pattern of Keem's. If Keem has 5,000 haters, I'm one of them. If Keem has 1 hater, it's me. If Keem has 0 haters, it's because his rotten surgery finally killed me Lmaoooo. I definitely got a bit beat up on the job…read more Over the last two years I have had severe back pain and atrophy in my right leg, with numbness all the way to my foot and into my groin. I was told by an anesthesiologist treating me nerves in my lower back are being compressed. He did not say how. I have done PT, yoga and injections to no avail. I don't smoke, I am not overweight and I am in good shape otherwise. That said, my condition has progressively worsened. I was referred to Dr. Hoekema by the doctor who gave me injections in my back. As it turns out, Hoekema does not see people until he sees an MRI, even with a doctor's referral. I sent him the MRI I had just gotten. After waiting weeks, my Primary Care Physician contacted me and told me Hoekema would not see me because he did not think he could do anything for me. I got no consultation, no physical eval and most importantly...no explanation of what exactly is going on with my back and what to expect as I move forward. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to back issue back issues. I have been to three orthopedic surgeons over the years. They each examined me, reviewed MRIs with me, told me what the mechanical issues were and gave me their diagnosis and recommendations. Two times I avoided surgery and one I did not. Reviews of Hoekema make it seem like he is a bit of a jerk. Heck....the doctor who referred me implied he was. My experience (or lack thereof) with the good doctor does not do anything to contradict that. Frankly, someone needs to remind the good doctor he exists to care for patients. Shame on Peace Health for taking "care" out of Healthcare and thank you UW Med for giving me an appointment with a surgeon in a timely manner. Maybe I don't need surgery....maybe I do, but I expect the doctor there will tell me what exactly is going on with my back and recommend a path forward instead of just blowing me off.
