Boards were okay, but again the caps were inferior, and after getting the highly annoying 'bing-bong' security camera warning about 4 times for my highly suspicious act of walking down an isle, I left happily empty handed. Mr. Plywood is a bit far from home, but I decided to venture there anyway. WHAT a difference! The boards I found are far superior in quality, and EXACTLY the same price as the big box stores. The post caps were the brand I was looking for, and $4.00 less per cap than I found them on line. When buying multiples, that $4.00 difference adds up fast! The service was friendly, personal, and they know their stuff. Without so much as one 'bing-bong' warning with a security camera staring at my face, I got what I needed at a reasonable price quickly and efficiently. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Plywood. Neither of us write reviews very often, but this job was such a huge success so we needed to give them props. We are just going to list off what we liked... 1. Our kitchen is larger than a standard kitchen where all the other shops quoted needing 2 slabs to get the job done. Budget was the only shop that recommended using a Jumbo slab for our kitchen which saved us $$. 2. All we had to do is text Ian a picture of our kitchen layout to get a quote. We had a quote that same day. 3. Phone conversations were great! We had some questions about the edges and the free kitchen sink size (30" vs 32") they were including and they were responsive. 4. Easy process to get the ball rolling. All we had to do to get job going was put down 50% of the cost to have measurements done the following week, then they were out installing the countertops 2 weeks after that. 5. They showed up to install when they said they would. We were told installers would show up between 8-9am and they arrived at 8:15am and were done with our install about 4 hours later. 6. Cleanliness was exceptional - they even put cloth down to protect our flooring. 7. Our experience was so great and have been telling our friends about them if they ever need new countertops. 8. It is in decent shape, but we wanted to do a lot of work to turn it into our dream house. Rob has been our go-to man throughout this extensive process, and we can't imagine having done it without him. In fact, without him, I don't think it could have gotten done, or rather it would have been MUCH harder (me having to find people for each job), and slower. Rob can do everything. He has replaced every door in our house, all door knobs, hinges and other hardware, all lighting fixtures. He has updated the closets and replaced closet doors. He has replaced our front door and the entire frame. He took out and then covered over this weird door that made no sense and that I wanted to simply be a wall. We want to renovate both bathrooms, and he will do this, and I know he will complete them in a timely manor and that his work will be excellent. He will also be installing a hot tub for us. As I write this, Rob is replacing a rotten stretch of fencing in our backyard and a gardening shed that is attached to the fence. Oh, and how can I forget the most significant project he did for us? He created a custom floor to ceiling bookshelf that spans the entire wall of our living room, and it is beautiful. Rob is professional, skilled, honest, and responsive (he returns phone calls quickly!!!!), and his work is excellent. (As I said, our house is 100 years old, so it's full of irregularities, and Rob has mastered all of them to create exactly what we wanted.) Rob can do everything. His knowledge and skills are vast.
