After i finished eating, a family of people came by to do a BBQ graduation party there. 20 people can sit comfortably there. All you see is mostly families. People walking theie dogs, riding the bikes. There were kids on mini scooter. It has been tough during this pandemic of 2020. There was a little girl, she must have been about 6 years old, on her scooter saaying to her friend. "This is the best day ever". This should remind us how important these parks are to the inner city. There plenty of benches and almost all of them had someone sitting, reading or dozing off. The path which encircles the park on the inside has plenty of room for soneone to ride their bike while walking with 2 or 3 other people next to them. A few people had their Bluetooth speakers playing music. They were not playing too loud. The day was peaceful and tranquil. Another group of people came towards the North entrance and started another BBQ. The North entrance also faces the Saratoga Village NYC housing. The ark is not perfectly designed, it does need updating. Grass seeds need to be planted in many areas. However it was a nice place to be for a change. It was truly a nice day in the park.

Great place to jog, run, sit on a bench, take the kids to the park for a little bit, play chess (there are chest tables) or walk the dog on a leash. ASPCA hosts events there for pet health. Be cautious sometimes people let their dogs off their leash to run in the field... Some dogs are cool, but some owners can be irresponsible / too trusting. You will see many families, people exercising, and doing yoga. There are two playgrounds and many other game areas as well as bathrooms. I walk here to use the walking and jogging path, as well as sit down afterwards and admire the trees and the view West of midtown. There are also benches specifically for doing sit-ups and pull-ups. Unlike many of the parks in the city, you will not see homeless people here or drug addicts. There is quite a bit of litter on the ground which is sad, since there are so many garbage cans in the vicinity. However, I am so happy to have found this park near my residence.

There are trees, slopes, benches and all the other usuals in adequate abundance. I was worried that since it is near a high school it would become crowded and loud, but not so. This park has come a long way since I was younger. The plus is that people who are moving into the…read moreneighborhood are the lucky ones because they get all the benefits of the new 2010 - 2012 renovations and the in progress renovations. In the 80s and 90s the front of the park was the area where all the drunks and druggies use to hang out. Not anymore those days are over. If you see pictures of this park from the 80s to now you wouldn't believe your eyes. There is a baseball field with fake grass, handball/ basketball courts, Bathrooms(winter 2012), swings for the older kids/adults and swings for small children, dog run and a garden that Alex runs, multiple water fountains, and spray showers. There are some days that you cannot play in the field because the local high school has permits for the field. This was never the case until that school moved into town. The field used to have no grass on it and it was a little torn up but no one complained. I feel as if this park got fixed only because of the yuppies and the new building that was put up called onemurrypark. It's really sad that these changes didn't happen for the locals. The plus side is that no one has to try and work there way into the surrounding stores to try and go to the bathroom. I remember throughout the years people would have to go around the corner to my house just to go. Either way this park will always hold 5 stars because I lived here my whole life. Granted when you walk around the area you tend to not know anyone but at least the rich people moving into the area are nice because they see you as a potential babysitter. I recommend checking out the sculpture that is currently inside the dog run this piece is called "Bigger Bird".But check it out before it's too late because I read that there were plans that they were going to take it away since the dog run ruined it. Also now this park has traffic lights on every corner something the locals tried to get back in the day that suddenly sprung up as soon as the yuppies moved in, so that's a plus even though we are no longer children and can cross the street with no issue. This park is really big (2.524 Acres) and it is something that you should check out. Your kids will love it!

The park's grounds keepers keep the entire park area spotless. There's a fitness section with actual gym equipment for public use and of course there's a play area for the kiddies-with all of the standards like a sliding board, swings etc. Linden Park has a tennis court, bleachers and benches where you can sit and catch your breath, stretch or people watch. An added bonus is the Soca fitness class. It's a free workout given by a wonderful gentleman named Paul. He sets up his speaker, plays old school Soca tunes and holds classes every Mon-Sat. He begins at promptly 9am and each class is an hour long. It's all free of charge but donations are accepted and appreciated. Mr. Paul is only there when the weather is nice so be sure to come out before the chilly weather sets in. Linden Park is tops in my book.

DiMattina Dog Park is a dog park actually as one of the pictures show. It is south of the…read morechildren's playground, and the entrance is on Hick's Street. Although the park was renovated and reopened last year the community members involved agree that it could have been better. Pros- Small dog run now available, good amount of benches for seating, lovely trees to provide shade, some nice landscaping attempted, two locations for hoses with working water, majority of owners are responsible and there are many regulars, lighted at night although treed areas still dark of course, parents may find it convenient to bring dog to play while watching baseball or softball game going on in adjacent field (although should pay more attention to their dog if staying in the run). Cons - Dog walkers and irresponsible people let/put their dogs into the tree and landscaping enclosures and some areas have been destroyed, the stone chosen is very dusty and dissolved into dust in many spots so dogs get very dusty/dirty which is worsened in warm months by the hose areas which some people leave running after use creating giant mud puddles, trees near entrance drop berries in late Spring/early Summer and many dogs spend the whole time eating the berries and get stained with berry juice when playing, small dogs beware the benches as they are made with a wide gap between the first two slats and legs often get stuck with potential to injure, digging has created multiple areas with holes that have been filled in or not, creating tripping hazards, under benches is not concrete so dogs have taken to digging holes that never get filled in and thus invite more dogs to dig, doggy pool with drain hole which may be a pro if you like to let your dog cool off in water but it tends to stay very dirty and dogs will always drink from it-it's very heavy material even empty so difficult to clean out regularly and many dogs regularly jump in during games of chase and jump out soaking wet so soon all dogs at play are soaking wet and muddy even if they didn't go near the pool. We'll keep going here because it really is fairly nice for the options in the area and the regulars are nice people. I just wanted to be detailed for the sake of the review. FYI- although there is now a "small dog side" most people still use the original (large dog) side for all sizes. It's more of an unspoken rule that if someone has a dog that should not be around other dogs, they go into the empty small-dog side and toss a ball or otherwise exercise their dog. Unfortunately, some people do not bother to do this and our own dog has been attacked by a ball aggressive dog.
