We are very pleased with the landscaping projects Evergreen Landscaping, with Israel Arzate did for us! We had multiple projects with him, that we had started around July 2024, that consisted of landscaping our front yard, with rocks, & desert friendly plants, Palm trees, & Crepe Myrtle trees, which I look forward to watching grow & bloom each Spring! Israel & his crew also did landscaping work in our backyard, grading our property, eliminating tumble weeds, etc., & putting in rocks to eliminate dust & allergens from weeds down in a back drive- way & trailer parking area, & he also installed artificial sport turf, which looks beautiful, & is great for our grandchildren & our dog to safely play on. The turf holds up well, easy to keep clean & to maintain. Israel & his crew also designed & created in our front yard, along with other landscaping needs & planing beautiful plants & trees, as I've mentioned above, a beautiful rock riverbed stream along our front side yard where we have three mature trees along the fence line. This rock riverbed stream Israel inserted runs dry in good weather, but runs with rainfall water during rain storms, & looks beautiful wet or dry, & prevents property flooding during heavy rain storms, by guiding the rain water out to the street to city flood drains. We have had one rain storm & thus has proved to work & do it's job as planned. My property is beautiful, & I enjoy looking out & spending time, at both, my front & backyard. I especially appreciate that my property no longer has dirt & tumble weeds that induce & trigger major allergy asthma attacks in me. I initially contacted Isarael to discuss installing artificial turf in the backyard, as well as several other potential landscaping jobs but we were undecided which to pursue first. Isarael helped us by coming over to the house several times to discuss options and show us samples. Ultimately, we decided to proceed with the artificial turf in the backyard in order to compliment the pool area in preparation for summer. Isarael provided us with a quote that was both reasonable and fair, and not long after he stated he could also give us the Spring-season discount which amended our final total which was obviously a nice gesture. Isarael and his crew were a pleasure to deal with and completed the job in less than a week. Isarael also assisted us in selecting the appropriate desert plants for the surrounding flower bed, and the on-site supervisor, Arnold, was even instrumental in re-channeling the irrigation system to factor in watering the new plants. The job is completed and we are 100% satisfied with the quality of the artificial turf Isarael helped us select, not to mention our satisfaction regarding the exceptional work ethic displayed by Isarael, Arnold, Sammy, and the rest of the crew. Im so disappointed in this company. I spent several weeks coordinating work to be done in my yard. We set a date and 5 days before the start date he tells me that he won't be starting on the agreed date. He told me he just secured a bigger job so he has to push my start date out a month. SMH..Really???!! We agreed on 10% to start and he seem to not be happy with that all of a sudden and today he tells me he has another job. He changed his yelp from Evergreen Landscape Design to this new name due to negative reviews. I am so in shocked right now and I am truly disappointed. First and foremost, ALWAYS trust your gut. DO NOT hire Evergreen Landscaping (sole owner, Isarael Arzate) for even a simple job. I called to get an estimate on a major landscape job with one portion taking priority. I emphatically explained and reiterated several times that a roughly 24x55 area needed to be completely leveled and 4" compacted crushed rock needed to be placed on top for a 12x38 structure to be placed on. Isarael acknowledged via text the area would be level and the rock would be compacted at a 4" depth. We had a scheduled start date of 04/09/2024 (two weeks after the contract was signed); he told me to let him know if anything in my schedule changes and he'd do the same. The morning of, I sent him a text to say the gate was unlocked and he replied he was out of state on a family emergency and would not be available to complete the job until that following weekend. He did show up that weekend for a couple hours and claimed to have leveled and compacted the rock. Our structure arrived a few days after (from Pennsylvania) and when placed on the rock, the rock sank down and is over a foot off being level from end to end. Items literally roll to the other end when placed inside. I sent Isarael a text and no response. I texted again three days later and he called saying he got my text, but was busy and requested I send photos. I sent several photos and didn't hear from him and had to text again a week later and told him I would like $1000 of the $1700 paid because that's what it was going to cost to have the structure moved to fix what he did. He became extremely rude, tried to blame the structure's delivery company for putting it on unlevel ground even though it was his error and told me the only right I have is for him to help fix the leveling once the structure is moved. Why on earth would I want his "help" when he couldn't perform the simple job to begin with? He told me I wasn't getting any money back because the rock was $800 (it was not, the company left the invoice) and the fabric was $300 (but he said it was only $200 on the contract) so he's extremely dishonest, clearly takes no accountability for his shoddy work on top of being completely unprofessional. Isarael's contracts aren't even elementary level, he never provided a quote for the other portion of landscaping (no loss there) and wouldn't provide a final invoice when asked. Also, when you look up his contractors license it shows it is currently under suspension. The only service Evergreen Landscaping provides is disservice. read more

My landscaping project had numerous cost overruns compared to what was quoted in the first place. The contract was excessively vague as written and missed extensive details such as painting the fencing after construction forcing us to do much of the work presumed to be done by the contractor. These activities are generally considered to be included in an upfront cost but not so in our experience. Worst still, I had the train personnel on site to build a specific type of fencing to match my old fence the style. They used my table saw and still charged the same rates as if they used their equipment. I found this highly unprofessional as additional costs were added into the contract without notification before all work was completed. Rock color was not matched to the prior existing landscaping. The work conducted took forever to do and their was very little to be done. The final outcome of their landscaping was poor in many ways . Fencing is crooked, cheap bent wood was used in many spots, a lot of debris were left behind, the watering lines function poorly for our trees, a tree they planed is about dead, and just overall very poor attention to detail.
