My mom was bedridden for a while, and I spoke to June Geronaga, whom I have known for a long time. She recommended that I put my mom in Evergreen hospice care, and I did. She helped me get my mom in. Evergreen made my mom comfortable and pain-free; her RN Vince was very caring and helped my mom alleviate her pain. RN Ronel was very sweet and kind; he gave my mom a sponge bath on the last day of her passing. I met Dr. Frilling he was very kind and compassionate. For a short time, they made my mom comfortable, and we, her family, were very happy for their service. I have nothing but praise for this organization! About 9am on a Monday, our doctor informed us that we had to start my father-in-law (or Dad, as we called him) on hospice care. I had no idea who to use for this, so our doctor made the call for us. About an hour or so later, I received a call from Charmayne, and about an hour later, she was meeting with me to get everything all set up. Now, Charmayne was a blessing to us.. as was everyone from Evergreen Hospice. Charmayne was very professional in handling all of the paperwork, easing our fears, joking with us at the right times to help relieve some stress and anxiety that we had stored up. I can not think of a better person to have representing a hospice than Charmayne. She made you feel secure in everything that was happening.. as well as what was going to happen down the road. By 2pm the same day, medical supplies were arriving at our home for Dad's needs: the hospital bed, a walker, oxygen tanks, and more. Shortly after that, Regina (the nurse) showed up. Regina was just what we needed. Dad is Korean with very little English comprehension. Regina is Korean and she was able to fully communicate with Dad (and Mom) everything that she was going to do for him (and Mom) to make everything as comfortable as possible for the both of them. Regina is a very sweet lady who really knows her stuff. She's great dealing with patients and has great patience dealing with the family's questions and concerns. Regina stayed with us for about two hours to make sure everything was taken care of (vitals, information for everyone, prescriptions ordered.. everything!). Around 8pm, Dennis arrived to check on Dad. Dennis was a sweetheart. Very kind and compassionate and he was wonderful with Dad and the family. Regina visited again on Tuesday as did Dennis. At no time did I feel that they were rushing through the visit to get to another patient. As far as I'm concerned, they treated Dad as if he was the most important person to them, as he was to us. Wednesday came... and we knew Dad's time was running out. regina was there for a few hours, talking with Dad.. talking with the family... doing everything she could to make everyone feel better. Later that night, Dennis was there for dad's final hour. Both Dennis and Regina stayed in contact with the doctor overseeing Dad's care, and this was very important towards the end of Dad's life. After Dad passed, Dennis didn't just pack-up his bag and say "See ya!" He stayed to talk with the family, did the final paperwork, contacted the mortuary (that we had already designated), prepped Dad's body for them, spent more time talking with the family.. and he didn't leave until almost 90 minutes after Dad's passing. During Dad's care, Evergreen made sure that all of Dad's needs were being met: we had great nurses, immediate delivery of medical equipment and prescriptions, they arranged for a representative from Social Services to visit to see what they could do to help. They were there at the beginning and they were there at the end. I received a few follow-up calls from everyone that I encountered from Evergreen. All of them were very sweet and compassionate. At no time (still almost a month later) have I received any calls from them (or any affiliated organization) to donate to a church, donate to them.. or received any other kind of intrusive or insensitive requestor comment from them. Evergreen Hospice Care is AMAZING!! Anytime we had a situation that we were not sure of, we called and they answered immediately. We never had to wait. My father fell during 4th of July weekend and they delivered a hospital bed within a few hours. We thought it would have to wait for next business day. His RN, Theresa and social worker, Ellen, were especially comforting. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Survivors may be harassed by the agency's staff or their volunteers/associates due to aggressive attempts to be part of their cult called Living Stream or The Local Church. They don't let you grieve in peace after your loved one passes away, which makes your sadness even worse. They bothered me enough that I was tempted to get a restraining order. read more

My dad passed away this morning. The past 6 months Dad was on hospice with the wonderful team at Evergreen. Alex, Dad's RN, is professional yet he also has the ability to adapt to personalities- like Dad's. Ellen, Dad's social worker, took care of Dad and our family unit. Both Alex and Ellen communicated with me and kept me updated. They both also supported my husband as Dad's caregiver. Anytime we called Evergreen on weekends we were provided with more top quality care. Having a "not so great" experience thus far. Mom was discharged into hospice from the hospital 10 days ago. She has yet to have one night of "peace and comfort". Nurses have adjusted her medications several times but we are still needing to tend to her on an hourly basis. She is experiencing shortness of breath, pain, chronic itching, she is very uncomfortable, crying out in frustration. We have put in several requests for a night nurse to provide coverage so that we can rest, all have been denied. Medications are being adjusted daily and the have yet to find a zone of comfort for her. This is the worst. read more

This facility did an amazing job coordinating care for my elderly great grandmother. They were always on time, extremely gentle, treated her with the upmost respect and care, and always made sure to fulfill the wishes of the family as well as our Mother's. In todays world, you don't find a lot of patience, personal help and real concern and follow up. Especially in the medical field. My experience was so wonderful in a terrible time that I would like to acknowledge the staff at Evergreen Hospice in Cerritos CA. Actually it is only one staff member I was dealing with- but if they hire people like her, then this place must be very caring and kind and where you want to be. At this time of life, decisions- tough decisions must be made. I was referred to Charmayne Geier to test the waters. I had no information and no idea what I was doing and what came next. Now I do not even live in that area and knew I couldn't use her facility, but she still cared enough to talk things through with me. She explained the process and even looked up where I could find confident and caring help. She gave me so much solid information that I found this to be utterly amazing in todays age. (Kinda sad, but true) Charmayne Geir listened to me, She helped. Even calling after work hours to check on the situation. This is someone you would want around to navigate these waters. I just had the need to use Evergreen Hospice Care at the end of my stepdad's life and I can't begin to express how wonderful they were. Vivian, our social worker, was incredible and had answers to all of our questions and gave us the guidance we needed. Kristin was our RN Case Manager and was so kind and thorough. Doroteo Santiago was his CHHA and went above and beyond. He obviously cares about his patients and even came by to visit on his own time. Evergreen was the hospice we used to care for my father in law. When he was admitted, he was declining rapidly. Evergreen handled his admission quickly because we wanted my father in law to die peacefully at home rather than the hospital. Within hours of signing the paper work, he was on his way home. I recently lost my mother. It has been an extremely rough journey for us and the medical portion of it has cause our family a lot of mental stress. However we were able to catch a break at the end when we had Evergreen Hospice. The staff is amazing! After a somewhat rough start communication wise the first day (it was late at night) Evergreen Hospice was there for me every step of the way during the last months of my mom's life. These people knew exactly what they were doing, they helped when there were issues, they went out of their way to help in some cases. The nurse (Edmund) was one of the nicest guys I've ever met and every moment, despite the horrible situation, was a pleasure to work with these guys. They made the process so easy. Even six months later when I have a billing issue they're right there helping to get it taken care of. I'm so grateful they were there for my mom in her last months and she had a ball with them too. I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers of this company. Love these people and yes, they are Angels! When we decided to utilize hospice care for our Mom we had no idea what to expect. As her life came to an end, the nurses, doctor and office staff were always available and approachable. They seemed to care for our Mom as much as we cared for her and they simply knew what we needed and what to do to make our Mom comfortable and safe.
