Forever Grateful to Healing Care Hospice for the Care They Gave My Dad…read more I don't even know where to begin in expressing the depth of my gratitude for Healing Care Hospice and their incredible team. When my dad's health began to decline and we were told it was time for hospice, my family was heartbroken and scared. We didn't know what to expect, and we wanted to make sure he would be surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity. From the very first moment Healing Care Hospice stepped in, we felt an enormous sense of peace. The nurses who cared for my dad were absolute angels. They treated him like he was their own family -- always gentle, patient, and respectful. They explained everything to us with compassion and honesty, making sure we understood what was happening every step of the way. It never felt rushed or routine; it felt deeply personal. Even during the hardest moments, their calm presence and kindness made such a difference. The aides and caregivers were just as amazing. They made sure my dad was clean, comfortable, and pain-free. They noticed the little things -- fixing his blanket, massaging his hands, talking softly to him when he couldn't respond -- small gestures that spoke volumes about their compassion. The social worker and chaplain also brought so much comfort, not just to my dad but to our entire family. They gave us emotional support, listened when we needed to talk, and helped us process everything we were feeling. It meant the world to have people who didn't just focus on medical care but truly cared for the human and spiritual side of what we were going through. One thing that stood out was the way the team communicated. They were always available -- day or night -- and made sure we never felt alone. Whether it was a question about medication, a sudden change in my dad's condition, or just needing reassurance, someone was always there to help with warmth and patience. When my dad passed, the hospice team was with us, guiding us gently through those final moments with compassion and respect. They handled everything with such grace, giving us space to say goodbye in peace. Even after, they checked in on us to see how we were doing, which meant so much. I can honestly say Healing Care Hospice helped my dad transition with comfort and dignity, and helped our family find peace in an incredibly painful time. They weren't just caregivers -- they became part of our family during those last weeks. To everyone at Healing Care Hospice: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made an unbearable time a little easier, and you gave my dad the care and love he deserved. We will never forget what you did for us. If anyone reading this is searching for hospice care for a loved one, I can say with complete confidence that Healing Care Hospice is the kind of team you want by your side. They bring heart, compassion, and genuine humanity to every moment.

I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

I paid $1200 out of pocket, only to find out that the wheelchair was far too large for my mom's small frame. Their referral would not exchange the wheelchair for a smaller size, nor would they refund any of my money for a wheelchair my mom was unable to use. I was stuck with the entire bill of $1200 and they provided no financial assistance whatsoever I ended up donating the wheelchair to the nursing facility. The worst experience of all occurred the day my mom passed away. They delivered my mother's body to the wrong crematorium, which was located approximately 30 minutes from the correct funeral home. lNever received an apology, nor did I receive a call or a single response from them, despite my countless attempts to contact them by phone, email and text. Horrific experience!!! I wish I could give them ZERO stars

From the beginning, each and every interaction we had with the Ziba team was professional, competent, and above-all, completely full of heart. It is this last point that I want to emphasize in particular. We understand that Ziba is a business, but it never seemed like that to us. Instead, it seemed like they were an extension of our own family the way that they cared for my dad. They were kind, compassionate, and gentle in a way that only people who truly care for other people from their hearts could be. While every person we dealt with was amazing (including all of the nurses and the doctor who cared for him). I want to give a big shout out to Cheryll who was our original point of contact and Rey who helped my mom with basic everyday tasks as my dad's condition deteriorated. My dad knew that he was being cared for by people who treated him with dignity and compassion from the first day until the end. If you are reading this, i am sorry for what you are going through. Hiring Ziba will be the most important thing you can do for your loved one. Don't hesitate for a second!

My mother transitioned so peacefully just a few days ago, and no greater comfort could've come from anyone other than the ZIBA Hospice team. Throughout a long and slow debilitating decline over many years, I had dealt with other hospices and been sadly disappointed... often feeling as though my mom was just one of many, and compassion was a commodity that was hard to come by. By the grace of God, a home health doctor encouraged me to seek out ZIBA, and my faith in the mission of compassionate commitment to patient care was restored. Into my mother's life came truly exceptional and loving individuals .... Cora & Joey, Dr. Baculi, Cheryll, Jovanne, Rose, Ann, Robin, Beth, Renee, along with many other cherished nurses who appeared at any and all times during on-call hours. My mother's path in hospice care was a winding road, wrought at times with acute situations, and many times, to put it simply, with remarkable yet unexpected stability. But, that was my mother ... despite her condition, despite reaching bedridden status, despite becoming non-verbal, despite her body failing her ... despite it all, she was a fighter, and she knew she was blessed in the genuine selfless care she was receiving by the ZIBA angels who always brought comfort to her. Long beyond the expected timeline for hospice services, ZIBA never ever ever gave up on her ... never diminished their level of loving care and compassion, never grew complacent. This was such a gift, not only for my mother, but for me ... and I am eternally grateful. I have a special note about Jovanne ... As my mother's case manager and RN, Jovanne led an exceptional team with grace and wisdom ...calmly ascertaining every situation, considering all options, and educating me along the way. Her gentle nature and beautiful heart guided and supported us every step of the way, and especially when I was fearful of what the changes in my mom's condition meant. I knew very early on that she was heaven sent. Every single person on the ZIBA team consistently went above and beyond, and my wish would be for them to be recognized as the absolute BEST, because they are. Everyone, from the owners to the volunteers shared a common attribute ... a HEART OF GOLD that was second to none. In my mother's final days, when she no longer desired food or water, Jovanne arranged for exemplary continuous care nurses (Linda, Jeny and Irene) who sat bedside with me, taking vitals & monitoring every change with such respect, dignity and compassion. As I watched my mother's light grow dim, I felt her soul find comfort and peace in the loving hands of angels. With all my heart .... Thank You to ZIBA Hospice .... May all souls in need find their way to this incredible team. My mother is at peace, and above all, I wish that for your loved one when that time comes. Sincerely, Lovina

The last thing families need during these difficult stressful times is added stress from terrible cavalier, and lacking service. They refuse to accept their horrible mistake which is the TRUTH. I did NOT have a problem with mom getting discharge I am very thankful for it as I am thankful she transitioned from hospice to home health, I did have a major problem with their disgusting discharge procedures, their refusal to take responsibility for the wrong information Maria gave me would affect my elderly mom's well being. My mother's discharge was atrocious and very poorly handled, yes she was given a 2 week supplies and equipment after discharge however this does NOT excuse them for the terrible treatment the last day. I would even consider it inhumane. 2 days before the medical equipment was supposed to be picked up a nurse named Maria informed me that NO date was actually set for moms medical equipment to be picked up. (Wrong information) 48 hrs. later and about 1 hour before mom's bed time a receptionist by the name of Samantha informs me by telephone that law enforcement would be called out if I did not surrender the hospital bed, I was shocked and panicked and in utter disbelief. Yes I elevated my voice I was outraged for the handling of their mistake and the misinformation they gave me and to be told the police would be called out if mom did not surrender the hospital bed. I had to call public health to investigate their terrible discharge practices, ** the investigator advised me on 2/16/2024 to share my experience so others would be made aware of my experience. They did NOT care when I informed them that mom would be sleeping on the floor because of their terrible mistake, the case manager named Vera korkanovic declined to speak to me to defuse this matter, or to find a resolution. The owner Tali Fayfel refused to speak to me as well. She later calls screaming at me. The receptionist screamed at me talked over me and repeatedly told me moms hospital bed was going to be picked up that evening no matter what! In panic and in the evening hours I began taking out some medical equipment outside, I had no idea how mom's health would be affected sleeping on the floor that night. ****The only nurse that stood out from everyone was a nurse named DAMARIS she was consistently caring, professional, and patient. ** I did email hospice to let them know I would be sharing this horrible experience so other families would not have to go through this. Sorry if you view this as threatening. * Social worker did not return calls/ text messages for days. * Case manager refused to take my calls a number of times when I needed guidance for discharge. Below are OFFICIAL findings directly from the FINAL report by the California Department of Public Health (Complaint Number 2641478), which indicated that Compassionate Care was being investigated based on multiple serious complaints within a short period of time -- yet it continues to misrepresent the findings by the Department of Public Health. If they spent as much time combating negative reviews by their customers and fabricating disinformation as they do on patient care, maybe they wouldn't have so many one-star reviews to begin with. "The initial plan of care, updated plans of care, initial assessment, comprehensive assessment, updated comprehensive assessments and clinical notes - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on record review and staff interviews, the hospice failed to ensure completion of clinical record to reflect the family member's concern regarding a change in the patient's condition. This failure created the potential for not having the patient's current condition to provide necessary care and services for the patients. " "Signed copies of the notice of patient rights in accordance with Section 418.52 and election statement in accordance with Section 418.24 - This STANDARD is NOT MET as evidenced by: Based on staff interview and record review, the hospice failed to ensure the written addendum showing diagnoses and non-covered items was completed with the actual date completed/provided to the patient/family member... This failure had the potential for not having an accurate information on the patient's clinical record." Read the above for yourself and see if you believe the official report found no deficiencies as asserted by Compassionate Care. There is a clear lack of ethics and humanity toward their patients. A simple phone call or email to the grieving family with an apology would have been a good start, and yet they are incapable of admitting their shortcomings and chose to fabricate results of the findings. I urge anyone considering Compassionate Care to contact the California Department of Public Health regarding the complaints and think hard about whether you would want this organization to care for your family member during their last moments.

Me and my family are so thankful for Jesse and the entire Bella Vida Hospice staff. When I called with questions their Intake & afterhours team was so patient and informative. They actually called back with updates when they said they would. Their RN case manager, Jasmine, visits were right away and didn't take long. She cared for my God Father and provided him dignity with his care and his end of life wishes. We had a room full of people every visit and she was so informative in a time when we needed that the most. Bella Vida's social worker, Elizabeth, arrived just when my God father passed. It's like she knew we needed her without us having to ask. She helped answer questions about arranging a Veteran's removal for my God Father from the assisted living he was at and guided us in arranging a mortuary buy giving us options in our area. The RN who arrived after our loved one passed came in with such gentleness and gave us time to process his passing.
