I've been going to this clinic for more than 30 years. I have found all of the staff to be very helpful and caring. Only issue is how long it takes to get an appointment but I all my doctors are that way. read more

BEWARE of PA-C Aiyana Turpin Scott!! my husband saw her for headaches, dizzyness, lethargy and she diagnosed tension headaches and told him to go home and take Advil. she totally ignored family history and a recent bad skiing accident as a reference. 5 days later I took my husband to the ER which resulted in a craniotomy for a large subdural hematoma from a brain bleed that occurred from his ski accident. She is ill trained and lacks medical experience, or has the mentality to "get 'em in, get 'em out" health insurance mentality we seniors often experience. My advice is to see a real doctor. read more

Went to establish a primary care physician, at the initial visit i had blood work done and 4 meds renewed and a follow up appt set for 3 months later. I tried to refill the 4 prescriptions and found only 1 was renewed, when I called to get the others renewed I was told I would need to come in for a separate appointment for each medications renewal because "the appt is for 30 minutes and we can only discuss one medication per visit ". I used to have nothing but 5 star experiences when Dr. Wilson and Stacie (ARNP) were there. Since Dr. Wilson retired and Stacie left, I have had several poor experiences. Laura Paulson, ARNP did not listen to my concerns, her bedside manner was robot-like with poor eye contact, and she documented incorrect information in my chart. She labeled me as anxious and obese. I am not anxious or obese (my BMI has never been 30 or more). Who wants to be falsely labeled as fat and crazy? Anxiety was not discussed and if she felt concerned about me experiencing anxiety, why did she not ask questions or offer support? Dr. Ramadas if very nice, but she prescribed my child iron supplements when her iron levels were 3X the upper limit (not low) but not absorbing. Fortunately, I read the lab results and did not give her any iron that was prescribed. Adding iron could've pushed my child into a disease state called hemachromatosis. Scary. I had to make another appointment to request a hematology consult. Dr. Boboc is also very nice and seemed to listen during my appointment for low back pain follow up. She documented my chief complaint/purpose of visit as something else. When I requested she correct the purpose of my visit, she refused. I'm not OK with providers making up problems for me or putting words in my mouth. The above three providers have wasted my time, money, and with 2 of the 3 they caused more (rather than solving) problems. I gave 2 starts because I've had good experiences with some of the other Lakeshore Clinic providers: Dr. Lee, Dr. Leonardo, Dr. Leonardo, Dr. Higginbotham, and Dr. Eckart Sad that I can't universally trust all the providers to provide good care. I was in earlier this week for a blood draw and this was the first time in my life that I did not feel the needle. She is fantastic at her job. Thank you! read more

The service at this clinic has gone down hill since they became Evergreen health!! The doctor I have seen for years retired. I'm not a new patient. I have been going to this clinic for 44 years! I've been through a doctor retiring previously, and it was seamless. Nothing like this nightmare. I've been out of blood pressure medication for 2 weeks and can't get an appt. or anyone to help me. Called pharmacy almost 2 weeks ago, they never heard back from the clinic. So I started calling the clinic. First time I called I held for an hour with no option to leave a message or get a place in queue held and a call back. Was told this day they would get it taken care of right away. Next day, still nothing. So I called back again. Selected a different option, but still held FOREVER! This person told me they couldn't renew my prescription because the doctor retired, I can understand that. They told me to call on the following Saturday for a same day appt. Okay. Then I realized, I couldn't make it, I had a appt. to take a family member to. I immediately called back same day, held again. This person told me They don't do same day appt's, I would need an appt. but there weren't any. I explained that's not what the person earlier said. She said well if that's what you were told, go ahead and call on Saturday. I called exactly at the time they opened. Left my name and number in queue for a call back. They did call back. They said they would pass along as urgent to the medical team to get this taken care of. I should have asked exactly what that meant. I wasn't sure if they would squeeze me in, so I fasted as in the past they would draw blood and had me fast. At 1:30 PM I called back to see what was going on. Left my name and number again for a call back. NEVER even a call back. It is now Monday and I am no further along than I was when I called the first time. This is horrible and totally unacceptable customer service, especially when it's an important medication like blood pressure meds!! Still holding again after 35 min. They finally answered. Nice lady, trying to help. I asked for a call back so I know if this is taken care of. 21.5 hours later, still no call back, again. :( I did finally get an appt, for December! Seems to me needing BP medicine is more important that putting the patient off for 1.5 months. read more

Don't expect them to answer the phone. 2 hrs and 13 minutes for what was announced as a 25 minute wait. It's clear they want you to press one and ask for a callback. I finally gave up and tried the callback option. Judging by some other reviews, I'll be lucky to get one. read more

I was looking for a primary care doctor and I was skeptical to try this place due to many bad reviews but anyways I gave it a try. I call for an appointment and got one pretty quickly with dr Eckert. He listened to my complains. He took the time to talk to me and explain things. He ordered x rays and 2 more tests which was done at the same office. He got the results and explained what was going on, gave some information and even wrote some notes for me. So I have no complains with the dr. I think he did his job and even more by getting the results right away and talking to me after that. The ladies in the front desk had a smile and they did their job as well. The nurse wasn't smiling but she did what she was supposed to do. I don't give 5 starts because there is always room for improvement, but this dr visit wasn't unpleasant at all. Dr Herron and Dr Wilson have both been great. The only reason it is 4 instead of 5 stars is the front desk customer service. They can be sassy and rude sometimes but it depends on the day. Other than that everyone has been amazing and super competent which is refreshing. Thank you! read more

There is no service with a smile at this place. I understand that they are dealing with sick people daily, however a pleasant greeting would be nice when you approach the reception area. The next issue with this clinic is they have an online appointment request system that doesn't work. I was sick over the weekend and figured I could schedule an appointment online. Nope. This just sends a message to a scheduler to call you. I use the online appointment tool at 3:00 PM on Sunday. I receive a call on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. I guess if you're used to working with Comcast that's pretty fast service. Since I didn't receive a call or email Monday morning I called in at 10:30 and scheduled the appointment. The other issue I have is a lack of real patient service. I was given medications and said if things don't get better in a few days, the nurse practitioner would have a stronger medication prescribed. Two days later I'm feeling much worse. The nurse says to give it a few more days. This is late on a Thursday afternoon and a few more days would be on the weekend when they are closed. I told her I would call back the next day if I wasn't feeling better. Friday comes and I'm feeling worse. I call in and ask for stronger medications. Her assistant calls back at 2:40 PM and says the prescription will be called in for pick up later in the day. Nope again. I called the after hours number and they said the pharmacist needs to call in to get the prescription. So he does and gets tolk that I need to go in for an x-ray before a prescription can be sent. Funny thing is, no one told me that. I would have had that x-ray done ASAP if that information was given to me. The next morning (Saturday) I receive a message from the pharmacy that my prescription is ready for pick up. No call from the clinic, the nurse or any doctor. Wow! Phenomenal communication!!? My recommendation? Find another clinic. This place really doesn't have good service model. Unhappy employees, poor communication and online services that really just emails your request to someone to manually take care of your request. read more

I love my Dr here, Dr. Higginbotham. However the call in support process is a disaster. Dropped calls, poor follow-up, and you really can't depend on them. My initial appointment scheduled on the phone was for 3 months out. When I arrived the appointment wasn't even in the system. Recently I need a blood test order faxed to a local lab. This took over a week and they still did not send it after Dr. H wrote the order. The Evergreen lady on the phone threatened to drop my call and reminded me that calls were recorded and the Doctor would hear the call. All I had done was expressed concern that after 4 calls I still needed someone to fax my order, and I was requesting a call back to confirm. Sadly, though I really like my Doctor, if I can't get to him through a very poor support system at Evergreen Bothell, I need to look for a new Primary Care Physician. I hope someone from Evergreen reads this. read more

Dr. Georgiana Boboc was so friendly. She walked into the room, at my last appointment, and smiled at me as if she'd known me for years and had missed me. Her demeanour was welcoming and immediately put me at ease. I've seen her a couple of times. My other favorites at this location are Dr. Lilaine Leonardo and Dr. David Higginbottom. Higginbottom is amazing with children and has excellent people skills. Dr. Thomas Wilson is good too. The clinic can usually fit you in quickly for a same day or next day appt which is always appreciated. The only draw back is they sometimes over book and the wait times are long. It's not uncommon for the Doctor to walk into the exam room after the time your appointment was scheduled to start. read more

This place is terrible post Evergreen merger. Patient care is suffering. Takes forever to get through on the phone, 20+ min regardless of the day or time you call. Hidden fees, and terrible customer service, everything gets routed through an understaffed call center now. Does not have the feel of a primary care center any more. Turn and burn. I've reached out to evergreen multiple times regarding my concerns and I think this last interaction was the last straw. Doctors are nice enough but it's not worth the massive effort to see them. This merger directly resulted in worse patient outcomes. read more

My family has been going to this clinic for as long as I remember. My primary doctor is Dr. Platz, but I have seen Boboc, Reid, and Esser. They're all very nice and sweet doctors! They all have a sense of humor, so going in for check ups makes me feel more at ease, and they're easy to talk to. They all really care about their patients and make sure they go the extra mile. The nurses are also friendly and nice as well. My brother's doctor is Higganbotham and I've heard good things about him Only issue is how busy it is. Make sure to schedule appointments atleast 1-2 weeks in advance. Also, some of the receptionists can be a bit rude, I think her name was Priscilla. I recently had a very bad hive break out, and usually all their appointments are booked up, but an employee named Janie tried her best and was able to get me in last minute, which I'm very grateful for. Wow. After attending this clinic for 12 years and watching the quality go down and down, I've finally had enough. This place has two doctors who are worth anything. Dr. Lu and Dr. Platz. I've seen Dr. Eckert (rude, condescending, and disrespectful) Dr. Leonardo (just doesn't seem like she wants to be there) and Dr. Higgenbottom or however it is spelled (short visit, sent me on my way without fixing the problem) and they made me dislike this place. Front desk staff is hit or miss. Their business office is disrespectful, and demeaning. I went here for 12 years and was treated like yesterday's garbage because of a clerical error by my insurance provider. I STRONGLY recommend finding a different office to visit. Unless you like being treated like a beggar in the street. read more

I was impressed by how courteous the customer service was when I called in for an appointment. They were able to get me in last minute, on a Friday. I chose to go to Lakeshore because it is within walking distance to my house. When I arrived they had me fill out the paperwork, and I was received promptly. Dr. Eckert was nice and very thorough. I was having a lot of sinus pain and was disappointed that he told me there was nothing that could be done because he thought it seemed to be a viral infection. While I was bummed that I couldn't really be treated for what was going on, I appreciated his honesty and that he didn't just try to write a prescription to shut me up. He suggested I take alleve and rest. This is definitely a clinic, and it seemed kind of crazy when I arrived. If you need to get in somewhere last minute though, I would suggest this place, as I had a good first time experience. read more

The front desk is hit and miss. One person is gone who was very passive aggressive, but the insurance screening is very much in place. So my history with one Dr there is invisible to another. They lost an x-ray of mine for a broken bone but didn't tell me. I was supposed to wait for Dr review and they'd call me. They never called, so I called them. THEN they told me they lost it. I was told to call back and reschedule an appointment. I went elsewhere because the bone was calcifying and I didn't want to have to break it to reset it. Another Dr there told my child he might have appendicitis. But my child's complaint was vomiting for 1 1/2 weeks. She described the procedure; "We take a knife and cut you open to cut out the appendix". Seriously. I left there and took him to the ER where my child was treated for giardia and cured. The ER Dr shook his head at the appendicitis diagnosis, the child would have been in excruciating local pain, or it could have erupted I was told in that 1 1/2 weeks preceeding. Dr Platz is a good Dr, but God help you if she's busy. She is very busy because she is good. Without her and the friendly business office staff - Lakeshore Clinic gets 1 star. Dr Lu is good too. We've seen them all and I could go on. The wait times are 30 minutes to 1 hour even if you schedule ahead. The lab will shunt you off if busy, even if the Dr said to stop in for a draw on the way out. Ad infinitum. Beware. read more

I can't say enough good things about the staff at Lakeshore clinic. My urogolist wouldn't give me any pain pills for my large kidney stone stuck in my ureter. He says kidney stones don't hurt. Dr Esser made sure I got just enough to get me through the weekend until I could get into the urologist office. I would have ended up back at the ER if she didn't. Oh boy, where to even begin. I've been here twice in the last two weeks. My first experience, I went in because I had been sick for two weeks. Went into detail about all of my symptoms and concerns. Dr. Lu seemed genuine, and interested in what I had to say, but in the end she just disregarded everything I had shared and just says eh it's a virus then sent me to the lab. 5 needles it took to finally get blood drawn, I have NEVER had this problem. The nurse ended up having to get someone else to complete the blood draw. A week later, no answers. I went back yesterday to see dr Gerard. Again, seemed like he was listening but didn't even address 50% of the issues I complained about. He did however end the visit by saying I am obese 1 There's overweight. Obese 1. And obese 2. I am a tad overweight due to a medication I was on for 2 years, and I am working through that, but dang. What an ass. read more

The 2 stars are for the front desk staff ONLY. They were friendly, and knowledgeable. I waited for 1 hour to see Dr. David for 8 minutes. I had an appointment, sat in the waiting room forever, and then was transferred to the exam room, where I proceeded to wait forever again. Is this typical M.O. for Doctors? Maybe this is why I never go. Why even make an appointment? When Dr. David did show up she didn't make any apologies for the wait time. I saw her for something simple - ingrown toenail (I know, gross). She told me she isn't very "good at those"... and wrote me a prescription for some antibiotics and told me to take 12 advil a day for 2 weeks. 2 weeks came and went and my goodness, I was almost 100% healed! I was so excited I ran out and bought a sexy new pair of shoes to wear when I was completely healed. The day before my antibiotics ran out I called her office to see if I could get a refill for maybe 4-5 extra days because it wasn't 100% there yet. They said Dr. David would call me back - but she didn't. Her assistant called me and said "Go see a Podiatrist." I tried to explain to her that I probably only needed a few extra days and she said "Dr. David says go see a Podiatrist." I hung up - totally pissed off. 3 days later, my toe is now getting worse again, it could have been perfect if she or her staff would have taken the time to listen to me. I'm going to see the dreaded Podiatrist, I'm scared out of my wit because I hate needles, cutting, surgery, etc... but I am also sick of this stupid problem. So, thanks for nothing! Like ANY clinic the trick is to find the right doctor. I started going to the Lakeshore Clinic right after I moved to the Bothell/Kirkland area. I have always had a good experience here. My favorite thing about this clinic is that I have always been able to get a SAME DAY APPOINTMENT on short notice when I really needed to. I have, from time to time, experienced a fairly long wait to see the doctor but if you've ever been to ANY clinic.... you'll have to wait from time to time. Its just how these places work. My advice? Get up early and schedule one of the first appointments of the day- you'll never have to wait. The staff has always been nice both on the phone and in person. The waiting rooms are pretty big, pleasant and never overly crowded (which is a plus during cold/flu season). I will most likely continue going here for a long time!! read more

I've never really had any problems. It took me a while to find a doctor / nurse combo I really like, but once I found them it was great. Dr Platz has been amazing to me and her nurse is just the best. I've dealt with waiting and whatnot, but that's every dr's office I've ever been to. Heh, I hope the previous reviewer never needs to visit an ER :) Anyway - I'm gonna give my props. Everything's been professional and they've been able accomidate me over the phone when I don't have money for a copay or needed coupons for a name brand drug. And when I needed to come in at last notice, someone's always been able to see me without an appointment. I think it's hard to find a dr you connect to, but with many choices here, it's likely you'll find yours here too. read more

I've been going to Dr. Lu for general check-ups for a few years now and have had only good experiences. She is very friendly and allows me to be involved in decisions instead of just making them for me (which tests to run, different treatment options, etc). Today I saw the phlebotomist for the first time, and she did a wonderful job. I usually despise needles but she was quick and I barely felt anything. We have been going to Lakeshore Clinic for around 18 years. We have seen Dr's Higgenbotham, Platz and Esser primarily, but others also when schedule dictated. I have to say we have always gotten great, accurate care and have always been treated very respectfully. Very friendly staff. I really don't know how to account for these one star reviews saying how bad the place is. My only guess is that it's competing clinics in the area posting, or it's just whiny, immature people who complain on yelp every time life doesn't go exactly how they want it. I've been going to Dr Platz for over 10 yrs and she is the BEST! If you want a Dr who cares but will talk to you honestly about what YOU need to do to get to a better place healthwise, she is for you. She explains things in a manner which makes sense. She always gives great advice. Several times when I needed urgent care - she had me referred and at a specialists office the same day. I cant imagine going to another Doctor. I have diabetes - and Dr. Platz has been wonderful in getting me to a point where I am controlled. read more

Yes! They are open on Saturdays until 4 pm AND the front office peeps are actually really nice. Not burned out and mean... I was sick with a cold and horrible cough that would NOT go away. I got in within 7 minutes of my appt time. Yes, I counted 'cause I'm like that. The med assistant was thorough, asked her questions, and was pleasant. Dr. Was the same and very at ease with me and asked a lot of questions about my history etc. I will go back for sure and I will bring my people with me. I was not able to see the dr's that were recommended to me by a couple of my friends (Platz and Buerhens) but I was pleased with the Dr. I did see, Dr. Lu. read more

I was a little weary about this place because of the horrible reviews, however it is so close to my house and I needed a doctor before I left for vacation. I called and spoke to a very friendly, very informative receptionist. Who helped me schedule an appointment for the following day. Arrived the next morning early so I could get my paper work completed being a new patient and all, and the woman that helped me was so sweet and helpful. Again got me taken care of and sent up stairs for my appointment within 10 minutes. Arrived upstairs and waited about 5-10 more minutes for the doctor. Was greeted by the doctors nurse who was really polite and helpful too. Waited maybe 5 minutes later for the doctor (Dr. Eckert) who was really warm and kind upon our first meeting. He listened to me, helped and had me on my way within 30 minutes. All in all I couldn't have asked for a better doctors experience. read more

The front desk staff should either be trained in customer service to be more cordial and helpful or be fired. The ladies are more interested in chit chatting with one another. They are unfriendly. They loose paper work and fail to call back or follow up when they say they will. Asked to have my fathers records/X-rays sent over to the hospital. It took three times calling them before any action was taken. Very poor performance. read more

I called to inquire about availability for a first time patient physical. The front office person was the rudest person I have ever talked to. Her response was "A long time" and then barked that she needed my first name and information. I told her I just wanted to know the ball park of the next availability so I can figure out if I wanted to schedule there. She then told me in the most condescending voice ever that she wouldn't be able to give me availability without my full information first... Because she needed to make sure I didn't already have a physical within the year because you can only have one a year. I don't understand why you need to give your personal information to check availability?? I was so put off by her rude response I told her I was no longer interested and hung up. read more

My wife and I have been going to this clinic for 25 years, and really like Dr. Sefton, but it really doesn't make sense to continue going to a place that takes a week or more to get into. I used to see a doctor here as my primary care physician for years. The front desk was generally friendly and I never experienced problems setting up appointments even on same day requests. From that point on the experience wasn't the best. I would usually show up 10-15 minutes before my appointment and end up waiting in the lobby 15-20 minutes past when my appointment should have started. Once I was finally in a room and the nurse had come and gone I would have to start the next waiting game. On a few occasions I would time the span when the nurse left to when my doctor would come into the room. It would regularly be upwards of 15-40 minutes before the doctor showed up!! As far as the level of expertise and care, I felt that my primary doctor didn't spend enough time with me trying to figure out what was wrong. In my last visit with her, I saw her for hardly any time and was given a prescription without, in my opinion, sufficient testing beforehand to see if there was another culprit for my symptoms. After experiencing a bad reaction to this medication I made an emergency follow-up with another doctor there as my primary was out of the office. This doctor was incredibly warm and understanding. Even though the wait time in the lobby and the exam room was horrendous again, she spent a while talking with me and suggesting testing that could start narrowing things down. In the end, I was tired of having to block out 2-2.5 hours of my day for a doctor appointment where I only saw a doctor for 5 minutes. I felt that the level of care was hit or miss depending on the amount of time I had to spend waiting (more waiting = more patients = less time doctor can see you = faster they try and get you out the door). I did my research and switched to a new clinic and am so happy with my decision. read more

If there was a zero star setting, I'd choose it. I'm new to the area and woke up sick a few days ago. I picked this clinic because it's close to my house. When I saw Dr. Lu, she was nice but continued to ask me questions about a late miscarriage I had in my history. It had absolutely nothing to do with why I was there. It's painful for me to speak of and I finally had to say, "Look, I don't want to talk about this." I was told that my labs came back positive for an infection and I was given an antibiotic. After a couple days, I'm still feeling sick and symptoms are starting to get worse. I called to ask if they could give me another medication. The nurse called back and said, "Could you come back in for another urine sample? The lab FORGOT to culture your first one." So, here's what we've learned about this place: -It takes two visits to get an accurate diagnosis -They gave me a medication without fully understanding the nature of my illness -They want to bill me twice to redo a test and cover their own mistake/negligence This is why healthcare is expensive in this country: poor care and excessive billing. I told the nurse I'd be looking for another doctor who doesn't let labs go untested. A practice that can't diagnose me correctly the first time around does not deserve my business. Be warned, neighbors: these people will give you sub-par care while wasting your time and money. UPDATE: I just received a call from the lab. While the nurse tried to blame the mistake on them, they informed me that they cannot legally perform a culture without a doctor's order and that Dr. Lu failed to give them instructions. So, we've also learned that Dr. Lu was negligent and that her office will attempt to avoid blame by passing the buck to the lab (who were actually very nice). Seriously, avoid this clinic! I've never experienced such incompetence in my life. read more
