The Golf dome: The gold area was well maintained and the ball distribution was easy as they have a machine for dispensing. There is a bar with full food service within the dome. As you drive in, the clubhouse cuts an imposing figure. The range is right next to the parking lot, and they gave me balls to hit for free. Range was empty, but felt a little tight where the tees were. We played on a weekday and overnight there was a lot of rain - still, we made good time for it being cart path only. I saw the rangers at least three times, so it seems like pace of play is important to them. The course itself had some wet spots, and cart path only made complete sense. The course rating and slope aren't too bad, but the course is a challenge. There are several "blind" tee shots (or 2nd if you mishit), and playing here before does have its advantages. Many picturesque holes, with a mostly links-style feel (at least what we call links in the US). Keep the ball in the short stuff, or in the first cut - otherwise, you're asking for trouble. Nice halfway house at the turn; the bar is nice and spacious, and the drink prices are very reasonable. Now that I've played here once, I'd love to return and score better...Staff is personable and friendly.

The guy working the club house said it was in the best condition of all the area courses, and he was not kidding. He also said "in general, don't miss right" which was also partially true... but really, he could have just said "don't miss" and it would have been just as palpable. The course is not very long for the most part, but is well protected by hazards. These manifest as natural reeded marsh, ponds and creeks, large pot bunkers, and just general woods. Accuracy is at a premium over distance, I think I only hit driver off the tee three times, opting instead for 3 wood or 3i hybrid in the majority of cases. The greens were immaculate, true rolls and good speed. In general, the course was very well maintained, the staff kind, bathroom breaks convenient and clean, and the drink cart girl showing up right when you needed her services! The starter let us go as a twosome without having to wait and be paired up, yay! We also hit a small bag of balls on the practice range before the round, and found it to be in good shape as well.
