We have had our daughter in this school for two years and she is learning and growing beyond any expectations we had at the start. Thanks to Kat and the loving teachers at this school, Addie is ready to take on kindergarten. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. The school is constantly finding new ways to provide kids with the tools they need explore their imagination. They keep in constant communication and send all sorts of fun photos of the kids day through the HiMama App. The school works diligently to maintain good hygiene and addresses safety issues immediately. This school goes out of its way to remain flexible, accommodating, and respectful of the needs of the children they take care of and the parents who depend on them. They inform parents when their child may need some additional support or guidance, allowing us to be better parents. There is no place I would feel more safe for my kids to attend. Addie adores everyone here, a sentiment that my wife and I both share. Although our oldest me be moving on soon, you can bet there is no other place we would consider for our youngest.

The facilities are great, and so is the quality of education they provide. As far as the school goes, I give it a 5 put of 5. That said, recently they have been acquired by a company called cadence. Since then your kid will get sent home for the slightest reason. If they have a fever then it's mandatory three days out instead of 24. For some things it's 5 days. Nor will they accept results of a negative Covid test. Cadence's ridiculous policies puts a tremendous amount of strain on working parents that unfortunately offsets many of the great aspects of the school. In Cadence's defense they will refund some of your tuition back if your child is out for a long time.

The elementary program for this school is less than adequate. We are leaving foundations after my…read moreson's kindergarten year and are working diligently to get him to where we think he needs to be academically. I don't know if that is attributed to the program or the teacher; I know I am not the only parent coming out of this year that feels this way. They test the students on subjects they simply don't teach. And if they do - I hardly saw evidence. The communication with my son's teacher was lackluster at best. During a parent teacher conference, I asked a simple question about reading materials, and she completely shut down. She couldn't answer what the kids use to assist in reading, as I quickly discovered my son hadn't learned anything and needed to know how best to supplement at home. When I asked what materials they use, she stopped talking, put her hands in her lap, and looked down for a good minute. It was truly disturbing. it was as if someone unplugged her. My husband and I were very confused. Communication over day-to-day activities was also lackluster. One Friday, my son dropped his entire lunch (that we provided), and they did nothing to get him anything else to eat. Not even a cracker. Nor was it communicated to me that this had happened. I waited until Monday to ask if he had actually dropped his food, and his teacher did confirm it and told me she looked for some food for him, but 'nobody had any', which is odd considering the school has a chef. Another day I walked up to the playground to see my son eating leaves off the ground. A typical kid thing to do, but his teacher had no idea. Why? Well, I asked what she did when they were outside - in Discovery Park - a pretty heavily wooded area. My son told me she remained at the picnic table for most of their outside time. Then, after he ate a berry off the ground - I emailed again, looping in the program director. I was surprised that they had a berry-producing tree (that the students had full access to); I was told then that 'Obviously, a teacher cannot supervise each and everything all children do while in our care.' Considering there were 10 students, and usually an assistant on the playground with the teacher. I was shocked. One day I got to school early, poor timing on my part; not wanting to interrupt his playtime with friends, I waited in the parking lot where I saw that his teacher indeed sat at the picnic table. She didn't get up once in about a 40 minute period. She sat facing the parking lot, away from the wooded area. This also explained why my son came home with scratches all over his body, with no explanation. The school set some pretty impressive standards for covid, which, to be honest, is why we enrolled him. Those precautions went right out the window; I'd say a month or two into the program. As parents, we weren't informed of this. I know of one event that happened a WEEK into the program that was explicitly against their self-imposed covid protocols. Any time I tried to express my disappointment, or frustration I was met with justification. These are our experiences, and I can imagine that if I receive any response, it will invalidate the things we experienced and justify behaviors. To be honest, I was reluctant to even post this as a review as I feel like in my gut, somehow it could come back on my son. We paid good money for this program, and to come out of it having sent him to daycare his kindergarten year, I'm sure any parent can imagine both the disappointment and the resentment that we feel.

As for the infant room the ladies that care for the babies make sure you feel comfortable. As a new mom I'd spend at least 10 minutes each day getting a play by play of our daughters developments. Kayla and Alissa work hard to know your child and provide them a safe and loving environment. My son loves going to school and loves his teachers. Can't say enough good things, if you're looking for childcare with a quality pre-k program please consider The Children's Courtyard South. ------------ We really love The Children Courtyard SOUTH. My son started at the North center and he was not thriving there at all. Then he was bit on the face by another child and they didn't do enough in our eyes to protect our child from further incidents. He had been bit a total of three times in about a two week span. The first two incidents weren't reported to me and I found out by my son. When the child bit my son's face I had had enough and was very furious with the North center. They opted to not remove the boy who kept biting my son so we removed our son and began care at the South center. Anyways, we were really hesitant to give the South center a chance because we were just not happy with what had happened at the North center, but the two facilities operate completely separately. Because they are separate it gave us the confidence and hope to give CCY South a chance. We are so glad we transitioned to CCY South. Initially it took awhile to get our paperwork transitioned over to the South center. It was a little confusing and we weren't guided through the process as well as I had hoped, but eventually we got it all figured out with the director Samantha. The staff and teachers at CCY South are amazing. My son absolutely loves his pre-k teachers Ms. Brittany and Ms. Larissa. They give all the kids so much care, attention and kindness. My son missed a day of school while we were visiting family and he told me he had to go back to school because Ms. Brittany would miss him. Tip: 1. Sign up for the Brightwheel App so you can easily communicate with the school. They also send you photos and videos of your child throughout the day. I love the communication regarding naps and meals. I feel connected even when I am away at work. It is secure and you only have access to your child. 2. Sign up for the WatchMeGrow App so you can see a live video feed of your child throughout the day. It's a great way to stay connected while you are away from you child. If you have a need for childcare and want your child to receive quality care and an education geared toward their age level, please check out CCY South. My son loves his school, his teachers, and the staff here. He is now thriving and we love CCY South. Oh and I should add that they handle incidents very well and communicate with the parents each time and incident happens.

The review posted does not match the reality that many of us have experienced, and it includes claims that are either exaggerated and simply not true. It also contains comments that look down on families with lower income, which is prejudiced, entitles and outright UN-Christian. Our school community includes families from every background, and that diversity is one of its strengths. My children have always been treated with kindness and respect. Any time I have heard about student conflict, the staff responded quickly and professionally. The school takes bullying seriously and does not ignore concerns. Suggesting that nothing is done or that the environment is unsafe does not reflect what truly happens on campus. The teachers my children have had are qualified, supportive, and dedicated. I have never seen a situation where someone was teaching a subject outside of their training or credentials. And if they did, it means they have multiple endorsements. Unless you are a teacher, how on earth can you make that call about someone's personal endorcements and qualifications. What an odd thing to assume. Class sizes have been appropriate, and classroom environments are comfortable, safe, as well as managed. My 2 children have never been in a room where students were packed in or unable to learn. The comments about financial aid are especially troubling!! Scholarships and tuition assistance exist so that children from all kinds of families can access a Christian education. Speaking poorly about families who receive help is hurtful and suggests a bias that does not belong in a school review. Financial aid does not increase tuition for other parents, and claiming that it does spreads lies and misinformation. If you really want to have a bias, take a free tour. The school is pretty amazing and offers free tours all the time.

They are very happy to let me just hang around for a bit and interact with my son and other children as well! I can pop in any time I want to check up on him too. They give you a paper they've filled out throughout the day updating you on what your child did, how much he ate - what he ate, how many diaper changes and if he had gone number 2. When he got home from the first day, he was soooo tired! But he was happy! When I changed his diaper when he got home, it was obvious that they had changed him before they released him to his Daddy that day. Oh my gosh, they are very good at putting Diapers on Toddlers comfortably as well. I know that may be a strange thing to mention, but I am a stickler for how his Diaper is done because I don't want him to be uncomfortable. He didn't even want to leave. Now, onto the staff; I have a book of my own I bring with because I wasn't aware of the paper they give you at the end of the day, but they are absolutely happy that I brought a book explaining his mood, likes and dislikes, favorite toys, naptimes and the situation at home with working and such. They mold themselves around the child and they observe the children's reactions and make sure that each little one gets the attention and care they need. There are not many 2 year olds in the class, I could count maybe 10, but there were two caregivers (I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable giving someone else's name on the internet), and people come in and out to help between all the classes. It's a very safe environment, with a door that only parents that have their children enrolled in can have the code too, so people can't just walk in, so that does make me feel more comfortable. The Director is a very sweet and understanding woman as well. If you want to know how the staff is~ Just think of people who are very patient and kind and nurturing and good with children. There are no flaws that I have found. - All meals are cooked in house, with awareness of allergies that children have, and are nutritious and apparently delicious! :3 Oh! One more thing, they are always down on the floor with the kids, the caregivers converse with each other and the children, so the constant chatter is also VERY good for the children to learn how to speak to one another. Their conversations are kid friendly, and very funny. I even laughed. So yes, if you're looking for something like this for your child, I very highly recommend it! West Olympia KinderCare has always had good communication with me too, they give me daily updates at pickup how his day went and how well he's doing with his potty training.
